Stayed Oct 28, 2025Very well stocked kitchen and could walk to a great restaurant down the hill. Parking is difficult if more than one vehicle and even the steep, tight turn into the underground garage was challenging with a larger vehicle. Property is immaculate for cleanliness but garbage bags were hard to find as they were not in the same location as the instruction sheet. The second spare room bed is small, maybe just a double? Master has the king bed. So for two couples, it was disappointing the second set of adults got such a small bed. Very busy street location but walkable to many things so very convenient. 30 minutes to Salem which is where we were going and lots of hiking in the area too and Hammond Castle which I highly recommend. Seaport Grille across the road to eat is super handy and delicious.

Stayed Sep 22, 2025We hsd a very comfortable 5 night stay. Great neighborhood, with an easy walk to town. Loved the sunroom and living area off of the kitchen, as well as the Master suite. I also really appreciated the garage, having a rental car. Kathy checked in regularly and left good instructions for everything. Highly recommend.

Stayed Jun 25, 2025This is our second visit to this Friend Street location in three years and we loved every day onsite. You always return to the great places. This house is well equipped with every item you may wish to have while on a vacation including a grand piano in the living room. We love Kathy, the owner, who has a hands on manner of maintaining the house. Finally, the house offers a beautiful view of the Gloucester harbor and is centrally located within the city for anyone to visit most tourist locations. We our already planning our return visit. Thanks again Kathy.

Stayed May 17, 2025Kathy was a terrific host and this home is lovely. It is large with multiple living spaces, very clean, organized and inviting. The Sun Room got the most use so we could watch the fishing boats come and go and just enjoy each others company. The kitchen is a dream - quite large with everything you need and then some! The primary bedroom and ensuite bath was perfect for us. The king size bed was quite comfortable with high quality linens (so important and appreciated!). The weather was not the best the week we were there so we utilized the wood-burning stove and it was delightful. Warmed up the whole first floor. The home is close to everything in Gloucester! The train station, downtown, restaurants and the harbor are all within a 5-7 minute drive. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance. Kathy left a wealth of information on the area, the beaches, restaurants, etc. which was greatly appreciated. When we had a couple rainy days, she had indoor recommendations as well - we went Candle pin bowling for the first time and had a blast (also 5 minutes away)! Rockport is less that 15 minutes - we thoroughly enjoyed Halibut Point State Park and my son enjoyed downtown Rockport. We walked the Harbor walk out to Stage Fort Park. The train made the commute to Salem (30min) and Boston (60min) very convenient. Kathy was very accommodating, and very responsive to my texts, questions or requests. I would highly recommend this home and Kathy.

Stayed Mar 18, 2025This home could not have been more perfect for our visit to Gloucester! We were four retired siblings meeting up for some special time together. The sunroom was the icing of the cake. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Stayed Jul 23, 2024We had a lovely week-long stay at this beautiful home in Gloucester. The home is well furnished, spotlessly clean and well stocked with kitchen items, towels, soaps, beach supplies, etc. Everything you could possibly need or want in a vacation rental. The owner, Kathy, goes out of her way to prepare her home for you and she communicates before and during your stay to answer any questions. The view from the sunroom and upstairs bedroom is spectacular the beds are comfy. We had no complaints at all. Kathy provides all the details of the home in the description so there should be no surprises. Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed Jun 10, 2024This house has a view of the inner harbor from both the Sunroom and the Master BR. The interior has been nicely updated. The parking was a nightmare with 2 SUVs. The house itself is not handicap friendly with stairs required for access from the garage (the only reliable parking) and the 3 bedrooms. We found that we only used about half the house because we spent our time in the Sunroom or the kitchen. The light switches were placed in unusual spots that made it hard to figure out (not always in the room you would be using). The overall rating reflects the parking issues and most importantly to us, the lack of facilities for an elderly or handicapped person. The host was responsive when we e-mailed her.
