Stayed Sep 26, 2025The location of the house was perfect, and we loved the amenities inside and out. The gas fireplace was exactly what we needed for a cozy movie night as the evenings became cooler (the thermostat did need a little jiggling to get working). The house is beautifully decorated and really imparts the coastal charm of a Cape rental. We didn't use the outdoor fire pit, outdoor shower, grill, or the little shed of supplies, but we would definitely have appreciated them if we did! The whip-poor-wills were a delight to hear at night (the bird the street was named after). We did have a few setbacks during our stay, one of which we had handled by NEVR as soon as their office was open the following day. I do wish the property had a greater attention to cleanliness. The floors need a proper mopping, more than what a Swiffer can accomplish. The shower needs mold treatment and new caulk (or to be bath-fit). There were animals in the attic that sounded like mice or squirrels, which led the bedroom to smell a little animal-y, and there were mouse droppings in the lower range drawer where sheet pans were stored. Unfortunately, this mouse problem will likely come with the territory, just like the numerous spiders, due to the house being in the woods.

Stayed Aug 22, 2020Property was fine with a few concerns. There are LOTS of coyotes in the area. Was warned by neighbor upon arrival not to let dog out at all w/o being present. For a smaller breed, this could be a disaster. We heard them often, very close, and saw one lg one in driveway...in the daylight. Battled spiders all week...one night, killed around a dozen. I HATE spiders and if bigger would have contacted manager...needs treatment. Odd selection of dishes and no good storage for non perishable foods. Game selection was random and parts missing to some.

Stayed Jul 11, 2020Cottage is a bit dated but well maintained. Very relaxing setting adjacent to woods and private homes. A good deal for the price point.

Stayed Aug 24, 2019Cute little house close to many of the nicest beaches, restaurants and shops on the Cape. My only complaint is that I wish the air conditioners were a little cleaner- I have terrible allergies and the filter were very dirty. Otherwise, a great stay in a lovely, clean cottage.

Stayed Jul 20, 2019The house was great! Clean and very comfortable. Our only complaint were the bugs. It's either a window was slightly open of which we're not aware or the a/c window units were not properly sealed. Other than that, the house was lovely! We certainly appreciated having a/c throughout and how clean the place was. Loved seeing a completely empty and pristine refrigerator! Also, I thought customer service was top notch. We were there when the tornado hit Harwich and contacting New England Vacations was not an issue at all. Back and forth communications were open and productive which we immensely appreciated.

Stayed Jun 30, 2018My family and I enjoyed this house. It is dated, and you cannot use more than one appliance at a time or it will blow a fuse. It smells a little musky, all of my belongings had to be washed (But had not been worn) because of this. There are no linens. The house is quite small, but well maintained. Beaches such a Cold Storage and Mayflower are 20 minutes away, and you have to get there prior to 7:30 am or you will not get a spot. The town beach is nice but extremely small and only about 5-10 minutes away. Many items are already in the home such as extra soap for dishwasher/saran wrap/pots/pans/laundry soap. I wish I had known this prior to staying as I packed many items I did not need. This is a cute little house, but we would want something a little bit bigger the next time we go to the cape, just my own preference. Dunkin Donuts is a short walk at the end of the road! VRBO was very good and prompt at returning my call and answering any questions that I had.
