Yosemite National Park, California
The first level has a gourmet kitchen that opens to the dining area, living room, and large deck with a gas grill. The living room has a wood burning stove fireplace, a 50 inch flat screen TV/DVD & Satellite, satellite WiFi is free (the wifi speed in unreliable for video streaming and video calling). Has plenty of space and light with its 22-foot cathedral ceiling and its many windows. There is a dining area, that seats 8. Just off the living room, dining area, there is a private den, with a futon.
The second level has 2 bedrooms with a queen bed in each, and a full-size bathroom. The master bedroom suite is on the third level and has a master bathroom, with a Jacuzzi bathtub. This knotty pine chalet is located in a secluded section of Yosemite West on a cul-de-sac road with lots of trees. This home is great for entertaining. There are 3 parking spots over the summer months, and 2 over winter months.
I had a two family group with me and this location was able to accomodate everyone. The only complaints were the lack of AC and Wi-Fi, this is still by far a great summer spot!
My wife and I have been renting vacation homes for over 20 yrs. If this were the first home ever rented it would have been the last. An up scale looking vacation home from the outside, the furniture and bed were comfortable but that’s where all positive aspects end. The kitchen was inadequately stocked; salt, pepper, cinnamon and sugar were the only condiments. Unless you bring all your necessities, forget about cooking. The BBQ was disgusting… when I took the cover off, saw the grill and looked at cleaning brush; I put the cover back on. The washer and dryer were locked up behind a door labeled private. The statement that the home is located in the mountains and doesn’t need air-conditioning is a BLACK LIE!! We arrived on Sept 6th and it was 90 degrees, if it’s so cool in the mountains, why were there fans in every bedroom? No wifi was stated and I learned much to my dismay I’ll never rent a home without wifi again. Bottom line I feel we were ripped off renting this property. To bad it’s a nice looking vacation home; but , the lack of amenities render it a loser. STAY AWAY!!
The property suited our multi generation family of 8. We cooked in for breakfast and supper so we used the kitchen a lot. The dinnerware was minimal but everything was functional. Fans provided cooling in the evenings but because the rules stated all windows must be closed when guests are away, the house was stuffy in the evening when we returned each day from our summer adventures in Yosemite.
Nice house, clean and spacious. Kitchen a bit basically equipped. Surprised not to find a washing machine in a house of this size. For anyone attending in the next year, note there are plenty of building works going on nearby including both sides of the house (although they didn't disturb us a great deal). Overall convenient for Yosemite main valley but thats about it.
Very well maintained, place is nice, beautiful location close to Yosemite Natl. Park, has everything you need to cook with, perfect for family get-togethers, heater worked well in the winter cold and snow, the drive is a little iffy in the winter would like to be closer to Hwy. 41 when it is snowing. My wife thought everything was perfect! Would love to rent it again!
Enjoyed our stay. Home as described. Fully furnished kitchen (missing cookie sheet). Clean. Some furniture could use updating but was overlooked due to overall satisfaction. Flashlights would come in handy when power outage occurs, as did during our stay. Great house for 2 families. Close to Badger Pass and Valley. Great time had by all! Thanks!
Beautiful home and stunning drive into Yosemite Valley. Spacious master bedroom, large well equipped kitchen and two full baths made this 4 bedroom house very comfortable for our family of seven. Please consider adding step stool in kitchen to reach dishes in very high cabinets.
The cabin was clean and as advertised. The check in and out process was very easy. My family had a great time and the value compared to the hotels in the valley was fantastic. The firewood for the fireplace was nice. The drive to the valley floor was as advertised at right about 25 minutes and it is a very pretty drive passing tunnel lookout. There was no cell service which was a nice way to be forced to disconnect.
