Location of the property is nice. Especially being a former through-hiker of the AT it was nice to be close to the NOC.Also, the proximity to other points of interest is great. But now the however. A big part of being in the mountains is to enjoy the outdoor area. This location failed miserably. A need to knock out dirty cushions to sit in the also dirty rock n chairs, and a very dirty glass top table with dirty , oxidizing plastic chairs. Not very inviting. And the visual of a run-down sitting area down the hillside is a sign that apparently the owners no longer care about impressions. Along with some rot on the exterior walls of the home. The interior of the home is overall good. I have learned that apparently a VRBO is a self-service place to stay. Needed towels still in the dryer to be folded and located to the bathroom on your own. A dirty stove door with pans that are old and nasty looking to reheat pizza. Have learned that apparently it is standard to be asked to strip the beds and put to wash and take out the garbage. An envelope, on a table with cobwebs on the bottom, to leave a tip. Really? At least clean the table outside. All of this makes me wonder what the 75-dollar cleaning fee is for I believe a classic. Them damn Yankees, they move to FL because it is too cold and then to NC because it is too hot! Only to lose interest in the cabin in the mountains as a permanent home or summer get away. So, let's turn it into a managed VRBO.
