Traverse CIty, Michigan
Taking a vacation doesn't get any better than this! Lily Pad Cove, located close to Lake Ann, will be your perfect landing spot for a getaway. Situated on two acres, this private, idyllic location has a multi-level spacious home that will sleep up to 10 guests with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
When you walk into this spectacular home you are greeted by beautiful artisan stone floors with furniture and art from around the world. There are high ceilings, a skylight and color everywhere. Facing east, all back bay windows and doors have views of the lake and pool. Off of the kitchen there is a den area with sofa bed, cable TV with ROKU, a gas fireplace, and a wall A/C unit. The main floor level has a large room with a piano, three bedrooms, and the fourth bedroom suite is on the upper level. The spacious garden level has additional sleeping space with a queen bed and a twin bed and remains cool in hot weather. Plenty of room to watch a ball game on a smart TV, play games, chill out with drinks and have some fun in this family room. This floor also has a dry sauna and leads out to the pool.
Outdoors is magical. Surrounded by 1,600 acres of state forest, Sanford Lake is a tranquil 50-acre "no-wake" lake. There is no public boat launch on this lake. A rowboat, canoe and a kayak are available for you to enjoy the peaceful waters. No fewer than 59 bird species have been identified from the property such as redwing blackbirds, who live in the cattails on the lake shore, several varieties of ducks, woodpeckers, flickers, and a pair of nesting loons close by. If you like fishing, be prepared to catch a wide variety of fish on this lake, including bass, pike, bluegill, and sunfish.
Although the shoreline here is soft, you can paddle over to the other side of the lake for sandy swimming. Don't feel like swimming in the lake Enjoy the wonderful, heated in-ground private swimming pool (closed for the winter on September 30). Outdoor seating and a fire pit complete the beautiful setting and set the stage for a perfect end to the evening.
In the fall, this is a perfect location for fall festivals, wine tasting tours and observing the magnificent colors of the trees.
Your well-mannered pet is welcome.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: overall we had a great time at the property... a few hiccups in the beginning but UpNorth was responsive and helped resolve issues asap... good weather so no heat issues with our fans running upstairs and lots of spacefor our family group of 9... perhaps another kayak or 2since the house does accommodate large groups and more than 3 chairs at the pool..? outside dining/coffee on the patio was sooo nice, looking at the lake and we even saw a small bear exploring the lake!! all rentals have pluses and minuses but overall we had a memorable time at Lily Pad Cove.
Great spot for a quick getaway! Went with a group of friends to Traverse City and we had a great time the house was about 20 mins from downtown. Loved the pool and sauna! Thank you for this great stay.
This property has NO A/C. The listing is deceiving. There is a single wall unit that isn’t really working. The house was hot all week to the point of several people not being able to sleep. Also, the space was only surface cleaned. Lots of dust and dead bugs. The pool was nice and cleaned as scheduled. The lake view is pretty but the lake itself is not good for swimming. 20 minutes to TC and the peninsulas. There’s a cute coffee shop and brewery in town. Despite the quiet charms of the location I cannot get over the deceitful listing. We would not stay here again.
The house with the pool was excellent. The benefits of pool or lake was appreciated by all. The no wake lake was great for kayaking and canoeing. Plenty of space for all 8 of us to enjoy each other and have some private space. Very quiet surrounding allowing for peaceful days. Close to Traverse City, Interlochen, hiking trails golf and sand dunes.
Beautiful home and space. The pool was great for the kids! Location was great to visit many surrounding areas!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall good experience. Very interesting decor, lots of books! Some beds were a little lumpy, others shared a room. I would say comfortable sleeps 7. Not toddler friendly! Gardens need a bit of TLC. Nice to be able to take my dog...1 person kayak, row boat and canoe were nice to have on hand. Cauught a few small fish. No sharp prep knives so definitely bring your own. Good location for adventuring. Would recommend with reservations..
The house was big (but cozy!) with fascinating decor. The pool was a hit with the kids and adults! Huge outdoor table for dining outside. The lake was perfect for kayaking and canoeing, and we spent many hours on the water enjoying it. Far enough away from things to feel secluded, but just a short drive to Traverse City and the dunes. We saw loons, ducks, birds of all types, and the property has wonderful natural plants to attract butterflies. We loved every minute of it!
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The beaches and dunes were easy driving distance. We ate outside every day using the large table on the back patio and have several really good photos of birds at the feeder...loved the old general store in Lake Ann where we purchased bird seed to replenish the cache. We enjoyed the heated pool...the pool maintenance men came on Saturday on our arrival and again mid week.We took the kayak and canoe out on the lake ... however there is no area to even step off the dock b/c of the mucky bottom. All the décor from the owner's time spent in Africa and other countries was unique and interesting (I am glad I am not the person doing the dusting!). We tried to keep little hands off although did not see any signs saying do not touch. We would rent again if the owners have not reclaimed their retirement home.
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have a family of 11 including several plus ones. Lily Pad Cove was perfect for us as it had plenty of room and beds. We also brought the family dog and again plenty of room. Me and my wife also loved the way it was decorated with artwork from Africa and other oddities you don't normally see in a property.
I thought we might tour the area, but the pool was so wonderful that we spent most of the time splashing around and doing laps. The interior is a delight with lots of books. This gem hidden in the woods, on a quite lake was just wanted I needed to destress.
