Zion time is a cozy property that was great for 4 of us in November! It's on the eastern edge of the park and very close to a couple trails on this side of Zion. We also loved that we were closer to Bryce Canyon this way and the drive there did not feel very long. The house is clean and warm and the outdoor area is huge, with two fire pits and a relaxing hot tub. Because the water comes from a well, we had to be mindful of water use when someone was taking a shower. We also brought our own throw blankets and were glad about that because the property did not have any. Overall we loved our stay and Alex and Vanessa were very responsive!
We booked this cabin for our trip to Zion and Grand Canyon national parks. It is a bit farther from Zion than I expected but it was not a problem. The cabin is in a lovely, remote location in the woods. Do note that the last 2 miles to the house is on dirt roads but you don't need a 4 wheel drive. The cabin is fully furnished and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our 3 days we stayed there.
It was a super cute place and very much in the wilderness. The hot tub is the BEST after some hiking. Just be sure you read and have pictures on how to get there. Reception is very spotty.
Alex's Zion Time Retreat was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. He provided everything we needed and replied promptly to any questions we had. We enjoyed the spa at night and cozy living quarters after a long day hiking. I definitely recommend Alex's Zion Time Retreat to anyone looking for secluded time with friends and family in East Zion!
We loved the stay here. It’s a great cabin, was very close to Zion which was the reason for our visit and still allowed us to escape, feel like very few people were around and enjoy nature. The night skies were incredible from the back porch and my son really enjoyed doing s’mores over the fire pit. Would definitely stay again and our hosts were great. Quick to respond and no issues! Highly recommend.
Very well kept, clean property. Great house for families with lots of games, movies, and TV options. If you like to be secluded and enjoy the quiet, peacefulness, this house is for you!
This property was perfect for me and my four children ages 17 to 22. I wanted a place near Zion but not busy and bustling with activity. This place was it. Just 20 minutes from the park entrance but truly remote, quiet, and peaceful. If you want a place where you can walk to entertainment or restaurants, this place is not for you. If you want to feel like you're in the mountains, because you are, this is your place. I'd definitely return.
My mother two daughters, and our grandchildren had an amazing time at the same time cabin. Our hosts were amazing very accommodating. The Kevin had everything we needed and more we would definitely stay again.
Our family loved our Zion Time vacation! The accommodations were perfect: comfortable beds, cozy living room, and the outdoor living space was the best. We enjoyed a peaceful evening under the stars roasting marshmallows over a firepit and soaking in the hot tub after a long day hiking through Zion National Park. The hosts went over the top by providing very detailed information about the area.
Nice place with wonderful outside spots. Remote location so its very quite and relaxing. House is also very cozy and well stocked. Owners have a fantastic book of local hikes outside of Zion! Our only warning - it took a while to get into the park from the east side as the line was sometimes long - esp when only one lane was open.
This property was perfect for us. It was well furnished, very comfortable, clean, and the owners were very responsive. It was away from the crowds and close to the parks. Exactly what we were looking for. There were plenty of outside areas to enjoy nature or read a book. The hot tub was a perfect addition after a day of hiking and horseback riding. Having the Ponderosa so close was great. We ate at the cafe (very good), used the swimming pool (had to pay extra), and went on the sunset horse back ride. The information provided by the owners about the area was very helpful in planning this trip. In Zion, we did the Canyon Overlook trail and the lower and upper Emerald Pools. All worth while seeing. We arrived at the parks early in the morning and that is definetely reccommended. We did the Peek-A-Boo horseback ride in Bryce. Having a couple of trails that lead into Zion within a couple of miles from the property was awesome.
Comfy & Clean: I'm picky about a comfy bed and clean space. Big thumbs up on both counts. Plus, living room furniture was comfortable and clean.. I can't overstate what a difference this makes at the end of a long day. Bonus space: Front picnic area and back deck provided extra dining and personal space. Makes you say 'ahhhh'. Kitchen: very well equipped. I have food allergies so cooking is essential for me. Location: We were able to do both Zion and the Toadstools from this location. Nearby ponderosa ranch is a resort, which attracts families, groups, etc. It was nice to have it sort of nearby, yet we were thankful for our little oasis away from that madness. Layout: Love one floor living, made for easy load in. Bedrooms were well situated. Easy, comfortable layout. We were two friends traveling together and this gave us plenty of space. With the front and back areas and nice living room, it provides ample space for groups. Tips: 1. Read and print the info they provide. They've worked hard to provide extensive information. We made the mistake of thinking we could access it via phone while enroute. Like most of the area, cell phone coverage is spotty. Print those directions and important details in advance 2. Check in during daylight. The 4 star check in was due to challenges we had finding it at night. Also, the road to the property originates inside the Ponderosa, which is not something we do in the Northeast. 3. Supplies: Believe them when they say to get supplies in advance. Sol Market in Springdale makes Whole Foods look like the dollar store. Buy your supplies at Walmart in Vegas or Salt Lake. You will not see one here. 4. Water. Due to being on a well, drinking water must be bottled. They supplied about 12 bottles, but we needed much more for our hiking and living needs. Buy in advance or pay dearly locally. This was a great spot. I highly recommend it!
If you want total tranquility this is the place for you. Alex is a fantastic host. We got lost on our way there but Alex sent us the pin for Google maps and we made it there. The place has a homey feel, we felt very comfortable. The everything is well stocked, including the kitchen. We are from Chicago where the noise levels are always high. Zion Time Retreat was so peaceful, all you hear is the wildlife. At night sit on the deck or in the hot tub and look up, you will see the most amazing stars. The Ponderosa lodge has lots of activities. We did the sunset horseback ride. The boys that took us out were amazing and have a lot of knowledge about the area. Doc and Raisin our horses are very sweet. We hiked The Narrows, in Zion National park which is challenging but fun. Bring a walking stick. We would recommend Alex’s property to anyone who wants to be out in nature, away from everything but still have the comforts of home. FYI: Don’t stop at Sol Foods in Springdale for groceries, they are very expensive. We shopped at Terry’s food & drug in Orderville.
