Beautiful and quiet Cottage typical Andalusian at 12 km from Nerja and beaches.

Traditional Spanish home in the countryside overlooking the coast. Very peaceful and relaxing - we rarely went out - just lazed by the pool and barbecued on the terrace most evenings. Excellent for anyone looking to get away from it all!

We had a wonderful stay in the mountains of Frigiliana. The view and surrounding was spectacular. The house and garden was absolutely fantastic , beautiful garden and swimming pool, from where you have a great look on the mountains and sea. You can make really nice trips to nearby places such as Nerja, Torrox, Competa and also Malaga. A special thanks to the owners Esther and Jesus, who have given us a very friendly welcome and have always been very fast in replying any question we have.

Very private with beautiful view. Facilities were excellent and exactly as described. Quite remote on the mountainside, Perfect for quiet relaxing or venturing to Frigiliana , Nerja., and Torrez. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The place was fantastic for us , the pictures & video don’t do it justice , as soon as we arrived we both fell in love with it & had the best of stays , only 2 of us but the property had another bedroom that was also good. We met Esther twice during our stay & she was lovely, Bit scary on the road getting to it but well worth it, Les & Trish

We enjoyed our stay in 'el Cortijo Retama' very much. The house is traditional Andalusian and very cozy. You have everything you need at hand. We especially loved the terrace, the pool and the amazing view! The owners are very kind and the communication was easy. We would highly recommend this holiday house.

Esther & Jesus have created a beautiful and authentic cottage, in an amazing setting. Both the interior and exterior have been finished simply but with great taste and the feeling is of an authentic, rural, Andalusian home but with all the modern conveniences required for the modern world. We had a peaceful and relaxing week at the Finca, in late September. The weather was still great so were able to enjoy the pool, by day, and to sit out on the terrace in the evening, enjoying the view and a glass of the local wine. While the property is down a rural road, which twists up into the mountains, it is not remote and access to Frigiliana was only 10 minutes (by car) and a 20 minute drive to Nerja and the coast. Lots of good walking and cycling locally. We arrived quiet late (21.30 local time) but this was no issue for Esther and Jesus. Esther came to meet us, to guide us the last few miles to the property and to give us a tour and explain how everything worked. We didn't need anything during the week but they are local and willing to provide any assistance if and when needed. We would definitely recommend the villa to those who want to be off the beaten track but not too far from all the local area has to offer.

We also enjoyed our stay in this house very much. The location is exceptional, the house very comfortable and the pool is a real treat. Although difficult to access, we felt safe. The hosts were very responsive and welcoming. The paths around the house make for very pleasant walks with superb views of the surrounding mountains. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful holiday. The house has been a peaceful harbour for us. It is decorated with love. The owner offers a super hospitality and availability during our stay. A lot of towels and bed sheets at our disposal during the stay. We had a bottle of wine and some fresh goods in the fridge at our arrival. Thanks a lot to Esther and Jesus

We were looking for a home from home experience but without the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and that’s just what we found. The track to the cottage was an experience, fun with a challenge on the narrow mountain road, on arrival at the cottage we knew immediately it was what we’d been hoping for. Well stocked, clean and cosy and absolutely picturesque. Jesus the owner, although didn’t speak too much English, was friendly and welcoming and during our stay completely left us to it but was available (by what’s app / visit) if needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and family that choose to be somewhere that is “away from it all”
