ABOUT THE HOUSE + PROPERTY:

Located on the “quiet” side of the Smokies, Whittier Woods Retreat is a 2,000 sq. ft.house with sweeping mountain views and just 15 minutes from the entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Spend your time relaxing on the covered deck as you take in the majestic mountain views and sunrises, roasting marshmallows around the fit pit, enjoying family style meals around the large table, cooking together in the fully stocked kitchen, playing games from our collection of lawn and board games, reading a book and sipping an early morning beverage in the coffee nook. Nearby, you can also explore the local, small towns and magical national park or Blue Ridge Parkway trails.
With a modern-meets-classic design, our recently renovated house maintains a classic feel with a beautiful stone fireplace and pine walls, balanced with a modern style and amenities to meet your needs.

The two levels of space are perfect for a family with kids, a family with grandparents, two families sharing the upstairs/downstairs space, or simply a group who would like their own separate spaces. This space is also ideal for groups in town for weddings or family gatherings.

Put the kids to bed early and still enjoy the living room, kitchen, deck and mountain views. Enjoy reading or relaxing in the two cozy reading chairs while staying warm by the gas logs from the indoor stone fireplace. This property provides a secluded feel and is located at the end of a private road separate from the surrounding neighbors. The spacious, flat yard is perfect for dogs and kids alike to play, and the tucked away fire pit area offers the opportunity to stargaze in a clear, non-light interfered setting. Located on just under six acres, this property offers a unique, tucked away feel, and yet offers easy access to many popular amenities and local attractions.

The upstairs master bedroom has a king-sized bed. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed, and the third bedroom has three full sized beds. There is also a separate space with a queen pull-out sofa. Both upstairs and downstairs include separate entertainment areas, each with 55” TVs. Downstairs also includes a foosball table and a table for playing games or teleworking.

The house has been COMPLETELY remodeled and includes many high-end touches to make you feel at home! Here are the most recent improvements:

--Our fully updated kitchen has everything you need, including: a new refrigerator, electric range, dishwasher (added May 2023), microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster oven, along with plates and utensils

--Two renovated bathrooms, one on each level of the house

--New luxury vinyl flooring installed throughout the house

--Deck with all new boards

OUR PROPERTY IS PET FRIENDLY!

We do allow dogs on the property, upon further details about the size and breed, and only on the bottom floor of the house. There is a gate at the bottom level stairs to prevent animals from getting upstairs. Pets must be kept off beds and furniture. All pet waste should also be picked up from the yard and placed in the designated station; if there is pet waste left outside, there may be an additional fee.

LOCATION:

The property is located just 5 minutes off Hwy 441 and is easily accessible to the Great Smoky Mountain Park entrance, several cute towns (Sylva, Bryson City), along with convenient day trips to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg or Asheville (to visit the Biltmore, multiple breweries, or to Float the French Broad River). For the small town explorers, we are conveniently located near Franklin, Sylva, Dillsboro, Waynesville, and Highlands/Cashiers, NC. We are also close by the Tuckasegee River, which offers fantastic tubing.
This property has many attractions located close by for dining, shopping, breweries, hiking, kayaking, tubing, boating, golfing, fishing, biking, motorcycling, and scenic waterfalls.

SOME THINGS TO NOTE:

--Our maximum occupancy is 8.

--Decent call reception with Verizon and AT&T.

--The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, baking sheets, utensils, etc. Everything you need to make a basic meal at home (or even a holiday dinner!) is provided.

--All linens and towels are included, along with a starter set of toiletries, paper products, coffee, and kitchen supplies.

--Washer and dryer available for your use during your stay, along with an iron and ironing board.

--The driveway is somewhat steep and is gravel. It has been recently graded and should present no issue to vehicles.
