You'll never forget the incredible waterfront setting of this three-bedroom home on the eastern shores of Bainbridge Island, where your panoramic view across Puget Sound stretches from Mt. Rainier in the south all the way north to Mt. Baker.
Dating back to the early 1900s, this historical home was the very first built on Rolling Bay Walk. Today, it enjoys a stunning position across the walk from a pebbly beach, allowing you to observe orcas, otters, bald eagles, and other wildlife from the deck, living room, and kitchen (with a telescope and binoculars on hand to assist you). And when the sun sets, enjoy incredible stargazing.
The interior of this single-level home is bright and beautifully decorated in a refined coastal style. The focal point of the living room are the generous windows framing Puget Sound, complemented by several seating vignettes (including a six-person dining table) and a wood-burning fireplace.
After a day spent sailing, touring the island's 11 wineries, or strolling the streets of Winslow, you'll have both a well-appointed kitchen and a gas grill on the front porch to assist with dinner. As for evening entertainment, you'll have a gas firepit, three flatscreen TVs, and an assortment of board games, books, and records to choose from.

The views were perfect. You can even see Seattle while on the shore. We enjoyed being able to walk by the water and even saw some orcas. However, we found the beds very uncomfortable, and it was hard to sleep on them. We know the house is old and with that comes uneven floors, but there were trip hazards including the rugs.
I’d like to start with the pros for Seize The Bay: THE VIEW is to die for. This is why you choose this property. The house was very surface clean when we got there. Communication regarding check in, check out and any questions we needed answered, were all clear and quick. Nicely stocked kitchen. Beds were comfortable. Location is great as it is about a 15 min drive to get anywhere on the island. Cons: This doesn’t have to do with the house but still a con. The ferry to Bainbridge from Seattle was closed to cars 9/7 – 9/13 (we booked 9/11 – 9/14). Thank goodness I stumbled across this info while doing research on how to get to the island! Vacasa 100% should have told us this before booking. When we tried to cancel it was not up for discussion – a firm reply that seemed computer generated that said you are past the window to cancel. Disappointing. The house is old and it shows. Broken floor boards covered by throw rugs. Mold in the tub. Warped ceilings that appears to be caused by water damage. As mentioned it was surface clean but that mold, I’m guessing, is not able to be removed. A new tub and shower would really help make a difference. Throw pillows dirty and stains on some of the furniture and sheets. For the price per night I’d expect clean and/or new sheets. The grill handle completely fell off upon using the grill. It looked like it had been hanging on by one screw. Lastly, there was no propane in the outdoor fire so we were unable to use
Great!
The location was beautiful. When it was clear, you could see the Seattle Skyline. My kids had the best time exploring the beach. The house was nice and clean. We cooked in the kitchen and used the BBQ. There were no BBQ tools but we were able to make it work. Our biggest complaint was the drier did not work. Otherwise, we will definitely be back!
Clean beach rental home with recent lower end refurb. It’s an old house with uneven floors which is part of its charm. The not so good is the contractor who installed the new vinyl plank flooring did not level/fix the soft spots and the planks are already coming apart. The tub/shower is functional but needs replaced/updated. That’s the you get what you pay for part which is not a negative, the house meets value expectations. The Seattle view is AWESOME, watching the ship traffic, seals and otters is relaxing. Yes I would rent this place again.
My husband and I loved our 2 night stay at this lovely little sea cottage! We found it to be clean, comfortable, quiet, and perfectly equipped for our needs, which were mainly rest and relaxing! The photos accurately show how this cozy historic home has been tastefully redecorated and updated. But be prepared, as others have warned, there are definitely signs of its age (like uneven floors, unfinished basement where washer/dryer stored, no garbage disposal, and several original windows that don’t open). Kitchen is small but seems to have basic cooking needs covered. However after buying meat to bbq, we were very disappointed to find bbq on the deck was out of propane.? But, people… THE VIEW!!! Just amazing! We were mesmerized watching the distant sea crafts, city lights, and sunsets while sitting on the comfortable deck. Very little traffic on the narrow road since it dead ends down a ways, so that kept things quiet. We were visiting Sunday-Tuesday in mid September so there were no crowds and very pleasant weather. Just what we’d hoped for, so we highly recommend this small but beautiful home for your next peaceful retreat!
Shore front location, awesome sunrise!
We really enjoyed our stay. Well-equipped kitchen and nice deck furniture made it easy to entertain.
Spent 3 nights at this property. The place is as pictured, decorated beautifully and the kitchen was nicely stocked. Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor. Super quiet at all times. However, we came in the middle of a warm spell and the air conditioning either didn’t work or just isn’t up to par. The house was in the high 70s even running nonstop overnight. It wouldn’t be that much of an issue if there were screens on all the windows, but there were only screens on about half of them. I’m sure if visiting during a cooler time it wouldn’t have mattered. Even though it’s been remodeled the house is old, there are areas that could still use some attention, like the bathroom. Lacking some paper products (no kleenex or napkins) and contrary to the listing, there was no washer or dryer on the property.
We loved the house and it worked perfectly for our Bainbridge visit. It’s about 15 mins from town (if that). The waterfront location is a hidden gem! Neighbors were all extremely nice. Saw dolphins, seals and a whale. We brought some floats and enjoyed the water (bring your water shoes). There were some kids beach toys but no adult water toys. The grill and firepit were nice additions to the patio. We loved all the vintage board games! Only confusing part was how to handle trash and the lack of a kitchen size trash can. Another frying pan would have been nice for making breakfast. It did seem difficult to speak to a person but everything worked out through the Vacasa app.
This property has lots of character and has been updated tastefully. Thoroughly enjoyed our time exploring the island and hanging out on the deck.
Very comfortable and cozy place right on the beach. Well equipped kitchen and has great views of downtown Seattle and Mt Rainier from the beach. TVs in all the rooms, comfortable furniture and beds. We enjoyed our stay here.
