Stayed Nov 26, 2025We had a great time over Thanksgiving weekend it was quiet and had all the amenities to have a relaxing weekend. We enjoyed breakfast on the heated porch and roasting marshmallows on the firepit near the water.

Stayed Sep 30, 2025The kitchen is not huge, but is relatively modern and was more than adequate to accommodate the needs of three adults and small dog. The dining room table is quite large. The family room area has big comfy chairs and sofa for lounging around the electric fireplace, which generates a surprising amount of heat on chilly days. We appreciated for the first-floor bedroom and bath for the elderly member of our party, who doesn't do well on stairs. The two upstairs bedrooms are a good size, and the upstairs bath is very large. One of our favorite parts of this home is the large, enclosed front porch. It was wonderful to sit out there during all hours of the day, watching the water and the boats go by. The windows open if you want to feel the breeze, but you will appreciate the enclosed area on cold, windy days. There is a spectacular show every evening as the sun sets almost directly in front of the property. We stayed at Waterfront Wonder in October 2024, and returned a year later in October 2025. If you are looking for a super-modernized house, don't stay here. This home has some updates, but it is over a hundred years old. Its beautiful wood floors and trim are part of the home's wonderful character.

Stayed Sep 30, 2024I recently completed a stay at Waterfront Wonder. There were no problems with Seaside Rentals. The staff were helpful and answered my calls. I rented this place for specific reasons. I needed a first floor bedroom for my 84-year old mother. I needed a place that was pet-friendly for Mom's dog. FYI, yard is not fenced for dogs. And, I wanted a house with a water view, because Mom loves to see the water. The Waterfront Wonder fulfilled my requirements. Additionally, the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, flatware, pots, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, and toaster oven. The rooms were clean, and the beds were comfy. There was a big TV in the downstairs living room, a TV in the first floor bedroom, and one in one of the upper bedrooms. However - do not rent the Waterfront Wonder if you are looking for a renovated, fancy home with modern amenities. This is one of the older homes on Chincoteague Island, and it has not been updated. And you know what? We didn't care! Waterfront Wonder keeps lot of its original character, such as wood trim around the doors and windows, squeaky wooden floors, and a steep staircase with solid wood banister. The bathrooms are not 100 years old, but they are dated. However, they worked fine, had good water pressure, and had grab bars in the shower and tub. We loved fishing from the private pier, and the million-dollar views of Chincoteague Bay. Truly the best sunsets on the island! Thank you, Waterfront Wonder and Seaside!

Stayed Jun 12, 2024This was a girls' trip for my two daughters (ages 11 and 14), my mother-in-law, and my sister-in-law, and this house was the perfect set up and layout for our needs. Enough room for all of us to sleep comfortably, and enough gathering space for us to be together or enjoy solo time. We absolutely loved the front patio area for playing cards in the evening, or enjoying our coffee in the morning. The dock and Adirondack chairs across the street were just perfect for watching the most magical sunsets -- Absolutely spectacular! And the location of the home was just perfect for us - nicely accessible to town (about a mile), but happy to be removed from extra noise, etc. And, lastly, having the driveway right next door to the small produce store was just fantastic for some breakfast fruit! The one thing I will caution is that the house is older - very clean and nicely maintained (and the one issue we had was promptly resolved), but older homes come with some quirks - ie. very creaky stairs, older showers, etc. In no way would I deter that from staying here, but I just make it as a point of mention. Thank you again for a wonderful stay - we all loved and hope to return again soon!
