Stayed Apr 5, 2024I rented this beautiful house with old high school friends for the eclipse. It was clean, modern, spacious and accommodating. The hosts were very welcoming, even bringing us a set of eclipse glasses, and responded quickly when we could not figure out the hot tub settings, or how to re-set a breaker for the power in one room. The only reason I have given this a less-than-perfect rating is the STRANGE idea of a rental like this not automatically including basic essentials such as bedsheets, towels, bathmats, washrags, soap and toilet paper for the bathrooms, kitchen towels and trash bags. I was able to convince the hosts beforehand to at least supply bed sheets. Because the fine print what to bring listed everything NOT included, I ended up going to Costco in Austin before driving out and spent a LOT on new bath and pool towels, toilet paper, kitchen towels, washrags, bathmats, hand, dish and laundry soap, even trash bags. There was some toilet paper and hand soap when we arrived, but not nearly enough for a house this size that is designed to sleep 32. It is not normal for a house rental to expect guests to supply all these items- who wants to travel with what really are basic essentials? Finally, and this may be a reflection of the fact the house is new, there is exactly ONE hook in each bathroom- no towel bars anywhere, even in the rooms with 4 queen beds. Please consider my comments to make this otherwise gorgeous rental perfect. Thank you!
