Stayed Oct 11, 2025Very nice place , came for a few days to fish with my boat. The outdoor area was great ,the fish cleaning station was a plus for cleaning our catch each day. The tides got really low at the place so fishing from the dock was hit or miss. We did catch an 18 inch spotted trout and a redfish when the tide came in. I would not advise docking your boat there because of the low tides. Caught several blue crab and mullet from the dock as well. The only flaw i had were the beds there, uncomfortable with springs in your back. If those got upgraded would give the place 5 stars!!!

Stayed Apr 11, 2025Everything was great with great weather. Home was nicely furnished but the commercial ice maker did not work. Also, description stated implied onsite fishing but fishing was not practical, especially during low tides. But overall the home accommodations were more than adequate.

Stayed Oct 24, 2024We enjoyed our stay immensely - the property is perfectly appointed with every amenity you can possibly need, and we especially enjoyed fishing and relaxing in the downstairs sitting area by the fire pit. We already made a reservation to come back in the spring!

Stayed Sep 19, 2024We have been staying in the Panacea and Sopchoppy area for the last seven years for family weekends at FSU. Our place was very nicely decorated in a quiet area with a great dock however, when we arrived there were pretzels or crackers on the floor in each carpeted room. We wouldn’t have said anything about it until we were constantly fighting German cockroaches coming out while we were preparing our food or cooking in the kitchen. We are born and raised in Florida and we are very well aware of palmetto bugs but these were the German roaches. It was unacceptable that we had to deal with that on our 3 night stay. We would not be able to find another place to stay in such a short notice and have to pay more fees. This place needs to have professional pest control immediately. There are evidence of roaches in the flatware drawers, cabinets where the glasses are and the cooking pans. We also found them each morning on the counters. The dishwasher hardware was also broken and it was a hassle to deal with when you were trying to clean dishes for a family of eight. The grass wasn’t cut either and we couldn’t play corn hole that we brought with our family. Paying over $300 a night, these items should have been taken care of before any guest arrived.

Stayed Jun 18, 20241) owners need to let boaters know that the bay where the home is located often has negative tides, the canal dock behind residence will not float a boat with a draft greater than 6 in low tide. There is a lift, but unless lift is set up specifically for your hull, it's not usable. Don't let dock space fool you... the bay is also treacherous with oyster beds everywhere. 2) all of the beds are uncomfortable. They are all spring and mattress all in one piece - on cheap metal spring $399 on Amazon beds and you can feel every coil through the mattress. They did provide us with a memory foam layer, but the gigantic depressions in the mattresses will literally swallow a normal size person, so once we put the topper on and then lay down in the bed, your butt sinks down to bed frame springs yes more springs in the frame, and you got all this memory foam wrapping up around you. 3) the linens on the beds are all synthetic - synthetic sheets and comforters and pillowcases and very hot. We always see cotton linens at this price point. 4) we travel all over the state of Florida to go fishing shrimping lobstering scalloping several times a year. And after all paid for - taxes, cleaning, admin fees... the nightly rate was right about $300 per night. Also taking into account that it is a 3/3 what we normally see at this price point is a fully stocked very comfortable home with hotel style beds and bedding. Great things: locale, ice machine, extra freezer fridge, shaded seating, space, decor
