Saint Philip, Saint Philip
Orion's View is COVID Quarantine approved with 300Mbps WIFI is an amazing 5 bedroom villa located on the edge of a cliff with a spectacular ocean view in the untouched east coast parish of St.Philip, a small secluded beach is just a few hundred yards away and is about a 10 min walk down a path. Ground floor consists of full bathroom, study, spacious living area to seat 7, dining area to seat 8 adjoining a modern kitchen with breakfast bar to seat 4. Behind the kitchen is a laundry area with washer/dryer. Double glass doors lead to an outdoor communal balcony & patio. The patio overlooks an infinity pool, large garden and a fantastic ocean view. The master bedroom is also on the ground floor with an En Suite & Jacuzzi. Both the master and bath do have newly added air conditioning. The 1st floor consists of a large living area leading out to a larger than average outdoor balcony and 4 further bedrooms. There are 5 en suite bedrooms in all, 4 of which have balcony’s, 3 of which are sea view. All rooms have ceiling fans installed & because the sea breeze helps keep the oceanfront rooms cooler. The large queen room at the front of the house does have newly added AC for those needing the cooler temps.
If you want peace and quiet, beautiful views and lots of space, this is the place. The house could use a few upgrades… more ac, better lighting in kitchen, more chairs, night table lights… but overall a great house. We all 10 loved it.
The house has beautiful views. The property manager was responsible and helpful. Ms Jackies bar accross the street was great. The locals and the farm next door was a plus. Listening to the cows was an unexpected pleasure. The house is not in a tourist area so we had difficulty with transportation and getting groceries. I would recommend renting a car if you plan on seeing the island not just the house.
Lovely place to get away from it all, but just know that getting to much of anything is 30-60 minutes of travel. It's a great property but just keep that in mind if you plan on going places every day.
This beautiful, well built Villa in Marley Vale made for a lovely to stay. The pool was cool and very refreshing, the listing mentions a hot tub, but it is just a separate sitting area for the pool. However, this was not a problem as it would have been too hot for a hot tub anyway. The rooms were large and comfortable, only 2 of them had air conditioning (as per the listing) but the air conditioner in one room went on the fritz a couple of times. We were able to get it back up and running except for the last night and we were told by Bert, the house manager that he wasnt able to fix it at that time. Jackie's Bar and Grill across the street provided us with great food and wonderful company for 2 of our nights there and also prepared a delicious lunch of chicken wings, macaroni pie and salt cod casserole for one of our lunches. This villa is a little off the beaten path, and quite a distance from Bridgetown, but there are frequent buses that stop close by which made for an interesting ride into town.
Loved the property. We travelled as 5 women and really appreciated each having our own on suite bathroom. My only concerns were, we were promised to be met at the airport to get directions to the property and that wasn't fulfilled, the pool wasn't cleaned upon arrival and we had to call several times before property manager came to clean it. Toiletries were not automatically replenished mid week. Again we had to call, but ended up going to the store to buy as the properly manager never let extra toilet paper. Also, no central air conditioning. Other that than great property.
Views from the pools an decks were the highlight of the property along with great support from the owner during booking answering numerous questions before arrival, from Bert (property manager) during our stay who even brought us a brand new blender after we mentioned we didn't see one in the kitchen and from Jackie across the street who cooked us a wonderful birthday dinner. The constant breezes through the ocean front rooms made nights comfortable and bug free during our stay. Heavy Sargassum (seaweed) on the NE and SE beaches was disappointing since normally stunning Bottom Bay and Crane would have been convenient destination points from this location. Beaches were clear from Rockley westward (about 35minutes). All of the Caribbean is dealing with this... If looking for calming beautiful views away from the crowds, monkeys in the trees and an occasional stray cow in your backyard then this is the place for you!
We had the pleasure of staying in a lovely home overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is important to note that this particular part of the island has limited options for beaches suitable for day-long visits. As a result, we had to drive for 30-50 minutes each day. Regarding the property itself, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. However, we did have a few suggestions that would make it even better. Firstly, we found that the stationary BBQ is located in an unlit part of the backyard, making it challenging to use after dark. Installing a lamp would be a wonderful solution. Secondly, we discovered that all the knives in the house were extremely blunt and that the sharpener was not functional. Lastly, we experienced an almost day-long interruption of gas service due to unforeseen issues. Moreover, we found that the air conditioners were not functioning properly. While this was not a significant issue in the ocean-front bedrooms, it was uncomfortably hot to sleep in the other rooms. Overall, we appreciated the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful home and provide feedback to improve future guests' experiences. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the island. Very quiet all you hear is the waves crashing just what we wanted. Shout out to Bert who was an outstanding host. Would definitely rent again.
Orion’s View is a wonderful villa with a spectacular view! We rented it for a special birthday celebration vacation and had 4 friends and family join us. It was a perfect size for the 6 of us. The setting was so peaceful with the beautiful views, ocean breeze, great ocean view balconies and spacious 1st and 2nd floor outside terraces. The villa is in a more rural area of Barbados which was perfect for our quiet getaway. It was still easy to walk or drive where we needed so we didn’t feel isolated. The farm next door provided great entertainment and I never thought I would say this, but I already miss the sound of mooing cows. The owner Kevin was very nice to communicate with. The property manager Bert is a great guy and he took care of all of our needs and made our stay very comfortable. Jackie who owns Jackie’s Bar and Grill across from the Villa, made us an authentic Bajan birthday dinner. She was so kind, her food was delicious and we were able to buy extra supplies from her. We cooked a lot of meals and the kitchen mostly had what we needed. There is a Dollar Wise store not far away to buy minor items and the grocery store was equally convenient for food and such. The pool was not heated but refreshing in the warm sun. We were prepared with bug spray for the mosquitos and they weren’t that bad. We visited The Crane Resort nearby for a couple lunches by the pool overlooking the cliffs and that was a nice place to walk around to see something different. We also went to the Crane Beach, the public side, and enjoyed an afternoon in the sand with coconut drinks. Overall we would highly recommend Orion’s View Villa and we hope to go back again in the future. Thank you Kevin, Bert and Jackie!!
My wife and I loved staying here. The owner Kevin and Property manager Burt made the experience easy and enjoyable. The house is massive and the property great for relaxing after exploring the island. Crane beach was a short drive away and was probably our favorite beach on the island. Highly recommend this property.
