The house and surrounding property are absolutely stunning. This is a gorgeous home and not only furnished beautifully but also extremely well equipped. We felt privileged to be able to spend a few days over Thanksgiving here. Every communication with the property manager, as well as the owner, was promptly answered. And it was the special touches, such as a hand written note from the owner welcoming us (along with a delicious bottle of wine and some snacks - as well as their cell phone numbers) that really made this stay special. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. If you have the opportunity to visit, do it!
This property exceeds expectations. Oftentimes, photos of a property’s listing make it look nicer than it actually is. Here, the opposite is true. The photos on the listing, while beautiful, do not do it justice. The property is far more stunning in person. My wife and I seek peace and seclusion regarding where we stay. We are also avid cooks and seek out properties that will enable us to enjoy our love of cooking. This property delivers on every level. Glen Ellen is close to the wineries we enjoy, but it’s also a smaller, quieter hamlet in the area that served up the peace and quiet we desired. The property is large, and there is nothing but silence in the evenings, save for the occasional gobbles from the large flock of turkeys that we enjoyed seeing every day during their visits. The pool is fantastic, and we enjoyed lounging in that space several days during our trip. The house itself is perfect. It’s 24 years old, but it looks like a 100+ year old Tuscan villa, which the architect nailed. It’s cozy and extremely well decorated. It has 3 large bedrooms and could easily accommodate 6 people. The kitchen is the most well equipped and outfitted as any house we have ever rented, and we have rented many homes throughout the country. The property also has a beautiful vegetable and herb garden that the owner encouraged us to enjoy….and we did! Fresh tomatoes, basil, parsley, squash. The communication from the owner and the property manager were flawless.
We truly enjoyed our time at this amazing place. Close to so many things yet far enough away to feel away from it all. Countless hours in the pool with our family and amazing home cooked meals on the patio. We look forward to our next visit!
This home is such a beautiful, quite & cozy getaway. We were in town for work & it was very hard to leave each day. The pool area is heaven on earth. The sweet little animals would come greet us every evening before sunset. We will for sure rent this lovely property again! ♥️
We planned a girls trip for our 60th birthdays. This house really was fabulous. The home is GORGEOUS, from the inside decorating to the outside landscaping. The pool and everything is truly top-notch. The owners are so sweet and responsive. A nice care package was awaiting our arrival, with the really nice booklet put together explaining the lay of the land. I would HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay, with very accommodating owners. Strongly recommend going to Les Pascales in Glen Ellen. The pastries were out of this world. Just expect a long line that moves slowly, as the poor woman is running the ship on her own, so be patient! It is totally worth the wait. Everything tasted like I was in Paris again. Highly, highly recommend this home for anyone looking for something like this. The pool area is to die for! Thank you to the owners!
We walked in to find a handwritten note from the owners, a bottle of wine from their favorite vineyard and a few other goodies. We couldn’t help but stand in awe of our beautiful surroundings. A perfect place for 4 adults to get away and experience the California wine country. We had a few questions about the outside lighting and hot tub and the owners were quick to respond. Kitchen was well equipped and made for a beautiful Thanksgiving table. Needless to say the views were stunning! Would definitely recommend!
Everything about this home was perfect! The views alone of the property are worth the stay. There were six adults on this trip and there was plenty of room to accommodate our group. We loved the rustic décor and added touches in the home. We woke up every morning to deer and turkey roaming the grounds. The pool and spa made it hard to want to leave but we did venture out for several day trips into Sonoma and Napa. We had a chef come to the home one evening for dinner and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything he needed. I would love to stay here again on my next trip back to Somona!
We spent 5 nights here and it was out of a magazine. The grounds are beautiful and rustic - wildlife roaming, huge garden and flowers blooming, absolute peace and quiet. The house was beautifully decorated and appointed with literally everything you could every need. The real show stopper is the pool and spa - huge, warm, clean, just gorgeous. It was pure luxury in the country and closely located to everything. We can’t wait to return!
The house was perfect for our family. We loved the charming interior rustic decor, the gorgeous setting and the fantastic pool and spa area. It was a delight to wake up to turkeys, deer and quail roaming the property! It was hard to pull ourselves away from the house but the location made day trips easy and fun. We visited some great wineries, went biking and hiking and explored nearby Sonoma, Napa and Callistoga. We were sad to leave and hope to visit again in the near future!
