One of the best parts of this house is that the Boone Fork of the Watauga River adjoins the property. You are allowed to fly fish or wade within the property line to the middle of the river and it offers the best fly fishing to be had. The Boone Fork is the water coming from Price Lake on the Blue Ridge Parkway, with Simms Creek, Green Branch, and Bee Tree Creek (all on Park Service Land) flowing into the Boone Fork before entering Twin Rivers. Boone Fork is the only stream in the entire Watauga River Basin that is classified as “Outstanding Resource Waters.” The NC Division of Water Quality classified the water quality of the Creek as “excellent.” The Creek also supports exemplary natural communities and a number of rare plant and animal species.
This cabin on the river truly offers a unique opportunity for solitude or solidarity in one of the most beautiful and enticing natural settings available in the High Country.

I really can't commit on this property. We did rent it out.... but on our way to the property about 2 1/2 hours on our 4 hour drive I got a call saying the heat wasn't working and they had to find us another house similar to this one. Let me tell you...this momma's world went crashing in a matter of seconds because I thought Christmas was going to be ruined!
Great location, very clean. Property manager friendly and easy to work with.
Rental company is great, cabin was dusty, dirty dishes in cabinet, and couldn’t walk on floor barefoot without bottom of feet being black. Love the river, beautiful quiet location, all the room was great!
The scenery was beautiful. The cabin was dated but adequate for our group. The master bathroom had black mold on the ceiling, there were long black hair from previous renters stuck on the shower walls. The mini fridge in the game room had mold in it. The pull out bed was covered in crumbs and peanut shells. Cobwebs were in the shower and in the corners of home. Outside chairs were broken. Step leading to stream was broken. Refrigerator was dirty as was the oven. Also, the entire week we were there, when sitting on the back deck there was an awful rotting smell. But the best was being given the finger by a gentleman in a red pick up truck because we happened to be leaving out of the dirt road as he was coming in very dangerously! This same red truck was later spotted parked by the chapel.
What a lovely property ! Right on the river and so calm and serene .
We loved the house just a few things I will point out. 1. The bathroom off the dining room door knob does not work and grandson got locked in. 2. Water was turned off to the dishwasher 3. Trash can lid locks do not work. Trash was left in (not ours) and bears came at 2am first night. Need better way to secure trash from bears. 4. A folder of places to go and places to eat would be good. We found some places on the way out, took us right at the dog place and had no clue there were restaurants that way that looked really cool Fishing was awesome We loved the seclusion of the house Overall it was a great experience and we will recommend to our friends that are heading that direction.
Nice place
The house was the perfect size for a larger group. Fits 10 people perfectly with extra space. Beautiful view of the creek and very peaceful.
Property was great location near Boone for MLK weekend. Beautiful scenic view of the creek creating relaxing vibe.
We had a great time at Wounded Fork!! It was so spacious and had a great view of the river. There were six of us, so we all had plenty of room and one twin bed to spare. We went to Beech Mountain to go skiing and it was only 25 mins away. I highly recommend it!
Loved the secluded neighborhood! Very cute property
We had a fantastic stay at Wounded Fork with our entire family!
We really enjoyed our stay at Wounded Fork. Getting to the property was a little weird but once we got there it was wonderful. I liked how private it was and quiet. It was so nice to sit by the stream and just listen to the water going by. The house was clean and very roomy. The location was very convenient to everything we wanted to do. Went to Grandfather Mt., traveled the parkway, and went to Blowing Rock. We had a little trouble with the heater but great communication and it was dealt with quickly. We would definitely love to stay here again.
this property is very remote...be aware 4 wheel drive is useful even in summer. Odd layout and needed some repairs....especially to deck spindles...many rotted out. some rooms had so many light switches it was confusing...master bath had 6! beds were comfortable. overall stay was good.
