Segreto used to be an old olive storage house dated back in the 19th century and has been renovated to maintain memories and the tradition of Palumbi estate. The pebbled communal court yard features a large swimming pool surrounded by untouched buildings of an old stable and winery, which accentuate the romantic quality of the past.
The space
Palumbi Segreto is a 2 floor 112sq villa. It is located on the left side of the estate and is overlooking the old winery and the old mansion. It has access to the swimming pool and courtyard, through a flowering path and a pebbled stairway. The interior of the villa has floors, ceilings and stairs made of wood. The main entrance leads to a large fully equipped kitchen with a dining table. On the same floor there is a large bedroom with an en suite bathroom, the room has a view to the old stables and winery. Parelia is the perfect place to stay on the island and enjoy all its charms. My family and I (4 visitors) spent one week there. There are currently 2 houses/cottages for rent in an old 19th estate, with a beautiful mansion. The entire place is beautiful - large space, wonderful greenery, swimming pool. Everything is conducive to privacy and relaxation in peace. Parelia is located in the town of Sinarades - practically right in the middle. It is convenient neighborhood - the town is small, life flows in a lazy way, but it is close to small stores/tavern. Almost no visitors. The place is about 10-15 minutes from the sea (the nearest beach), but generally for us it served as a base - we drove car to see all attractions. It is located in the middle of the island so within 30-60 minutes we were able to reach each of the beaches, towns and sights. A huge advantage is the swimming pool (about 13-15m long) - it's in excellent condition and it's definitely the number one attraction for teenagers/anyone on hot days. In the house, there is air conditioning, a well-equipped kitchen to prepare basic food. Everything is very well thought out and at hand. In addition, Ntoreta is very helpful - always willing to advise and suggest how to spend your time. It was really a super week!
We arrived to be warmly welcomed by Ntoreta and her mum. The location is stunning and we were made to feel extremely welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The property is very clean, spacious and ideal for a restful holiday, in beautiful surroundings. The village of Sinarades is also stunning. We ate most evenings at Taverna Archontariki, as recommended by Ntoreta. Akis and his family made us feel extremely welcome every night. The food is all home cooked and delicious. Pablumis Segreto is an amazing place to stay, with delightful hosts, who ensure that you have an amazing time. Thank you Ntoreta, Panos and Theodora.
We had a wonderful stay here. Ntoreta & Panos are excellent hosts, they are there to be helpful without being intrusive. Accomodation was clean and spacious. The pool and grounds are amazing. I loved wandering round the gardens, very relaxing. The little village has a few grocery shops and the food and service in the local taverna was excellent. I would recommend a hire car to get to the local beaches and as the village is situated in the middle of the island is the perfect base to explore the rest of Corfu. I would thoroughly recommend. Thank you for an amazing holiday.
The whole family (parents and 20 and 16 year old daughters) adored this place. An amazing and peaceful setting, with gorgeous seating areas around or overlooking the pool which is large and wonderful to swim in. We were very sorry to hear that they had recently had guests who had not respected the peace and beauty of the accommodation and grounds, and caused not inconsiderable damage - all of which was rectified before we arrived. They were clearly upset by the experience as they are quite rightly proud of this beautiful place. I hope Ntoreta and Pano do not have a repeat experience - they and the property deserve respect and consideration. We can’t thank them enough for an amazing stay. The location is also excellent, with the old village which was great to explore - including supermarkets with fresh bread, and tavernas -within easy walking distance, and also located for good access both to the south and north of the island. Corfu was a surprise to us - much better than we had thought, with beautiful countryside and beaches, and excellent, good value tavernas. We do realise we were spoilt at The Palumbo as we were lucky to be the only guests during our stay. It would need all guests to be thoughtful of others staying so as not to spoil the experience. But with this proviso, I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Ntoreta and Pano’s beautiful home.
