This was our 2nd stay in this house. The 1st time was Summer 2022. We had a very Merry Christmas in this lovely home. We were able to set up a little tree, and enjoy a mountain Christmas. It didn’t snow as we had hoped, and the ski resort was not open yet…but we still had a great time. I know that the house is for sale, and I’m sure they will have no problem selling it. I will miss it though.
The big back porch has a fantastic long range sunset view. House has everything you need. Plenty of pots and pans and utensils if you like to cook. Easy to get to. Friendly and helpful neighbors. The host is responsive and close by if needed. Temps were high 50s in the mornings and mid 70s in the afternoons during the July summer heat wave that was all over the news. Easy to get to with plenty of parking. Access to the golf course, clubhouse and other amenities came with the rental here.
The house is lovely with a well-appointed kitchen. There is lots of room for family or friends to be together or spread out and have some privacy. It sits on the top of a mountain with views from the back porch and deer that walk through the yard on a regular basis. While the address is technically Mars Hill, the property is actually 25 minutes from the town of Mars Hill (and from the closest grocery store) down some windy mountain roads. Because of the high elevation, it was way too cold to take advantage of the community swimming pool even in the middle of June. While we enjoyed our stay, it was not quite what we expected.
We rented this home because we enjoy snow sking and we thought we would try Wolf Laurel ski resort this year. This home is wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay here. It is very large and plenty of room for everyone. We were able to cook for a large group and it has a large table that also accommodated us very well. Bobby was a wonderful host and was very attentive to us. While we were off skiing, one of our family members got locked out and he didn't hesitate to come to the rescue. We couldn't thank him enough for all he did to make our stay most enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this home and will stay again if we are ever in the area!
