Place is a bit dated and could stand for some updating. The furniture is not the most comfortable but you do not spend much time there anyway. The stove top did not work. Overall, the location is top notch (just minutes from the beach), the pool areas are great, the pickleball courts were like new, all other amenities were very nice!

Clean, in great shape and in an outstanding location. We were told verbally by Palmetto dunes reservations the pool would be heated. We reconfirmed before paying the final payment. We get there and the pool was freezing. We called and were told there was nothing they can do, the management company is offsite. Sad as there were a lot of people at the pool but no one could go in and stay in as it was too cold.

It had all the amenities and more. It was very clean and a perfect layout for all our needs. The distance to the pool and ocean was perfect especially with small children. The check in and out process was super easy. Overall we had an amazing trip full of great memories!

Planned to stay next year again but they changed it to weekly rentals in March! Great place!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first trip to HHI and we struggled to decide where to stay. We were very happy with our choice of Palmetto Dunes. The location was perfect, and Villamare was very quiet compared to other places we looked at on our vacation. Our particular unit, 3229, was in a nice spot. Easy to access, and although it wasn’t ocean view, the patios looked out to trees and we had the sound of a pond fountain to enjoy. The unit itself is only partially updated, and could use a deep clean. Walls, doors, etc were dirty. The second bedroom has a hotel style door that does not stay open, even with two door stops. It appears that it was previously used as a separate rental from the rest of the unit. It would be nice if the door was changed; It slams very fast and hard and I would be very careful with young children as fingers could easily be pinched. The master bedroom had a very strong mildew scent. We kept the sliding patio doors open (there are screen doors) when we were home, and that helped some. Lastly, the master bed is terribly uncomfortable. It feels like a very old, firm spring mattress. I slept very poorly on it, and my husband and I each woke up sore each morning. If you are considering this unit for a longer rental, I’d suggest buying a mattress topper and better pillows. All in all, we would choose Villamare again, but would look at different units.
