West Harwich, Massachusetts
Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, this authentically restored antique farmhouse and 1/2 acre farm puts out a whole crop of Saturdays! It is a joy and it's everything you'd hope for - restful, refreshing, comfortable, and welcoming. Enjoy lush gardens and lots of privacy. There is a wonderful wooden swing and a double-wide cotton hammock for relaxing. "Saturday Farm" is a beautiful home and is personally looked after.
Sea View Park is just 1/3 mile away. It includes Sea View Beach, walking trails, a children's play area and gardens. It is just 1/2 mile to 2 other beaches - Belmont and Sea Street Beach and just a little further to many more beaches. The Harwich Conservation Land is just over 1/2 mile away; here there are hundreds of acres of bike trails, lakes, rivers and ponds and cranberry bogs.
Our lovable sheep are right next door and love to graze; they are our quiet lawnmowers. They are very child friendly. We're happy to share them with your family or if you'd be more comfortable if we did not let them graze while you are there, we are okay with that too.
We will prepare the house beautifully for your arrival and provide the key to your own private Cape Cod week of Saturdays. You will not be working with a management company - only the owners (Cindy and Harry). Your enjoyment and comfort is what we are working toward.
Light, roomy and relaxing, the living room, sun room and den provide several seating areas and an extensive library of books, movies, and board games. You can enjoy sunning or reading outside on one of the many Adirondack chairs where there are fragrant flowers in the front yard and backyard gardens. Outdoor games are available and a picnic table is in place for a great family picnic.
This house continues to be an inspiration for artists and photographers... perfect for family gatherings.
Here is what other guests have said:
'Everywhere I have spent time in this extraordinary home I have made discoveries. Warm, comfortable, beautiful, soulful, artistic are words that come to mind. The Baa Boy bells, softest sheets, inspiration everywhere. Oh my, what a wonderful week of Saturdays. No doubt the vibrations will continue to resonate long after this week. Thank you both for creating your lives and sharing.' Lee-Ann from Virginia, July
'Saturday Farm was everything we anticipated and more. The house was a joy to be in with all the wonderful art, books, and lovingly furnished rooms. Our meals around the dining room table are now fond memories that we will carry forever - especially 'Lobster Night'.
Thank you for a perfect Cape Cod experience.' Molly, California. May
'We have had such a wonderful time here. We love all the small attention to detail both in all of the rooms as well as the gardens. The outdoor spaces are articulated so nicely - we really appreciated and used all of them. Usually as a family, when we have an occasion to celebrate we come to the Cape. This has been the BEST house we have ever had here. It helped so much to make our mom's 85th birthday a big success. A joyful time! The fire pit was great addition. The kitchen worked great for this many people and when we could eat outside we all fit nicely at the picnic tables. You are very thoughtful in everything and it did not go unnoticed on us. Oh, yes the sun room was a very comfortable gathering place. The outdoor shower was a real hit, especially the birds nest in the rose vine. This was great proximity to many things - bike trails, beaches, morning runs and walks, go-carts miniature golf, etc. It certainly was a home away from home!' Texas
'Dear Cindy and Harry,
'I enjoyed the beautiful house and the front and backyard. I loved the fact that you have a beach close to the house. I really loved the bedrooms and everything in the house.' Luciana, 12 years old
'Thank you for letting us vacation in your wonderful home. Every day was beach weather and we took full advantage. The house rang with laughter and chatter and then, after awhile, napping and sleeping. We had a full international house and they all loved it here.' (August) Zoe, Germany
'Wow! What a spectacular place you have. It makes you remember the good old days when everything was so simple and ever so easy. Thank you for sharing it with us. There were so many moments spent here that will be remembered forever.' Kerry, South Africa
Saturday Farms was a great experience. I would certainly say more applicable for families with small children (for the wonderful bah boys) vs. for young adults. It’s in the middle of a neighborhood so there’s a mandatory quiet time, which is understandable, but may not be what young adults are seeking in a vacation. Overall, a wonderful experience
The home is listed as a quaint antique farmhouse but for our family we found it old and rundown. The owners are nice and very accommodating but overall the furniture, beds, etc are not comfortable. There are chairs everywhere, literally every inch of the house is jammed with all different kinds of chairs. The kitchen isn’t very functional and despite not cooking or having any food in the house there were ants everywhere. From the beach chairs, to the hammock, to the rest of the amenities, they all felt like they were going to break if used. Unfortunately it was hot and humid when we visited so the lack of air conditioning made the stay less than ideal. We ended up leaving early and spending time in Boston. I’d love to recommend this place but for us it was the wrong fit. For the amount we paid I expected more.
We enjoyed our stay at Saturday farm very much. The garden surrounding the farm is so beautiful and peaceful. The two sheep “Bromley” and “Snoopy” grazing around the farm were one of the many highlights of our stay. It was a pleasure getting to know the owners of the farm. We highly recommended this home away from home.
We had a great time during our week at this special house/property. Cindy and Harry were wonderful hosts, the Baa boys are entertaining and so enjoyable to watch, and the house is very comfortable and a short way from beach, restaurants, shops. We all loved it!
This fascinating, serene, and surprisingly big Cape Cod rental was perfect for our summer visit with both family and friends. The historic house and beautiful gardens are lovingly maintained by owners Cindy & Harry. They were quick to answer any questions we had. The location is very close to many restaurants and attractions, but when relaxing in the backyard you feel as if you’re hidden from the bustling world. We loved the sunroom and the abundance of books. Our children (ages 11-19) enjoyed spending time with the Baa Boys and exploring the neighborhood (beach, ice cream, several restaurants, and more all working walking distance). Having towels & linens provided is a much appreciated amenity. We hope to visit again soon!
The house at Saturday Farm is welcoming and beautiful, and the sheep add an element of fun for children. The best part of being there was getting to know Cindy and Hank and hearing the story of their restoration of the Farm. It is truly a labor of love. The only downside is that it is on a somewhat busy street, about 3/4 mile from the beach, not walkable with small children. But many beaches and ponds are accessible by car, and there is a good market nearby. Highly recommend!!!
we stayed in a number of places on cape cod, and this was by far the best. super responsive owner is helpful and the property itself is an absolute delight. this is where you want to stay.
The Baa Boys (the sheep) were a wonderful addition for our grandchildren. There are multiple nooks and crannies to have private reading or nap time. Also many places to have our family gather and eat and talk. The kitchen worked for us to cook a Thanksgiving dinner for 7. The oven, initially built in 1920 or so, was surprisingly effective in maintaining consistent temperaturs. We especially liked that the television was small and not central, thus allowing us time to delink! The beach is a short walk away from the house. The house is historical and quaint. The bathroom/tub/shower set-up does take a little getting used to! Our hosts were very available and very user friendly. A great Thanksgiving escape for our family!
I stayed at Saturday Farm with my whole family for my mother’s 60th birthday and had an amazing time! The house is spectacular both in cleanliness and it’s decor. My mother is a fan of antiquities and primative design and absolutely loved the place. We stayed for four nights and had a blast both at the beach (which is about a 15 minute walk) as well as hanging out in the yard with the baa boys. The backyard was stunning and very well manicured. Cindy and Harry were great hosts and we can’t wait to go back again!
We enjoyed our family vacation in the peace and beauty of Cindy and Harry's Saturday Farm.... they've done a beautiful job of keeping the original charm of the place, and making it beautiful and comfortable....everything we needed was provided (maybe one more window fan for upstairs would be helpful), and they were very prompt in handling a need that arose. We all loved the sheep, the outdoor shower, the hammock, and the variety of rooms to hang out in, allowing the choice of private time or gathering together. Thanks so much for making this wonderful place available.
