We stayed at this house for 2 days (Party of 6, including 2 grandparents & 2 young kids) and it was a comfortable stay for everyone. The house is extremely clean and very well equipped & stocked. It really feels like the owner actually lives there from time to time and just let others enjoy the house in between his / her own stays. We love the natural surrounding and the great view & light of the house. Highly recommended!
The location of this residence is wonderful, great departure point to experience multiple venues in all directions. The residence itself is nicely appointed, beautiful banks of windows letting outside in. Kitchen has all you need to enjoy preparing meals. The outdoor living space is comfortable leading to a path and a bench adjacent to the creek - extremely tranquil and picturesque. The property management company needs to do a better job cleaning as both bedroom quilts were soiled. You can imagine that takes away from the overall quality of your stay. The towels and sheets seemed ok. Please replace those nasty covers for future visitors to enjoy.
The home was very well located to enjoy Hood River and was immaculate. Would reccommend a few nights to relax and recharge.
We had a wonderful time in this house. It is in a beautiful location and we loved everything about it. The library and puzzles kept us entertained for hours.
My co-workers and I celebrated a retirement with a lovely little retreat at this property. It was perfect for 4 of us to just hang out, read books, play games, and eat food together. We were planning on doing some shopping in Hood River but we ended up just wanting to stay in and relax. Such a lovely space. It felt like a treehouse! It had everything we needed for a getaway together.
Cool place. Great location. Were here for our kids ski race at mt hood. We had a blast and appreciated how nice the place is, the great books and no TV (just a DVD player to watch movies)
We spent a recent weekend here. It was very relaxing with nice views and the sound of the creek behind the home. The home was clean and had everything we needed. When we ended up with a change of plans (ski day canceled), we were grateful for the books, games, and movies available to keep us entertained.
The property location is beautiful and the view is certainly something to appreciate. With that being said, I was overall, and unfortunately, disappointed with my stay and believe future renters should have a better idea what they're paying for. Most of the interior had a VERY used look to it. A look that was like there were kids running around for years in there and nobody there to maintain and fix the issues/repair the damage . Paint was missing on almost every cabinet door, there was a hair in one of the cups as well as a hair in one of the ice cubes in the trays in the hallway freezer, there were scratches and marks all over the walls in both bedrooms and on and around the front door, the mini fridge handle wobbled more than a little bit and the door didn't shut properly without forcefully slamming it due to hitting the cabinet doors (which I didn't realize until the next morning when the fridge had been slightly open all night), there was a large stain on one of the bed comforters, the kitchen sink faucet and handles wobbled coming out of the wall, the floor finish throughout a lot of the unit was faded and scratched, there were tear marks in the cheap, uncomfortable, non-padded carpet in the bed rooms, the sliding doors looked like they've been chewed on by dogs, one of the windows was dysfunctional, and there was a large gaping hole in the ceiling of the bathroom next to cobwebs and poorly covered up holes in the wall. I don't want to be petty; the property is very peaceful and I appreciate the interior design which is quite beautiful. The books and games and nearby creek are fantastic! The check-in and check-out was very easy, and the property maintenance folks were very friendly and helpful. I wanted to love my stay here, however, for the amount of money I paid for this rental, I expected much better quality.
Beautiful quiet place to stay during a Hood River/Parkdale adventure! We will definitely be back!
Just lovely and exactly as pictured.
The location is gorgeous and conveniently located.
Beautiful view of back of property from living room, house was super esthetivsllu pleasing. My kid was obsessed with the bird bingo, I enjoyed the National park puzzle (2 pieces missing Incase anyone cares). Unfortunately I couldn’t figure out for to make the speaker system work or the mini fridge in the kitchen (was room temp, power button and cool button not functioning), good thing there was an extra mini fridge in closet that was working! These issues weren’t a big enough deal for me to try and get them resolved during my stay, but it def would’ve added to the experience to have the speaker system work so we could enjoy some music or a movie!
Thank you for allowing us to stay with you! My wife and I with our three kids stayed two nights while skiing Mt Hood. Such a cute place and a great location. We loved the lifelong book collection that the owners were so willing to share with us. My want-to-read list is now a lot longer. Perfectly located between all the things we wanted to see. We are already talking about a summer trip to be back in the area. We will be picking our dates around this place being available. Thanks again!
Cool House about 15 mins from town. Neat property on a quiet street with a creek in the back that you can hear when the windows are open. Nice outdoor dining space as well.
We stayed here for a family wedding- such a great little find!! Love the ease of the layout and the efficiency of the place. The under cabin nook was awesome for morning yoga and coffee. Could use some shelves in the bedrooms but nothing else to say negative about this cool little place!!
If you love nature and want a quiet place to relax, consider this home. A creek runs behind the home, and the home itself is located a bit off the beaten path (about 15 minutes away from Parkdale or Hood River). You can sit under the home on a new deck, and watch deer eat clover in the back yard. You can pet a friendly neighborhood cat that likes to visit. Upstairs, the view is relaxing and the living room is inviting for a quiet evening relaxing.
Happy surprises: bucolic drive from Hood River, great patio setup under house, friendly tabby that dropped by, and very hot shower water Cons: we were not notified that one of the two minifridges wasn’t working, so we juggled to fit things we’d brought and then had all our eggs in one basket when the minifridge door hit the cabinetry and stayed ajar all night (no temperature alarm). Later on, some of the berries froze at the back of the fridge. The condition of the Teflon pans was really sad, but we left behind a sauté pan we bought in Hood River - maybe you can use it! Food residue on a bunch of the cookware and silverware. Knives good for cutting mushrooms, but consider bringing your own if you’ll do serious cooking. Surprisingly large range of kitchen supplies was provided. No shoes inside, so bring house/shower slippers. A shower/toiletry caddy would be great, there’s only a 4x5” shelf in the shower and hardly any space on the sink. If you bring your own sheet for the nooks (they had polyester), I think a XL twin would fit. Tips for parents: We chose this house because it has no interior stairs. Glad our pack and play fit in the bedroom. Still think this is a really great option if you have kids. Re: safety, when the sliding doors are opened, the railing is climbable. It would be easy to install a cabinet handle loop child-proofing for the under sink (wasp killer stored there), and possibly the pots cabinet too; chair feet and felt pads are a choking hazard if your kids would stoop to eating something like that. The door chain was out of reach of our toddler, so we didn’t have to worry about an escape. Handy man items: chair feet are breaking - felt pads don’t help prevent the chrome from scraping the floor and leave the black part sticky when they fall off; reattach item on back of shower wall for more shelf space; paint bare patch by toilet; shim minifridge by sink so that the door can’t scrape on the cabinet. We really liked this home, and the design and setting made it a very memorable and lovely experience. It's what I imagine glamping is like. Probably wouldn’t choose to stay in an Arrived-managed property next time.
