Just outside of the town of Highlands but only a 10 minute drive to downtown, with views all the way to Tennessee. At almost 4,200 ft, summer temperatures are as much as 20 degrees cooler than lower elevations.
All roads are paved and there are no steep inclines. Your backyard is the Nantahala National Forest.
The beautiful valley that stretches between this home and the Blue Ridge Mountains of Tennessee funnels breezes and birdsongs right up to the house.
Lots of outdoor lounging and dining on your spacious deck that blends into the natural surroundings. With soaring 20ft ceilings and floor to ceiling windows, the views from inside are just as spectacular.
Open the windows (or use central heat or air), light a fire and relax.
This home has a large indoor wood burning fireplace. This super quiet home is the last house at the end of the street atop Flat Mountain.
Disconnect from the world when you want to in this peaceful haven and when you need to connect, do so via high speed fiberoptic internet, digital cable TV, Direct TV (wired and ready for your box from home) and a strong cellular signal thanks to a commercial grade cell signal booster. Living room has a 65 inch smart tv and blue ray player. All bedrooms have 40 inch smart TVs. All are connected to internet and have free access to Netflix included, digital cable and Direct TV Satellite dish (bring your DTV boxes).
Master bedroom has sliders to mountain view and deck with blackout drapes, King size sleigh bed, his and hers closets and ensuite bathroom with shower.
2nd bedroom has sliders to mountain view and deck with blackout drapes, King size platform bed, his and hers closets and easy access to bathroom with tub/shower which is shared with 3rd bedroom.
3rd bedroom has Queen platform bed, spacious closet and lots of windows with blinds.
The house is open concept, only divided by the huge stone fireplace between the kitchen and living room.
The kitchen has nearly 20ft ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. It also has high top table for 4 and 3 barstools at the island. Plenty of cabinet space in the kitchen and the huge pantry just behind the kitchen.
The dining room which is open to the living room and the big view out back seats 8.
Games, playing cards and puzzles abound ready to create cherished memories with family and friends.
Outside amenities include a large circular drive with covered parking for two large vehicles. The back yard is reasonably flat before eventually dropping off. Trees close to the house are expertly trimmed to provide a canopy that keeps you cool and part of the forest with lower limbs removed to provide the amazing views.
A new whole house generator was added in 2021.
There is a 30 amp RV plug in the car port with an available electric vehicle 50 amp adapter. Bring your 50 amp car adapter to charge your electric vehicle.
Fires may ONLY be built in the fireplace.
Fires built in any other location not designated for fire, may constitute a violation of the Terms and Conditions which could result in an immediate termination of tenancy.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Our cancellation policy is outlined below:
For reservations that are 21 days or less, A reservation cancelled ( by email receipt ) between 0 - 45 days prior to arrival is not eligible for a refund. If reservation is cancelled more than 45 days prior to arrival, guest shall receive a refund of all payments made* less a cancellation fee of 10% of the total cost of the reservation AND the cost of any trip insurance if purchased.
*Refunds do not include third-party service fees as those are determined by the booking site and we do not control how those funds are processed.
For any reservations that are more than 21 days, No refund will be given unless the property is re-rented over the previously booked dates.

We loved this property and location. The home is nicely laid out with a master on one side and two other bedrooms on the opposite side. The views are spectacular. The kitchen is very well appointed, and we cooked almost every meal at the house. The neighborhood is quiet and very walkable. Highlands is only a short drive, as are countless hiking options. Would rent this property again.
Arrived at property to find owner of rental company blowing off the deck area. Nice last minute touch. Great communication throughout the reservation process. Home has AMAZING views. 10 minutes to town in a lovely neighborhood. Very cozy furnishings and comfy beds with extra blankets and throws provided. Bags of dog toys were left also which my pups really enjoyed. Well stocked kitchen. Would absolutely return!
Our family loved our stay here. The location is peaceful, located near town, hiking trails to a waterfall just down the road. Everything felt clean and well cared for.

This home is my first choice when visiting Highlands. From the breathtaking views to open family room and space for guests to have their own rooms. Also just a quick drive to town and great hiking so close! The fireplace was perfect for cold evenings. You won’t want to leave!
This home was everything we wanted. From the 20 ft fireplace to the breath taking view, we enjoyed every single moment. We made friends with the gang from The Blue Bike resturant and really enjoyed shopping in Highlands. It was a vacation of a lifetime. Definitely going to go back.
We loved the house! Great location between Highlands & Cashiers. And the view from the deck was wonderful! Would definitely stay there again. And we were able to take our dog! Saw two bears while driving to the house! Thank you for letting us stay there.
