Stayed Sep 8, 2018Perfectly clean. Spotless. Good communication even we don't speak Italian and Pino does not speak English. Only think to complain about is internet. It did not work 90% of the time. Overall experience very good ! Be aware parking is an issue. Not only in this place but in all Italy.

Stayed Jun 12, 2018We enjoyed getting a feel for the Italian living experience, where we stayed in an apartment among locals. Pino, our host, was great. He was extremely kind and helpful. A wonderful, quaint stay.

Stayed Sep 12, 2025We made the best of a challenging situation. The host, Pino, made every effort to accommodate us; HOWEVER, he speaks no English yet continues to speak non-stop) in Italian, knowing we do not speak Italian. The apartment is NOT in La Spezia, but 4-5 miles in another very hilly village where you cannot get a taxi. There “parking available” is @ 1/4 mile away if you are lucky, on a very narrow street. In other words, no parking, so renting a car is problematic. Therefore you can try taking a bus if you want to figure where the bus stops are nearest this pedestrian neighborhood. Otherwise you are beholden to Pino, who is very happy to drive you, which is not complimentary to one’s’ independence. The adjacent neighbor plays her news radio loudly starting early in the morning, all day, and goes right into master bedroom & kitchen. The kitchen and bathroom are fine. The water pressure in shower is great. The bedrooms are both comfortable. All in all the apartment is fine, in a charming, historic, pedestrian neighborhood. Our only complaint was the lack of independence and being beholden to Pino.

Stayed May 17, 2025It was very convenient that Pino could drive us from and to the railway station, grazie! He would even do more if we would have wanted so. The appartment was clean and spacious enough. The terrace is nice to have breakfast in the morning sun with a view. The village has beautiful small streets, it is quiet and there it not much to do, but is is possible to order food if you don't have a car. The places to visit are reachable by bus and train.

Stayed Apr 22, 2025From the very start, Pino is the most gracious and caring host. He even did a little arranging of our lost American selves…. He came and found us and directed us to correct bus and stop. Always there if you need. The apartment is tucked away and has a lovely view of the water. Everything we needed was there and I even learned some Italian. Absolutely worth 10 stars. Stay here and be a good guest and you will cherish every moment of La Spezia and Cinque Terra.

Stayed Oct 29, 2024This property is in the pretty village of Marola on the Gulf of Poets just a short bus ride from La spezia and Portovenere. A truly lovely and traditional apartment with a patio overlooking the gulf . Our host Pino was a lovely gentleman who was so kind - he picked us up from station took us shopping and took us back to the station. This is a great place to stay and is highly recommended.

Stayed Apr 23, 2024The host is so sweet, he took good care of me and showed me everything. The flat is nice and the view from the balcony wonderful. It's a bit tricky to get around on foot, it's better to have a car or take the bus, coz there are mainly big streets with no walking option if you want to go to another part of the city or to the ocean. But Pino offered to drive me to where I want to go. And there is a small way up the hill and it's beautiful to walk there. La Spezia is quite pretty with its small and narrow streets.

Stayed Jun 28, 2023Pino was in fact a super host! He did everything and more for us - from the minute we arrived he went above and beyond for us, doing everything possible to make our stay in Marola amazing - picking us up from the station and even accompanying us to the shopping centre. We truly felt like we were living in the town for the 5 days we were there. The bus stop is just a short walk away and the house itself was perfect - clean, comfortable, cozy. The community was also super welcoming and friendly, and I truly don’t think the reviews of this place can do it enough justice. We 100% recommend this accomodation. Lots of love, Antonia, Pia & Sophie

Stayed Aug 17, 2022The property rental has two components. First, the property itself is quaint with a beautiful, relaxing deck to enjoy an ocean view. The neighborhood is very cute as well. Second, the host, Pino, exceeded any and all expectations. I’d travel back just with the hope to see him again. He helped us out with plans every day, drove us to local spots, and always brought laughter/fun. La Spezia, the neighboring towns and the property are well worth visiting and Pino does his best to guarantee you’ll leave feeling the same way.

Stayed Jun 20, 2022We stayed here as a base to get to Cinque Terre. The apartment has a lovely back patio overlooking the navy yard and harbor. We were happy to find out the there was a washing machine! Pino, the host was the best part! He picked us up at the train station and took us back when we were leaving. He loves his city and his enthusiasm is contagious! The apartment is close to bus stops. Restaurants are limited in the neighborhood but it is truly a neighborhood feel with narrow streets and winding staircases. We will stay longer and take Pino’s advice to visit Portovenere on our next trip!
