Very pleasant stay at the Short Dog Retreat. Robert is professional and responsive. The property is clean inside and out. The rear yard is private and relaxing. And the neighborhood is nice.

We had an amazing time at this house! The pool was a huge hit, and the place had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect and close to everything but still nice and quiet.As a family of six, including two little ones under two, having the pool right outside was a game changer. It made it so easy to enjoy the day while working around nap times, which take up a good chunk of our schedule. The house was clean, well-stocked, and we didn’t run into a single issue.We’ll definitely be coming back for another stay in the future!

Great stay. Kids enjoyed the pool. It is not deep but worked well for younger children.

Property was very nice. It was clean and had everything you needed in the bedrooms and the kitchen. Pool was very nice. Short walk to the beach. Everything was perfect and we will definitely stay again.

Short Dog Retreat makes you feel like you’re at home while on vacation. I would highly recommend for a family vacation especially if you’re traveling with children. Plenty of room in the house with four adults and three children under 5 years old. The property hosts are very responsive. House is clean with tons of bathroom towels and beach towels. All the essentials you need for the beach including a wagon, umbrella and beach chairs. Walking distance to ice cream shop, candy store, pizza, seafood, and Mexican restaurant. There is a park right across the street and the house is in a great neighborhood. 10/10 will stay here again. Also, backyard pool is perfect for a family with children.

Great place for a family trip! We have stayed at many places and usually find the accommodations lacking some basic essentials BUT not here at Short Dog. The house sits on a quite street a block away from all the tourist attractions and 4 minute walk to the beach. ( I timed it ) Two great bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and a very nice kitchen. Everyday things like soap, toilet paper, paper towels, even laundry detergents are stocked. You will pack like its a normal rental but wont need it. Family, food and good attitudes are all you need. We had a great stay and the owner is fast to respond. 5 STARS

Short Dog Retreat was beyond expectations. First I have to say Robert, our host, is one of the best hosts I’ve dealt with. He was extremely helpful and quick to respond every time I reached out to him. Originally my husband & I were booked at a property on Anna Maria island which was canceled due to hurricane Helene. I reached out to Robert at the last minute; he responded right away and was able to get us into the property the next day. The property, wow. What a perfect place. Extremely clean, so much room, and in a perfect location. Just a block to the beach only a few minutes walk. Also, close to dining and shopping. The garage had plenty of beach goodies, so if you forget something, there’s a good chance it’s already there. Kitchen is stocked pretty much just as if you are at home. Beds are comfortable. Decor fits the vibe. The pool is so relaxing, whether just a quick dip or spending the day or evening in it. Just awesome. Absolutely will book this property again, actually thinking about making this an annual trip.

I’m pretty sure the kids spent more time in the pool than the beach! Deff a win with kids!!!
