Gearhart Cottage North

The Space:

From the red front door to the outdoor firepit, this dog-friendly Gearhart cottage for four is a great spot for a family or friend coast getaway.

The location of this home is unique and offers the best of Gearhart. Shops and eateries are within walking distance (including the local favorite Pacific Way Bakery & Cafe), and fun activities like playing on the beach and playing a game of doubles on the public tennis courts are close by as well. The beach is about a five-block walk away, so you won't waste much time getting to the sand.

A perfect blend of traditional beach house and modern decor create an atmosphere that can't be beat. The fenced backyard is a nice place to relax after a day out and about. Light the firepit and roast s'mores while the dogs and kids run around. Please note that there is a nightly pet fee.

Gather the group in the living room to cozy up on the plush sofas for a movie night on the large flatscreen TV. Cable is provided so you won't miss your favorite shows.

Across the room is a full kitchen with major and small appliances (coffeemaker, toaster, blender, microwave, mixer, and dishwasher included) for tasty at-home meals. A breakfast bar with two chairs sits off the butcher block island and a small bistro table for two is nearby as well.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed and a gorgeous in-room clawfoot tub next to the sink and toilet. Two twin-size beds occupy the second bedroom and a 3/4 bathroom with a large stand-alone shower is just off the hallway.

Feel free to stay at this fresh vacation rental as long as you like and have peace of mind knowing clean clothes for tomorrow's activities using the washer and dryer.

Head down to Gearhart Ocean State Park to beachcomb, take a relaxing stroll, and even build sandcastles on the rare, yet divine, sunny days. Play tennis, reserve a tee time at Gearhart Golf Links, and try out glass-blowing. Go hiking and horseback riding, or take a trip south a couple miles to Seaside or about 10 miles down to Cannon Beach.

From whale watching to staying in on a rainy day, your stay at this dog-friendly Oregon home will be one for the books.

We love this place! It’s the perfect size for a family of four with two pups. The deck and yard are great, there are plenty of extra supplies and it is clean and functional. A great value.

House was great, after it warmed up. There’s a heating/cooling unit that has a remote we didn’t see u til checkout, but we weren’t really IN the house that much. Would definitely return.

This house was amazing! It was so clean, and very cozy. It was super close to the beach, an easy walk. The yard was just perfect for my two dogs, and was very well maintained. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were super clean—I can’t say enough about this house. I definitely would stay here again!

Most everything was good. House was cute and clean. The property wasn't clean as far as dog poop all over the yard. We had our dogs with us and would have hoped that it was picked up before we arrived.

The place was perfect for pets, although we didn't bring ours this time. The kitchen had plenty of use full items. We loved the cable, and the rooms were just fine for what we needed.

We have being stay at this cottage numerous times a year since 2017. I love the backyard for the dogs, the interior space is very comfortable and the location is just a few short blocks to the beach. We love having dinner at Nonni's in Seaside and always do lunch at the Bridgerwater in Astoria. Highly recommend.

I can’t begin to describe everything but here is a few…the walking trail is right there next to home, dead end street, but the whole area is walkable , and super friendly …the 2 bathrooms was great even the odd layout read it’s easy to figure out! Everything was clean, but remember this is rented to pets so keep that in mind we had no problem what so ever…we lived and ate on the fantastic back deck and fenced yard the fire pit was a hit and we left fire wood for the incoming renters! Don’t want to brag too much or it will be hard to find vacant!

The house was cute, clean, and decorated modernly with an ocean theme. The cabinets had many pots, pans, utensils. There were not many spices and no condiments in the fridge. The king-sized bed was comfortable. The twin size beds were not the best quality. The pillows were OK. I appreciated having two toilets but the second bathroom is literally in the master bedroom, which I did not gather from the pictures. We did not use the fire pit. The fireplace in the living room is easy to use. The temperature in the house seemed a little hard to control. The town of Gearhart is quiet and quaint but close enough to Seaside for anything we needed. I loved catching sunsets at the beach! It was the perfect location for our ventures to Astoria, Cape Disappointment and Cannon Beach. I loved using the Vacasa app. It was super helpful and the hosts were responsive. The code to get into the lock was way too long - we could never memorized it. I would recommend this place to a friend.

This is a cute house in a quiet neighborhood. Nice kitchen and great backyard. The fence securely contained our 12# pup. Easy walk to the market and coffee shops of Gearheart. We stayed a week to explore the northern coast. We hope to come back next year.

Our pet was at ease during a storm. There is plenty of space to lay out and relax in front of the giant TV. The mini split unit had no issues keeping us warm.

Gearhart is a special area and this cozy cottage is in the heart of it. Short walk to the beach, shorter walk to town center. McMenamins is nearby on the golf course and the elk are often sited there. The home is clean and the kitchen well stocked. We had our dog with us and the fully fenced yard was a bonus.

This was our second time staying at this property, and it won't be our last! The huge, fenced yard is perfect for our two dogs, and this home's location in proximity to the beach, Seaside, and other area attractions such as Cannon Beach and Ecola State Park make it a wonderful choice for anyone looking to explore the area. We look forward to staying here again!

No preparation for power outages, known to the locals as likely this time of year. Prior to arrival wasnt aware this was something that could impact my stay here. No heat, minimal hot water, no ability to cook, everything ran on electricity and no backup or generator in the event of total power loss. Left my stay earliy as it was uncomfortable in the 50 degree interior. Communication with the property management was terrible amd they did nothing to compemsate this issue. Would not recommend this place or the management company to anyone.

This property is so cute and cozy, just minutes from seaside! It is a bit misleading stating it is about 4 blocks from the beach, it is over a half mile to walk to the beach from the house. Over all, such a cute and cozy property, I would absolutely stay here again!!

This house is nestled in the middle of Gearhart a quaint and cute town. Very close to the golf course (if that’s your thing) and the beach. There was a lovely little bakery that had delicious pastries two blocks away from the house. It had more space than we required, so it would be perfect for a family of four. It had a fire pit that we wanted to use, but just never got around to it. Perfect location to access all sorts of fun activities on the northern Oregon coast. We’ll be back for sure 😊

I chose this home, looking for a dog-friendly property near the town of Gearhart. The home fit that need with a very nice fenced yard and comfortable setting for us to vacation with our dog. However, other aspects of the home were a bit disappointed. I found it to be poorly stocked with amenities and the distance to the beach was a bit misleading. if you are planning to take all of your own entertainment, cookware, and beach supplies, this house could be a good fit for you. If you’re hoping to find that the house has amenities so you can pack less, you may want to think twice.

We love staying in Gearhart and this house is in a great location. In close walking distance to the bakery, on a quiet street. The house is very nice with comfortable furnishings & bedrooms, bath and has a nice kitchen and washer & dryer. The shower is great too!
