Very cool, waterfront Camp Tahuna calls from its oceanside location! This easily accessible, single-story home has been remodeled in a saltwater sportsman’s theme and lies center stage along the Hatteras village waterfront. In fact, should you want to bring a boat, a deep water boat slip is available for an additional charge. The property has a picnic table to enjoy your daily catches and a large, covered entrance porch offers unforgettable sunsets. The entry has a convenient washer dryer corner. The combination living, kitchen, and dining areas are perfect for intimate dining or entertaining. The kitchen has Corian and butcher block counters and the necessary appliances. Rich hardwood floors and pine walls are decorated with fishing trophies. A one-of-a-kind, half-size stern of a sportfishing boat has been made into the best bar on the island. Comfortable leather furniture complete the living area with a large flatscreen TV.
The first and second bedrooms both have twin-over-double bunk beds. A full hall bath with a shower/tub combo is conveniently close to both bedrooms. The third bedroom has a twin-over-double bunk and a full bath with a soaking shower/tub combo. The beach access is just a short drive away. Bring bikes and a golf cart, because Hatteras Village is golf cart and pedestrian-friendly. (Visit AS Austin for your beach gear, kayak, and golf cart rentals, and mention Camp Tahuna to receive a small discount!) Fresh fish and shrimp are available in season almost next door. Top of the line restaurants and shopping are just around the corner. The slip is just doors down from Oden's Dock which leads out to Hatteras Inlet. You can't beat this Hatteras Village location!

This property should only be rented to people that want to wake up 4am in the morning and be gone for majority of the day. The yard is not maintained, it was not dog friendly, there was cats everywhere they got in the trash and move trash all over the yard. there was people back and forth throughthe yard. Very noisy starting at 4:00 a.m.
This house seems to be in the process of selling as-is so nothing is being repaired. Perfectly fine as a place to crash, but NOT A VACATION HOME. There is mold in the bathroom with the ceiling in disrepair, the stove is not usable - burners either don’t work or are so crooked and broken, a pan cannot lay on them, many outlets do not work, there are cockroaches, and the yard is not kept or usable. A portion of the property is covered in fishing nets and a trailer and multiple vehicles that come and go starting at 4am - not the greatest for trying to sleep and relax on vacation. The underside of the house has a colony of feral cats that go through the trash (the outside trash can does not have a lid so it’s a trash mess by the entrance of the house). Add to the broken and missing light bulbs, making what could be a nice place, dark and dingy. The beds are fine, but clearly not new and very uncomfortable. Rent this house if you want to go out on a boat all day and want to be on Hatteras. There is a new refrigerator that has nice ice and water so catches can be stored. Internet seemed good and plenty of people can fit. Don’t rent this house if you are a family looking for a beach vacation. Wish we would have chosen to stay further north with more options.
Very noisy after 4am and too many cat making it not dog friendly.
Great location
Great marina house! Loved the local vibe to it. Loved it all together! I’ve been coming here for 30yrs, this house gave me my all time BEST sunset views, from the porch, ever seen!!!! Great house! I can’t lie though, waking up with a boat in the living room def gave it a comical twist of “did I drink last night? Where am I?” …. We all had that hilarious moment! GREAT HOUSE! The boat was the bar/island in the house! Loved it! ❤️❤️❤️. As always house service was fabulous!
Mildewed interior, no Wi-Fi, people coming up or into the rental thinking it’s a dive shop. Roof leaks. Lots of people and vehicle traffic around.
Brought our baseball team out to fish and unwind. Stayed here and one other home. House AC blew Cold and all enjoyed their stay.
Enjoyed being so close to the Marlin Club and you kind of get the feel of being in a cabin at summer camp- however it is quite loud during the early morning hours as the fish processing center cranks up. There are not a lot of amenities pretty basic. Just beware also that the fenced in area for pets has tons of sand spurs. If you bring dogs there is that hazard and lots of stray cats. A pro is that you can pretty much walk everywhere. Overall it was Ok, my crew that was fishing loved it and will probably rent it again.
The cabin is as advertised. However, it’s not great for families or romantic getaway. It is a fishing cabin with only bunk beds and manly fishing/hunting decor. Cooking pots and pans are scratched. The location is great and the front deck is nice but no real yard, no outside shower.
Multiple things not in working condition. Roach problem, very unkept exterior. Pool was available but it was a 30 min drive away.
My family enjoyed our stay at Camp Tahuna. This house worked well for our needs since we needed a space that helped members of our family with disabilities get around. The bar was a fun spot. The rooms were clean and ready for our stay. You can walk along the docks up to the nearby restaurant. There is a beach about 8m away (near the ferry station). We enjoyed catching the sunsets on the porch and we even used the grill to cookout. The owner of the house took us on a fun boat ride. There is a corner market that you can walk to and grab supplies as needed. Overall, we had space to relax, eat, hangout, and enjoy ourselves. FYI: We had an issue with the oven (none of the display lights worked). Maintenance came by to look at the oven. The oven works — just no indicator lights. There is not an outside shower. Trying to wash off sand after the beach was challenging. The dryer took several runs to dry clothes. A few of the outlets in the kitchen weren’t functioning and the WiFi was spotty. Also on the weekend, there were others parked in front of the house for charter boat/fishing. Not a big deal but unexpected. The sign for the entrance to the house needs to be redone. It’s hard to read. The shared bathroom could use a curtain or privacy glass. The dining and coffee tables are a bit wobbly.
