This was a perfect stay for us. The house had everything we needed. The grill and the screened in back porch definitely rate 5 stars!. The house was clean and just as described, and was close to local restaurants, grocery stores, Dollar General, and Family Dollar. It was also close to the public beaches.
Couldn't have been more happy with this adorable home! Super clean, comfortable, interesting decor, everything you need and SO much more (fun books, games, dvds, beach gear, bikes.) Great location. We really enjoyed the quieter part of town for walking our dogs. A bit far to walk to the sandy beach for us, but we tend to drive anyhow since we are always lugging lots of gear. Easy walk to the waterfront though (about 4-5 blocks), just not the sandy beach (I'd guess 1.5 miles or so... an easy bike ride, which we did several times.) The beaches are beautiful, and easy to find a peaceful spot to yourselves. Waters are shallow, but boy did my dogs love that. Owner Bill was very communicative and helpful. Even though I live in Texas, I loved the town, the cottage, and the beach there so much that I'm planning my next beach getaway there as well!
This rental is more wonderful than anyone could expect. If you want to get away - really get away, go to the Bay and STAY HERE. You will definitely get more than you paid for. The beaches are great and pet friendly. All of the popular attractions are just a short drive away. The owners go beyond expectations to provide all that you need. (The first time I have ever rented a private property and did not have to run to the store to get toilet paper right away! Thank you Bill and Gigi! You could teach a class on, How to equip your rental property. Much thanks.
Stayed 3 nights in this beautiful home during Spring Break. The ammenities and furnsishings in this cottage make you feel right at home. Everything needed was provided and the house is centrally located to New Orleans and Biloxi both about an hour away. Take a lovely walk to the Bay which is right down the street about 3 blocks away or if you feel lucky the Hollywood Casino is only about 2 miles away. Bill was great to work with to set up the reservations on short notice and made us feel welcome. We will definately try to stay here again on our next trip to the area.
Bill, We really enjoyed our stay at your Victorian Cottage. We had a wonderfull week long visit with our daughter and her family. They have lived in Bay St. Louis for about 1 1/2 years. The cottage felt just like home and it was good to have some time to ourselves. We really liked the decorating and even went to old town to see more of your handy work. You are quite an artist when it comes to creating furniture out of the cypress wood.. We look forward to staying at your cottage in the future.
We truly love this home. Only wish we lived closer. Everything in this home perfect and very comfortable. Loved being able to walk down the street to the Bay to enjoy the view. The shrimp was the best. We went to Pass Christian marina to enjoy Shaggys and then went across the marina to the shrimp boats, to get the FRESH shrimp to bring home. Every minute was precious at this home and we cannot wait for our next visit.
What a wonderful long weekend we had! The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a weekend or an extended stay. The owners have done an excellent job of providing all the comforts of home as well as lots of items you need for a day at the beach. The furnishings & the screened porch are so nice (right down to the sweet-smelling vine growing up the deck). The cottage is just a short walk from the bay where a sea wall runs up North Beach Blvd. for a wonderful drive. We enjoyed riding to the end and talking to people fishing along the way & saw someone catch a stingray and a redfish. There were also quiet places with hardly any traffic to walk & ride bikes & we saw more wildlife than we do at home and we live in the country. I rode a bike for the first time in many years & had a great morning ride - it was provided by the owners as well! We thought we wanted to go to Biloxi for some activities but didn't want to leave the Bay side once we got there. When we go back we want to walk the Bay bridge. The Visitors Center at the old train depot has a neat little duck pond full of huge koi and when we visited it was the local high school prom night and there were kids everywhere taking pictures amidst the big live oaks in their prom attire. You have to watch those geese, though - they seemed a little to anxious for something to eat! We had a delicious meal at Trapani's on the bay in Old Town - the fried green tomatoes topped with crabmeat were great & also enjoyed Shaggy's & the view of the marina, pier & gulf. There is a donut shop on Hwy. 90 called Grammy's that also serves a full breakfast. Also want to try the Buttercup next time but just didn't have time to do it all in a long weekend! Hopefully we'll be able to make this trip a few times a year. Though it was just the two of us, we may ask friends along next time since four could stay very comfortably. Thanks for sharing your adorable cottage!
We spent an incredible month here. The cottage is beautifully finished and so clean and inviting. It was our haven of peace and tranquility after a day of biking or exploring The Bay or New Orleans. The beautiful white beaches are close and a great place to watch the sunrise or just relax and read. The owners are very kind and answered any questions we had. There is so much to see and do nearby and the Southern hospitality is second ot none.
My girlfriend and I go on vacation every year to escape our responsibilities, the stress of every day life and of course our husbands. This was our first experience with VRBO. It was a joy. To sit and read and relax doing nothing this home is perfect. From the beautiful bedrooms to the open airy living area, or the lovely screened in porch. It all whispers lay back take it easy. We wanted to drag it back to Missouri but knew you would miss it terribly. Thanks for everything see you soon.
We truly fell in love with this wonderful home. It was spotless and very comfortable. The decor and craftmanshp is so very special. The owners are so helpful and gracious. This a real place to relax and enjoy the charm of Bay St. Louis. It is so nice to see the Bay area rebuild and grow again.
The neighborhood is quiet. The home was comfortable and well appointed. A definite do-over! We can't wait for our next trip. The master bath has a walk in shower. We ate dinner on the screened-in porch. couldn't have asked for better hosts than Bill & GiGi.
What a wonderful and comfortable house. Everything was even better than the photos---clean and well kept property. We enjoyed having the bikes and riding around the neighborhood and along the bay. The beach was just a short drive away. We toured the town and had a wonderful lunch at one of the cafe, The Buttercup. I would recommend this property to anyone who wanted to enjoy some peace and quite but still close enough to drive to a casino.
