Welcome to our "Columbia Gorge River House" private vacation rental home. Our family and friends enjoy this home year-round, but we do open it up to rentals in July and August in order for visitors to also enjoy this spectacular home and waterfront experience. We live nearby should any need or question arise during your stay. We also want you to know that: THE RAILROAD runs along the river throughout the Columbia River Gorge and is across the street from this and all waterfront homes, lodges, and cabins. There are frequent trains day and night. Most of our guests are not bothered by the noise and movements, but please be sure to let all members of your family/group know about the frequent trains prior to booking, just in case! We do provide earplugs and white noise machines in all bedrooms. Read our all 5* reviews here and on our website for honest and positive guest feedback. We also offer a 10% weekly discount! Please send us an inquiry if you have any questions prior to requesting to book our home.

We really enjoyed our stay . The house is located right on the water, with an amazing view . All amenities were excellent . Walking distance to shops aamd restaurants.
We had a lovely week in Stevenson as a family of 4. The location of this property is right on the water, with a stunning view of the gorge. We loved sitting outside the deck in the mornings and early evenings, and ate dinner outside one night. I wish we had done this more actually, the picnic table was perfect for summer dining al fresco! The hosts were extremely thoughtful and the house was well appointed with everything we'd need, especially in the kitchen. Loved the grill as well. The host was responsive and communicative, making sure we had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only downsides I can think of are 1) the bedrooms are a bit small and 2) the house is right by the train tracks. I found it hard to sleep the first night, but then I got used to it, and the hosts were also thoughtful enough to provide earplugs and to mention this very clearly in the review, so it wasn't a surprise. Overall, I have nothing but wonderful memories from our week in Stevenson, and would recommend this property to others,
Amazing!!! Beautiful views, perfect location, close to everything, comfortable updated home, great communication with owner!!! Kristi, Thank you for a great experience on the Columbia Gorge.
The property is amazing with beautiful views. It was very clean and well maintained. Only negative was the proximity to the busy train tracks - which I guess is all along the gorge. Owners were very responsive. Thanks!
Thank you Kristi for sharing your beautiful home with us ! This was a fun family reunion and your home accommodated all of us in such a magnificent setting. We had views of the Gorge, windsurfers, and the Bridge of Gods all from the porch ! Enjoyed playing games, eating outside, fishing from the shoreline and searching for special rocks and colored glass with our grandson. We were just a brief walk from the many delicious eating places in Stevenson. Couldn't have asked for a better setting for our vacation !!!!
From initial communication, to pre-stay details and planning, to the experience itself - this was fantastic! The property was clean and well maintained. Location in the small town of Stevenson, WA on the river and with close access to all sorts of outdoor activities was phenomenal. Whitewater rafting, hiking to waterfalls, kayaking, segway tour, kite surfing viewing ... lots to do in the area and we were happy to call this place home while we explored. Recommended!
Our family group included my husband and me, our daughter and son-in-law and their two little girls, ages 1 and 3, and for two of the days, our grown son and his girlfriend. We were drawn to the property for its location close to hiking and lots of brew pubs, but what we discovered was the magnificence of the Columbia River. None of us were quite prepared for the fascinating and spectacular scenery, history, and goings-on in this area. The trains captivated our granddaughters (and, okay, I admit it, the rest of us, too, once we got used to them, which really did not take very long!) and the barge and boat commerce on the river was ever so interesting. The little beach at the house made for fun splashing for the little girls, and hunting for sea/river glass became a daily activity. Although we did get some great hiking time in, we also found the Bonneville Dam and Fish Ladders so worth a visit. Hood River found us at the Playground and at many of the breweries, and the trip up RT 14 to that neat little town was always enjoyable. I did not know this when we booked the house, but the Maryhill Museum is only about an hour away, and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see the Theatre de la Mode exhibit! We also found little Stevenson to be a fun town, with some lovely shops and a grocery store with some of the friendliest employees ever! We were very appreciative to Kristi who provided our daughter with the name of a wonderful babysitter, whose services enabled the adults to have some evenings out! All in all, we were so comfortable in the house, and we were all so happy for the chance to experience the Columbia River Gorge in ways we never could have imagined.
My family (2 adults and 3 teens) stayed here for 12 days with ample space for all. The home has views of the Columbia River and Bridge of the Gods that will knock your socks off. If you are a kite surfer or wind surfer this is a wonderful place to be. If not, the hiking trails will keep you busy. The location is in the center of hundreds of hikes (with waterfalls) in Oregon and Washington. There are mineral baths nearby to relax your muscles after a long day of hiking. Everything is at your fingertips here. The town has great restaurants and breweries and cafe's just a block or two away. The grocery store just a few blocks away had everything we needed as well. The home is modern, clean, very well stocked, and wonderfully maintained. Many backyard spaces to watch the activity on the river, dine outdoors, or just practice some yoga. Around the house are well placed lavender bushes, rosemary bushes and other beautiful plants, one feels compelled to be outdoors and is rewarded with the fragrances of the plants and trees around the home. While we were there, my son even befriended a family of ducks that he fed in the evenings after he collected many beautiful pieces of sea glass on the beach that is on the property. The owners are helpful, attentive, but not intrusive. It was very easy to book this home and the security deposit was refunded quickly after our stay. This is a storybook place. We will return and recommend this home to others.
We are so thankful you shared your beautiful home with our family! We thought we had an idea how nice the accommodations and views would be from the online pictures, but we were blown away seeing it in person. The house had everything we needed and the views are breathtaking. The furnishings are stylish and comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked. There is plenty of outdoor seating in both sun and shade to capitalize on the spectacular setting and for watching all the sailing activities on the river. Stevenson is centrally located in the Gorge and close to all the popular sites, hiking, waterfalls, and wineries we visited each day. We also enjoyed walking to and eating at many of the local restaurants and breweries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return!
The moment you step into the house, the view draws you to the window! The Columbia River Gorge in all its glory beckons you from a wall of windows. You pull up a chair and think you have entered paradise. A Craftsman style, the house offers so much. Four bedroom, two bathrooms, and every amenity that a guest could need. I was pleasantly surprised. They even provided purified water in the fridge. With two bedrooms upstairs, one on the main floor and another in the furnished basement, the house allows for privacy even for a larger party. Two decks and a lovely yard full of wildflowers draw you out onto the patio and chairs. As disclosed, the train tracks are nearby, and they travel by often. Still, I found it enjoyable, and we slept closest to the tracks. Get ready for a little rockin and rollin. The home provides earplugs, but if a guest sleeps light, they may want to reconsider their home choice. We met for a sibling reunion, so we spent days on the bikes on the Old Columbia Historic Highway and the Twin Tunnel trails. I wish I could go back and forget the bikes, and just sit on the deck for one more hour. Absolutely beautiful! Kristi was the best owner I've worked with on VRBO. Prompt, polite, and professional.
