Waterfront beach house

Pros: House is at an amazing spot just as described. The canal is right by you. The bay is across the street. The beach is a 2 min walk. So pretty much you have 3 bodies of water by the house.The wrap around porches are amazing. They have great sitting areas that you could enjoy every time of the day and choose sun/no sun.There are a lot of beds so the house could sleep a lot guests.ConsThe house needs repairs and maintenance.Floors (Laminate flooring) are separating from movement of house and there are serious gaps in between the planks. There are past leaks and water stains and paint peeling pretty much on all the ceilingsThe digital control of the oven does not always work. Only sometimes.The ice maker does not work (we were told not part of amenities offered)Pretty much all of the closets but one full of cleaning supplies are locked for owners use. So 0 closet space.No hooks anywhere. There is literally no place to hang and dry your hooks.I was given a King size pillow with Queen size cover. No attention to details.Again, a great house, great location, great bones but owners have some repairs to do.

Great stay! Wonderful vacay!

Absolutely loved the location and Meredith was extremely responsive throughout our stay. The property was very clean (with the exception of the cooking utensils) and generally comfortable. For our planning before we arrived on the island, it would have been helpful to know more clearly what was provided for necessities (starter supplies only, no toiletries) and that there were no beach chairs or a cooler to borrow. That said, we really enjoyed the porches and walking the beach!

This home was as described. Plenty of room for our family. We fished, walked the beach, checked out several sights on the island: Fort Gaines, the Audubon Bird Sanctuary, the Aquarium/ estuarium. The food was wonderful, shout out to Foxys Waffle Bar ( best breakfast), and Pirates Bar and Grill . We were all able to enjoy some much needed family time away from home. The views from the house were amazing. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets! Til the next time…

Everything about our stay was wonderful. Meredith was a responsive host who rescued our already scheduled Dauphin Island trip when our first host was unable to host us at the last minute. The house is in a perfect location to get to either the Gulf beach or sound beach. And it was the perfect size for all three generations of our family!

Great escape from tropical storm Debby

Checked in on a Monday, the host got with us the next day informing us that she had someone coming to fix the broken ice machine on the fridge, she stayed in contact with us and answered any questions we had. Unfortunately one of us got stung by a sting ray while there, she even reached out checking on us! Would highly recommend this beach house within a few minutes walk to the main beach, or go out the back door and swim in the canal. You could even go across the road and be at a more private beach with not near as many people. Great place to stay! Very clean, and absolutely no issues what so ever!!

Great toline

We had a GREAT time. The kids loved the crab traps at the house. We caught many crabs, catfish, jelly fish and even a sting ray. The house was very clean and comfortable and the beach access was just perfect. The house fit my husband and I, my in laws and both our kids very comfortable. Communication was very very quick. We would definitely stay here again!
