We rented for a little fly fishing run on the Yampa - great spot. Hope to rent again - easy walk to downtown.

Sanitation & Cleanliness Issues. Trash was left near the entrance to the back door.A strong, unpleasant odor was present upon entering the home.Kitchen chairs were stained and filthy, and did not match the listing photos. The living room carpet was visibly dirty and heavily stained. The outdoor patio was unclean and unusable: overgrown with weeds, debris, and obstructed by tree branches.Patio cushions were dirty and unsuitable for use.The BBQ grill was so filthy inside and out that it was entirely unusable for food preparation. The microwave oven was also visibly dirty.A patio fountain was inoperable and half filled with stagnant water and algae.Maintenance Failures. Both side entry doors had inoperable locks; door handles could be completely removed, making the property insecure.A second-floor bedroom had a non-functional ceiling fan, which was essential due to the lack of air conditioning. The Roman blind in that bedroom was broken and hanging at an angle; it could not be raised or lowered, resulting in sunrise light entering the room before 6:00 a.m.The only available box fan was so loud it made sleep impossible. The second bedroom’s closet door was sealed shut with duct tape, providing no space to store clothes. The third-floor room was uninhabitable due to extreme heat and lack of airflow, and no fans were provided. The refrigerator’s side panel was visibly held together with duct tape.

The location of this house is close to downtown and very convenient. However, there were many challenges with the house. The furniture did not match photo expectations. The kitchen table and chairs are different than the pictures, with the chairs showing significant grime and wear. Upon arrival, the dishwasher was not working. After filing a service complaint, the dishwasher was fixed 2 days later. The gas stovetop is dangerous. The knobs are broken and/or do not turn in the correct indicator positions. This made cooking stressful. The refrigerator door does not seal properly and there is tape holding the gasket on the door. The ceiling fan in the MBR does not work, and there are not enough fans for each room (which is needed since there is no AC). The remote control for the DVD player was missing batteries (making the DVD player unusable) which was not discovered until movie night was starting, which was disappointing. The family room recliners were nice. Renters are only allotted 2 parking spots, so there was occasionally an unknown car parked next to the front door using the other available spot. The front door lock was unusable for a day because the lock battery went dead. Cleanliness: While the indoor cleanliness was acceptable, the outdoor areas were filthy and unusable. The outdoor front entry area was covered in leaves and debris and had not been swept or prepared for our stay. The outdoor back patio off the kitchen was completely unuseable and an eyesore. It was covered in leaves, debris, and tall weeds. There was a running hose into a non-working water feature that you had to step over to get the grill. But the grill was beyond filthy with caked on food remnants and had obviously not been cleaned in a significant amount of time based on the char remnants. There were old dirty towels laying on the chair cushions, which were also filthy. The patio table was unuseable because the umbrella was broken and drooping over the table and chairs. The second floor porch over the entrance was covered in dirt and pollen. The kitchen plates, silver wear, and glasses were filthy/greasy when first pulled out to be used and all had to be hand washed before they could be used. Overall, this house did not meet expectations for the premium price point.

My late father grew up across the street and my grandparents lived there beginning in 1922. Our Villa was very large with plenty of bedrooms and bath rooms and lots of living area down stairs. It was nicely decorated, had 3 balconies and a nice patio. We were able to visit with many relatives there in comfort similar to home.
