We have just returned from a beautiful and peaceful week at Il Borgo della Querche. Saverio was brilliant when we checked in and had gathered lots of local information for us as well as a handy guide to the area. We stayed in the luxury villa and the small pool was a great size for a 4 year old and a 5 month old as well as being gated and safe for kids and there is lots of outside space including a nice dining area and bbq. Staying in mid September, it was starting to get quite cool in the evenings though and the villas downside is a lack of comfortable seating inside. We had children asleep in both bedrooms and so there was just a small kitchen table to sit out once they had gone to bed. The TV and armchairs are located in the bedrooms as well. It’s location is great for martina Franca being about a 10 minutes drive and we loved popping there for a drink in the evening and using the Wednesday market. Most of the key places in Valle D’itria are the other side of martina Franca so it does add time to each trip by we enjoyed the town so it seemed worth it. The air conditioning (if you need it as we didn't) is very modern and efficient and we were impressed with how clean the villa was. It could definitely do with more glasses, bowls and mugs etc as we were often running out before we had filled the dishwasher. Overall a lovely place to stay

A beautiful spot just outside Martina Franca. There are two villas on site which share the pool, little gym and jacuzzi. Our villa was very comfortable and well decorated. The pool was a welcome element in the July heat especially with kids and there is a nice covered seating and dining area on the patio. We rented the smaller of the two villas and it lacks a sitting room but in the summer with such fantastic outside space it is not really needed. The whole place is surrounded by wonderful gardens with herbs, flowers, olive and fruit trees, is is really quite idyllic even though you are in effect in a suburb of Martina Franca. The town in 10 minutes away and half of that is navigating the tiny lanes that lead to the villa. Ignore the ugly outer city, inside is a very elegant older town with beautiful squares, fantastic food, Opera and live music. Very handy for the coast (30 mins), Tatanto (25 mins) and the wonderful towns in the Itria valley. We also explored the Lecce and Grika areas with no problem. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended. It’s a surprisingly magical place.

We stayed for 2 weeks at the end of August - also celebrating my daughters 11th birthday during our stay. The Trullo are amazing, beautiful and clean - the pools and jacuzzi fabulous. the setting is great - although the narrow lane is a little tricky!! Saverio and Antonella were perfect hosts and could not do enough to make our stay perfect. we would all recommend a stay 100% and some day hope to return

We had a very nice week with my husband and my two daughters in the Luxury Suite. Everything was after the pictures, even better. It's close to the main tourist spots in the area, so we could easily visit in the morning and relax in the pool and the patio afterwards. We would definitely recommend this place to everybody.

We stayed in the Luxury Suite for 10 days. The villa itself was beautiful, two trulli extended in a sympathetic manner set in a lovely quiet rural setting. Both bedrooms were of a good size and the shower/toilet room was great. All three of these rooms come off the kitchen, a functional but tiny space. Work surface was limited which meant that the kitchen table doubled up as that to. Luckily there is a lovely al fresco dining area about 20m away from the villa with plenty of shade. And a gas BBQ for great evening meals. The private pool area was another 10m on from the dining area down a pathway lined by lavender that just hummed with bees and butterflies, simply stunning. The pool was beautifully clean and a couple of free standing parasols were provided to shade the pool and/ or the sun loungers. The owners helpfully provide a map of the nearest restaurants, supermarkets, banks etc, a range of tourist leaflets and a welcome basket. The welcome basket consisted of six bottles of water, a bottle of wine, a bottle of olive oil and some fruit. The villa is well signposted from the main road, look out for Il borgo dell querce. I've given the villa four rather than five stars for two reasons: - some of the furnishings could definitely do with upgrading, for example the pillows were extraordinarily lumpy and thick and there was very limited crockery and cutlery, we'd typically have to run the dishwasher after each meal to have enough for the next - fine however running it after the evening meal meant lots of noise and I've finished beeping whilst the children were trying to get to sleep in the next room. - we chose the villa over all others because the owners told us that the nearest restaurant (Villa Bacco) was 1km away. The 1km was key to us because it meant that we could walk to and fro with the children and enjoy a couple of glasses of wine with our evening meal. Sadly the nearest restaurant was 2.5km away and therefore too far for a 5 year old to walk late at night. This definitely put a dampener on our holiday.

We had a fabulous 7 nights in Trullo - although weather wasn't too good for the first few day. It was very restful and we would have spent more time around the Trullo had it been warmer as the place and the pool were quite lovely. We like cooking and enjoyed making a lot of our own meals from things we had bought in the market and shops in Martina. We did Anna's cocking course as recommended by Severio - it was a highlight. We hope to return in the next few years as this a great area to visit and we only scratched the surface.

We, four persons, stayed there for about two weeks. The house is really nice, good beds, nice bathroom, not big, but big enough, but only a small kitchen. The terrasse is large and wonderful decorated. If the weather is good, it's really comfortable. The pool is not so big, but it is easy to get used to it. The view from the terrasse over the landscape is marvellous. The owners are very friendly, cooperative and thoughtful. - We enjoyed our holidays very much, althoug there have been some rainy days.
