Overall enjoyed our 4 night stay. Plenty of room to spread out with 2 bedrooms and a loft. Living quarters on 2nd floor, beds comfortable, and location was key. Townhome is very plain, no decor on walls, and sound carried up and down from living quarters to loft. Would consider renting again because of location to Bar Harbor and Acadia Nat'l Park but would also look at other options for the price paid.
While the location and size of this townhouse was a good fit for my family, the on line photos did not depict what was exactly at this home. The website stated a deadbolt was on the front door, which there was not. The photo of the downstairs bedroom showed a TV and air conditioner unit. There was no TV (apparently removed) and the air conditioner unit outlet was also removed making it unusable. The place was cleaned, but the rugs were old and stained. Especially the master bedroom rug which was gross. The kitchen is outdated with very old minimal pots and pans and utensils. The toaster did not work and the cabinet doors did not open or close properly. The view of the water is much more obstructed than shown in the photo off of the deck. Lastly, no instruction manual for garbage, recycles or information provided. We loved Bar Harbor, but would not stay at this estaishment again.
This townhome is a great location - not waterfront but can see the water and cruise ships coming/going from the 2nd floor balcony. Just outside of Bar Harbor proper and entrance to Acadia National Park which was perfect. New outdoor furniture on first floor patio and brand new grill were great additions. However, there are no grill utensils in the kitchen (even though a drawer is labeled grill/lobster utensils) and they are not available for purchase at the grocery store in Bar Harbor. Seems strange to invest in a new grill but not provide a way to cook on it or clean it. Dishes/glasses were stocked nicely but the rest of the kitchen was NOT - very few pots/pans and what was there was old, food stuck badly, no can opener, no sharp knives, etc. If you want to cook - bring whatever you need except dishes/glasses. Bathroom floors had not been cleaned (sticky soap globs and hair on floors) when we arrived but after texting Vacasa (great feature and they were responsive) housekeeping did return to clean the floors. Carpets were very worn and stained especially in the rear bedroom of the first floor. A/C was better than anticipated since it was labeled as partial - there are multiple window/wall units on all 3 floors. Only problem was the one in the lower front bedroom isn't plugged in and can't be due to not having the correct type of outlet nearby so there's an A/C unit in the room with the power cord just dangling fro the wall. Strange. If they fixed this, A/C in the entire unit would be as good as full. Pictures in the listing are from various units in this same building so just know that you aren't seeing pictures of a single unit. There are more beds on the 3rd floor loft than advertised - 2 queens and 2 twins. Was great for kids and they loved it. Overall this provides a much better space than a hotel but it needs some more updates to make it a great property. More towels and toilet paper than I have ever seen provided in a rental. If someone really updated this property it would be fantastic.
The home was OK. The tub was dirty, so we bought bleach to clean it. Knives were provided after the request. It met our basic needs, but we would probably not use this place again.
This property was in a great location and had a great view and was a pretty wonderful setup for our family stay. Check in was fairly smooth, other than the wifi password was not posted in the unit as listed and it took quite a while to get someone to find the info. The kitchen was big but missing a few important things (to us) like a toaster that worked without holding down the lever, a can opener, and a few knives that cut more than butter! Regarding the second bedroom on the first floor, there was an AC unit, with no working plug, and outside the window on said AC unit, there was a 24/7 drip (quite loud) from the third floor AC unit - not good for sleeping. We were disappointed that the outdoor patio table was so grungy that we could not use it. With a few adjustments we would recommend highly.
