Stayed Apr 24, 2024This residence is just stunning with it's open concept and view of the ocean from every room. The guests bedrooms step right onto the beach from their own patio's. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and gives everyone their own privacy. If you are familiar with the East Cape, you know that it's about a 20 to 25 minute drive from downtown. We went out to eat a lot for dinner but you don't have to go anywhere if you don't want to. The kitchen is fully furnished with everything you need to cook all your meals at home. If you want to embrace the life on East Cape, you can take the dirt road and there are several really good restaurants to choose from as well. It's my favorite place to be.

Stayed Jun 18, 2021We loved the house - spacious and well appointed. The location was great for us as surfers, though the beach in front wasn't surfable or even swimmable. But there is some good surfing a short drive north of the house up the dirt road. Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed May 15, 2021Me and my wife had a great time. We met Polo in town at a store called La comer if your booking this house remember that, it was hard to get the name of the store from polo but he is a great guy very helpful and patient. This is a Very beautiful home on the beach the place was clean enough and set up to cook and hang out by the pool. There is a AC in the beautiful bed room and a nice bed. There is a cat that lives here called mish very sweet make kissing sounds and she will be friendly. The ocean is not safe to swim in don't try. This home is Not A private place there is a access road and parking in the yard between the home and the beach, folks spend the day and camp right there next to the house and the 2 rooms are only feet from this area there doors and windows look out on it and there is no fence or separation of space, we where fine with this and for the most part folks where respectful but if I had to stay down stairs I would not feel the same and I wouldn't feel good about bringing kids to stay in those rooms. We where looking for a beautiful place for our anniversary and we found the perfect place for 2 on the beach.

Stayed Mar 29, 2021This is a beautiful property and we had a great time, but it took a couple of days to get comfortable with the downsides. This house is set up extremely well for 3 couples traveling together. I took my family (my wife and our two teenagers) and depending on your preferences, it may not be perfect for that. Here's what to know before you go. PROS: The property is beautiful, the beach is amazing. Kitchen is well stocked and ready. Bed in master is very comfortable. What you see in the pictures of the home is accurate. Polo, the person who takes care of the property and helps get you set up at the beginning of your trip, is really great. We sat on the porch and watched humpback whales breaching multiple times daily. Literally every day. We had a bull and cow walk right through the property at night, watched dolphins playing in the water, and woke up to birds chirping every morning. CONS: Two biggies. First, the two casitas (bedrooms unattached to the main house) do not have internet. Which means our kids had no way to text or call if they had a problem, got scared, or anything else. The house is more remote than we expected and not at all in the location spotted on the vrbo map, so none of us were comfortable that first night. We resolved this issue by buying walkie-talkies at Walmart in town. The second issue is that because the beach in front of the house is so beautiful...and because there's access to it from the road, you will have a lot of local visitors driving on the beach daily, setting up umbrellas and playing music and obstructing the view and experience you think you are buying. This definitely would not be an issue if it's what you're expecting, but being from the States I fully expected that part of the beach to be private and reflect what's shown in the pictures. That's not at all what you'll get. We considered moving to the Montage because of these issues but ended up staying. I would absolutely come back to this property with friends or just my wife knowing what I would be getting.

Stayed Jun 30, 2018I have held off submitting this review for over 1.5 years as we selfishly wanted to keep this place a secret. By far one of our favorite homes in the world that we have rented. The pictures don't do this home justice (yes that's right). We are a family with two children (9 and 12) and we couldn't be happier with the entire experience. Norma assisted us in meeting with Polo and the process was very simple. First of all, this home is right on the beach and it virtually is a private beach (not good for swimming though). Second, the house is clearly treated more like a personal home and less a rental, meaning everything is high quality and top of the line. We could not get the kids out of the pool except to go driving in the razor, adventuring at Calbo Pulmo for snorkeling and of course the short drive into town for delicious dinners. As beautiful as the house, view, pool is...it doesn't compare to the hospitality that Polo the manager provided...this year we celebrated 4th of July with him cooking hamburgers, hot dogs (traditional american 4th); however, last year he prepared Prime Rib (he used to work at the house of Prime Rib in San Francisco) and cooking our catch from the day of fishing. Thanks again Norma and Pierre for two years of memories for my wife and our family.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family and I spent 10 days at Casa Cuervo over New Year. I can honestly say that the house made the trip. Built recently, there was a tremendous amount of thought and detail that went into the comforts and beauty the house possesses. The majority of the home is indoor/ outdoor living, as it should be there, and it was designed to maximize the views and ease of getting in and out. This is a spare part of the world in terms of creature comforts and that is how we wanted it, but you would never feel that from the luxuries of the home. So you have the best of both worlds. Great towels and bed linens are always an indicator of quality and we were not disappointed. The kitchen had everything needed to create amazing meals from the fresh fish we caught daily and much more. The Master bedroom and bathroom suite were unrivaled in their beauty. Downstairs there were two further ensuite bedrooms with everything one would need. The ONLY thing to keep in mind is that the separation of the downstairs rooms from the main part of the house would not suit small children who might want to be closer to their parents. We will most certainly be back to this part of the world as soon as time permits and hopefully we will be fortunate enough to return to Casa Cuervo and add to the amazing memories we made there.
