This welcoming modern cottage is located directly on Fontana Lake in the summer and Alarka Creek in the fall, winter, and spring. Pull your boat up to our dock in the summer or fish in the trout-stocked creek steps outside your door when the lake is down. Let the sounds of the flowing creek wash away all of your life's stress or hop in the hot tub for the same effect!

The house has a well-stocked kitchen with the tools and spices needed to help prepare a meal. The living room's gas fireplace provides the perfect backdrop for family game time, curling up with a book, or a romantic evening in. With a memory foam king bed in the upper suite, queen bunk beds downstairs, and two baths, this cottage perfectly accommodates a family or two couples traveling together. A Pack 'n Play and booster seat are provided. A washer and dryer are also available. You will find many of the little things are taken care of to help make your stay easy and comfortable.

Hiking, biking, rafting, and more are just minutes away. In about 10-20 minutes, you can drive to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, Tsali Recreation Area, Nantahala Outdoor Center, and Bryson City. Or stay in and enjoy a book, movie, or game with your family and friends. In addition to the smart TV and Roku, you'll have an extensive DVD collection to choose from. There is also an NES Classic Nintendo, with 30 retro Nintendo games, to help keep the kids, or the kid in you, entertained.

Fontana Lake is typically up from Memorial Day to Labor Day. During this time, boating, kayaking, and swimming directly from our cottage is possible. After Labor Day, the lake level is lowered and Alarka Creek is just outside the door. The creek level varies, but it generally isn't deep enough to support boating or kayaking. While we cannot control the water level, we are happy to answer any questions you have about it before your stay.

Bryson City is approximately 10-15 minutes down the road. There you will find a grocery store, dining options, local breweries, and shopping.

Cherokee is approximately 25 minutes away, just a few exits down highway 74. Here, Harrah's Cherokee Casino, museums and cultural experiences, hiking, biking, and more await your discovery!

This is an amazing stay. The cabin was well stocked and Matt our host was efficient and on top of everything. It made staying in the woods so much more comfortable. I would definitely return with my family on my next trip to the smokies. Also they provided kayaks, binoculars for the bird and nature enthusiasts and had every appliance possible for the kitchen you can think of. The details into a cabin preparedness were very much appreciated.

Host was good and the location was secluded. Amenities were very nice and cabin just as described.

Everything was fantastic. The home was clean, had all the necessities we could need. It's quiet and super close to town and pet friendly! We enjoyed the fire pit at night and went into town during the day or just enjoyed the sound of the stream. Very relaxing and the host is excellent!

First I’d like to thank the host for all of his quick responses to questions before the stay. The cabin and location are near perfect. The lake being drawn down made the creek accessible a tad bit difficult to navigate by foot due to build up of silt in areas, but still great waters, I missed a decent size brown I. The hole just before our cabin. The creek and hot tub were easily our favorite parts of the stay. Hot tub in the morning and evening is definitely the go to this time of year. The home was clean and neat, and very easy to access and park. The home is in a near perfect location being 10 miles or so from Bryson city and 30 minutes to Sylva which we recommend, as well as Franklin! 10/10 grand slam stay, the wife and I 100% recommend this home for a smoky mountain vacation! Oh and I’d like to add that the Smokey Mountain Railway passes just over the home in the mornings and evenings and adds a cherry on top for atmosphere as the train horn blows in the distance. Seriously, stay here!

Property was as described in listing. Lake level was down so no water access due to level and creek debris. Not owners responsibility and just a cautionary item for late summer rental/stays. Internet was a bit unstable for some of our stay so no ability to communicate with outside world as there is NO cellular service. Easy access to town and groceries, restaurants etc in Bryson. Approximately 8 miles from residence. Again, everything was good and would definitely stay again.

We had a blast at this home. We miss the birds chirping in the trees already. Great location and we love Bryson City. Everything was as advertised. We are looking forward to coming back to this property again.

We loved the home with its location to the creek. We were in the water fishing the entire trip. Easy access in and out, especially to Bryson City. Quiet and scenic. We were able to launch at Alarka Marina even though the creek was a bit low, which was so convenient. Our son even had a visit from the Easter Bunny. We can't wait to stay again during the summer to take advantage of the high water.

It’s perfect! The house was so clean and adorable and decorated for Christmas. The river is gorgeous. It feels isolated but isn’t far from town. Can’t say enough good things! We plan to visit again for sure!
