The house was perfect for a large family. There were 18 of us and we were all able to spread out and have our own privacy. The house is actually bigger than the pictures. We never felt cramped but were able to do so many activities simultaneously. The dock at the lake is also spacious and allowed us to fish, boat, swim and suntan all at the same time. I would highly recommend this property for large families. It is one of our best VRBO rental experiences ever.

My husband and I rented this out with our friends for a long wedding weekend. We got married on my family farm in Hartwell and needed a fun place to host out of town friends for the weekend. The place was great for our size group and we used every bed! Master suite was the perfect place for a bridal suite to get ready in.

In total, we were a group of 20. Overall, the facility was very accommodating and clean. The kitchen was very well equipped to cook for our large party. The rooms were very spacious, and all bed sheets were nice and clean. The only challenge we experienced was with the hot water. The water heater was broken. Erick who helps to maintain the property was extremely professional and worked to address the concern. Given the cold weather, this was a challenge for the group. While at the property, we rented a pontoon boat from the Hartwell Marina. We recommend guest to do this. Overall, we had a memorable time ringing in the new year.

The house could be amazing but needs a lot of work. The inside needs a new paint job. All the carpets needs to be professionally cleaned. They need a professional cleaning crew to come in after each renter in order to make the house ready for the next renters. We found dead bugs all over the place and a cockroach in one of the toilets. If you are going to say there is a dock to use then get the boat out of the slip so renters can use it. Especially since the boat hasn’t been used in over 2 years.

The house is absolutely beautiful! Very spacious and matches the pictures. The dock was really enjoyable and even included a large foam mat for chilling at the lake. Our only problems surrounded the wifi, which wasn't working well the whole time. We immediately messaged the host when the wifi wasn’t working. While the host was responsive and friendly, they didn’t really offer much help. It is mentioned that the wifi was spotty on the listing, but it ended up affecting our ability to play music and watch the football games we wanted to watch. Also there were only enough trash bags for the first use and there were not trash bags to replenish so we had to run out. Overall, our group had a great time at the house and would book again!

We are a large extended family, and this house had room for all of us without feeling squished. Besides the bedrooms, there are multiple common spaces so one group could play video games downstairs while another hung out on the porch and someone else napped in the sunroom. The kitchen is very well equipped and the extra refrigerator downstairs was very helpful. The wifi wasn't working properly; it was there, but weak. The hosts were very nice, but due to 3-way communication between them, the owner and ourselves sometimes things got lost and we had to ask multiple times. Overall would recommend for a large group!

Three families there for a Junior National Bass Fishing Tournament. Lots of room in the house and outside to accommodate all of us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hartwell! Suzanne and Eric were awesome their responsiveness to a few issues was immediate. There was plenty or room and the kitchen was fully equipped and amazing!! The grills worked great and the water was perfect. We did have a small issue with the air in one bedroom upstairs but found a solution with the hosts help. Recommendation would be to replace the couches in the main den as they seem to swallow you up when you sit on them. The downstairs den was the perfect place for the kids to hang out! Would definitely look at renting again!

We had a great family reunion at this lake house. Plenty of rooms and space for our 20 family members. We spent most of our time down by the lake on the dock, and rented a boat for tubing and waterskiing. We were amazed at how quiet and peaceful it was, and we rarely saw people out on the water. Overall great experience. The WiFi and TV reception was very spotty but that was mentioned in the description. If a solution can be put in place for future stays would be a great amenity. We were able to stream movies on the tv for family movie nights from our phones so it worked out.
