With a gorgeous waterfront setting on the shores of Hood Canal, this two-bedroom home offers all the inviting ambience of a plush Pacific Northwest lodge. You'll find beautiful craftsman features throughout, including vaulted ceilings with exposed natural beams, an impressive stone hearth (but please note that the fireplace is not for guest use), richly hued wood cabinetry, and large picture windows that bring in a commanding view of the water. When the weather's fine, you can bring a mug of coffee out to the deck and watch for passing otters in the morning or get the gas grill going for a barbecue lunch at the picnic table on the sheltered patio.
In the evenings, you can choose a DVD from the collection to watch on the TV and find some extra relaxation in the jetted bathtub. You'll have two bedrooms to choose from - a waterfront room with a queen-size bed and balcony access, and a guest room with two double beds with an en suite bathroom with a jetted tub/shower combination. The second full bathroom with a shower is in the hallway.
This beachfront home is set back from Highway 101 right on the western shores of Hood Canal. You'll be a few doors down from the Eldon Store, a charming grocery store and deli, and less than a mile from Hama Hama Oyster Saloon if you're looking to sample the local specialty. Olympic National Forest is practically at your doorstep, with Lake Cushman only 20 miles inland.

It was ok up until the mouse poop dropping from the ceiling. My kids were getting ready for bed and they started hearing mouse squeaking and then all of a sudden mouse poop started falling down from the cracks of the ceiling. We had to move the kids to the living room to sleep. The cleaning could be better as well. My son stepped on a dead wasp on the carpet in the living room. One of the bathrooms sinks need a fix because the water doesn’t drain well. Might also need to install AC in the future too due to the increase of temperatures. More people can enjoy this cabin if these issues are fixed.
We contacted the management co and they never resolved any issues. The bathroom sink didn’t drain. The fridge smelled so bad of fish it ruined our food. The bedding was not washed. The windows are in bad repair and you can hardly see out of some of them. The yard was just in poor shape and had great potential to be amazingly beautiful. The views are stunning and this could be a great place. It’s way over priced at the condition it’s presently in.
The view was spectacular..as the tide was coming in last night we spotted about 30 seals feeding. We challenged ourselves and made the trek down to the water...its a tough climb back up... Wish the beds were more comfortable...we all felt they were way to hard. We grilled out, also used the nicely stocked kitchen. Our favorite was sitting in the living and watching the Eagles soar right outside the window... We loved Hama Hama... Hoodsport was a great destination.
This home is amazing. Beautifully decorated, comfortable kitchen, luxurious bathrooms, amazing view! The front door lockbox wasn't working when we arrived but I called the number included with the entry instructions and a very gracious Vacasa employee quickly got us in using side door key box. They offered to send someone right out to fix it but we opted for using the side door during our stay. The main bedroom has upgraded to a king size bed, which is lovely, but it was a little too hard for my old bones. A foam topper would be a nice addition. The stairs to the beach are truly steep and not in great shape. We braved them anyway but there wasn't much beach to explore so unless you have a real reason to go down you might just enjoy the view from up top. I loved the decor and we had fun guessing at the age of the house by some of the original appliances. However, even though the color of the couches goes perfectly with the style (orange and turquoise) the one we used the most in front of the window was far from comfortable. Luckily there are several baskets of blankets and pillows around so we were able to doctor it up. Granted, we were there to delve into our music and tend to perch on the edge of a couch to play guitar. Sitting back wasn't as bad. Others have commented on the highway noise but we were amazed how little we heard being so close to it. Perhaps it would be worse during the summer with windows open and heavier traffic. I never did figure out the shower! It's BIG! I did get the most important shower head working and hot but there is a plethora of heads and the only knob that was likely to control them did nothing and fell off in my hand. Also, beware, when we used the shower at the same time as filling the bath we ran out of hot water. Timing is everything! All in all, a great place and highly recommended!
This place was exactly what we were looking for; a place to unwind and recharge the batteries. We knew there was no internet and TV service and that was fine; the cell phones still worked and we brought books and DVDs. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of appliances, cooking utensils and dinnerware. Bedrooms and bathrooms are what you expect from them, very comfortable beds. However, the best thing about the property is the view. I could have sat in front of the window all day. We did twice when it was raining hard outside all day. Lots of seals (over 50) hang out in the bay during high tide, herons and bald eagles during low tide. We brought binoculars but there were two pairs in the living room. We took paddleboards and left them at the bottom of the 100+ stairs for the week - they were fine. Close proximity to Hamma Hamma Oysters which has great food and friendly staff. There is a gas station that is walkable which you can find things you may have forgotten. Great place if you want to get away from it all. Highly recommended.
This home had great finishes. The view was amazing. The sink in the bathroom did not have good water pressure.
Great views, comfortable home, having a vantage of at least 100ft elevation. Unfortunately that is also a challenge to go down to the beach. A flight of nearly 100 stairs, very steep, makes a descent and an ascent a daunting process (although our kids were up and down a couple of times a day). This house is good for someone who likes to be indoor, relaxing and disconnecting from the rest of the world. There is no wifi (we overlooked when booking this house and just realized this a few days before we left). We couldn't do couple of things online, and our friend's husband didn't join us because he needed to do a few things that required internet connections. And there were times the end of the days, our four kids were tired, getting cranky, and arguing (throwing pillows at each other). One of those times, (we think) wifi connection/cable tv and some screen time would not be a bad thing.
We loved the place. Beautiful location and fun home. Just be warned there's no wifi! Overall had a great stay and would go back again!
Comfortable and as advertised which is much more than I can say for the place we stayed at after this one. View is gorgeous, and very roomy space. Only things to consider if it’s important to you is residence doesn’t have wifi or air conditioning.
Really great property in a quiet and tranquil setting. Everything was clean and neat. Would stay again.
