Our stay at Whispering Meadow was everything we had hoped for and more. Situated in the Monongahela forest, it is as described in the listing. You're surrounded by woods, birds, animals, a flowing river in your backyard, and the majestic mountains of course. The cabin is old, but squeaky clean. The wood-burning fireplace with a stone chimney is a nice touch, the back porch, a little piece of wooded bliss, and the front porch offering a grand view of the mountains and the meadow. If you're looking for a comfortable experience in the heart of nature, Christine's place will not disappoint. Our youngest traveling companion, a 13 month old infant baby, was at ease and super happy in this environment. This property is also conveniently located within 20 minutes drive to grocery stores and restaurants in downtown Elkins. It was easy to shop, and cook meals in Christine's well-equipped kitchen. There are quite a few hiking trails in the vicinity: within a 10 minute drive. We were unable to complete all of them. I'm looking forward to returning another time.

I don't have enough words to describe the experience we had at this cabin. The location was perfect for a weekend getaway, especially for those who desire to escape the noise and distractions of big cities. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Chris was a great host, and she gave us great recommendations in terms of where to grab food, explore and enjoy our time in and around the area. I'll be definitely coming back!

If you’re looking for a place to get lost in the mountains and a scenic view this is the place!! Christine and Philip were very good hosts! My boyfriend and I , felt very welcomed ! They were very informative as well. They not only gave us a tour of the cabin but also gave us a few suggestions for things we could do. The property was beautiful ! I enjoyed walking down by the river and walking the paths ! Whispering meadows has lots to offer ! Definitely will be back!

The house was great. Everything was clean and inviting. The host was also very helpful and the property is beautiful. It's near all the good fishing and outdoor recreation areas and very private.

Chris is a excellent host and I will definitely be returning. I also consider it a privilege she allows other people to share her cabin. If you want peace and quiet or a place to fish or just hang out with friends whispering meadows is it. The property is one of a kind getaway to relax and enjoy Mother Nature at her finest. It is a dedicated wildlife habitat that Chris takes pride in caring for and it takes a lot of dedication. I spent most of my time at whispering meadows staring out the windows watching the deer and the cardinals who have a nest out back . Then I’d grab my waders and fishing pole and wonder the river fishing many of the deep holes . Shavers fork is right out back you can hear the river from the cabin. It’s crystal clear water that’s excellent for fishing or tubing . The river has carved out a interesting area that acts as a overflow for the river and a additional eco system to explore. Also can’t forget the island Another fun place to explore and see critters. The cabin is clean comfortable and has everything you need. There is a tv but I never used it and would be good for a rainy day. There’s a deck out back and a porch that are perfect for hanging or sitting and staring at the stars that are so bright. If you get the privilege to stay here please remember not only is Chris hosting you but she also a host to all of the animals who call the meadow area home. Respect the animals home and take a minute to understand why these places are so important and why they exist.
