Stayed Feb 21, 2025Our stay at Bananaquit House was simply amazing-The views are incredible, the villa is meticulously clean, and the bedrooms are spacious with high quality bed linens and very comfortable beds. We really appreciated the exquisite decor, the open layout, and of course, the ridiculously gorgeous infinity pool. I recommend letting the house staff buy all the groceries, wine, beer, and rum. Just let the amazing cook Margaret do her magic! For the grocery list, just say you want local, fresh provisions and catch of the day fish and the Caribbean go-to, chicken. Do not rent a car to drive to this house. I suppose the drive from the airport and through town is do-able but the drive up the ridge to the house isn't anything I would have wanted to attempt. Let the house manager arrange transportation for your group. The walk to the beach is nice and a vigorous work out on the way back up. We are an energetic and adventurous group and went down to the beach almost everyday for swimming. Do explore the beach area to find this lovely cove a short walk away from the resort area. A few of us hiked up Gros Piton. Glad I did it but would not do it again! Highlight of trip was the private catamaran snorkeling, sunset cruise with Mystic Man Tours. The house staff is extremely attentive and takes care of whatever it is you need or want. (We tipped each staff member individually instead of putting tips in the general house staff tip box.) We hope to return to Bananaquit House soon!

Stayed Dec 27, 2024We stayed here the week between Christmas and new years. Often the properties don’t live up to the pictures but this property surpasssd all pictures and expectations. The property is gorgeous and conveniently located. The pool was amazing. The staff was amazing. The food was delicious and they didn’t mind doing extra grocery trips for us.The property manager did a great job arranging excursions for us and it was clear he is well known and liked in the community. It could not have been a better trip.

Stayed Oct 23, 2024We have just completed our 11 nights stay at Banana Quit and we feel as if we visited the paradise. It was a special family celebration, so we were 3 families - 4 children aged 6-15 and 5 adults. I can’t quite describe how breathtaking the view from the house is. Even after those 11 days, we still stop to take it in several times a day. The house is immense, with an authentic Caribbean feel and all the modern luxuries. Do not expect modernistic architecture and minimalistic kitchen, but a very real, extremely spacious and delightfully decorated Caribbean house, adorned with local flowers. The common space is incredible - it is so spacious: there are several areas to enjoy meals with the view of the Pitons from different angles, and another several lounging areas. The pool is really large and quite deep, and with the stunning view - all our kids are good swimmers and divers so we all enjoyed it around the clock. You will be surrounded by the tropical forest so expect to be immersed in sounds and views of nature. We absolutely loved it and enjoyed every minute of it. I can’t remember last time I slept so soundly. The setup includes a lovely and discreet housekeeping team who cleaned and cooked. The team finish at 3pm so in the evening we had the full privacy to enjoy the delicious meal cooked a couple of hours earlier. It worked really well for us. We rented cars (4x4 is useful) and used Anse Chastanet beach and scuba centre. Beautiful! Morning market in Soufriere is great too

Stayed Aug 6, 2024Our eight adult family members had mixed reviews. All agreed that the views were incredible, great location, staff eager to please, great cooks, flexible to meet our needs. Planning and accurate communication were important when it comes to meals. Mixed reviews centered around the house being an open-air design…meaning that there are no screens or glass windows…only wood shutters. Some of us loved the loud nature noises at night. Some of us loved bananaquit birds joining us for meals. Most found the mosquitoes tolerable. Some were not bothered by the occasional bats flying around nor the constant dampness. Yet others were not so accepting. The open-air design would be a 10 for some and lower for others. Air Conditioned bedrooms and mosquito nets helped greatly. I would guess the house was built in the seventies so some things are showing age, e.g., shutters not easily movable, doors sticking, electrical breakers switching off during heavy rains, aging appliances, etc. Yet the staff were on call 24/7 to correct any major issues that may happen. Our mixed reviews depended on one’s expectations, tolerance, and visiting in the wet season. If you want to hermetically seal yourself from St. Lucia’s nature, I suggest a hotel. But if you want to experience the true wonders of a tropical rainforest and wake up to the best view in St. Lucia, then Bananaquit is the place for you. Some of us would rate Bananaquit a 10…other family members not quite as high.

Stayed Feb 22, 2024We had a great time at Banana Quit. Group of 9 ladies. The house is outstanding in every way, the view of the Piton’s is amazing from the patio. The house service was great, great food from Margaret the chef. One very important shout out to Nimrod Vincent our driver, he was absolutely amazing he always picked us up promptly and would wait on us when we were out. Please request his service. We would not change one thing about our trip it was over the top.

Stayed Dec 24, 2023The house offers lovely views and an infinity pool (almost no shade) but doesn't meet luxury standards at any price. It's run down and needs major upgrades. We experienced multiple water outages. Two bedrooms had broken A/C, and the rooms had unclosable windows, only mosquito nets, making working A/C ineffective due to humidity and the fact they’re open to the outside. One suite was unusable due to intense chlorine smell (also very dark w/ low ceilings). Several bathrooms lacked towel and toilet paper holders. Breakfast service started 10AM, which is far too late for families w/ little kids. Dinner was delicious but the staff leaves early, so its “served” by being left on the stove when they leave. Non-working dishwasher so big mess overnight but the staff kept the house very clean. Fruit bats nesting in the rafters (again, the house is totally open) posed a serious concern (rabies anyone?). The 1st night included rum punch and a snack; afterward, we were on our own as the staff was gone when we got back from the beach. Advertised beach access was misleading; it's a challenging 30-40 min walk or an 8-min drive. The house is best for a bachelor party or folks who just need a lot of rooms. The house manager, was very responsive. I suspect he would love to fix all of these things but is not empowered to. Manager will ask for exorbitant fee to use credit card to settle the grocery bill. Overall, the house's condition and misrepresentations significantly affected our experience

Stayed Mar 12, 2023Best view in the world!! Bumpy road up to the house. We had a great trip with our family of 7. The bedrooms can get hot as they have small ac air units and some of the plugs didn’t work. Jason is always quick to respond. Margaret is a great chef. Kendy is a great driver. The beach really isn’t walking distance but you can call for your driver. There are no TVs or cable in the house. About an hour drive from the airport, but the driver made it a smooth process. We all loved the house and would love to come back. Overall 5/5 best part of the house is the view of the pitons.
