The space Located in a prime area of the Salt Lake Valley, this basement is all brand new and took a lot of blood, sweat and tears so please, do your best to take care of it. My brother Josh helps me manage the rental and lives upstairs with his wife and their dog. They are not home too often but there is potential for noise. I installed noise canceling insulation in the ceiling but some noise still comes through. Don't hesitate to text or call if you need them to keep it down. The space is spacious for 4 guests, good for 6 guests, and will accommodate a maximum of 7 guests. There is a keypad entrance so you can check-in just about whenever you need without having to check with us. There is brand new air conditioner and furnace. This is a quiet neighborhood. I take a lot of pride in making your stay comfortable and fun so please let me know what I can do to improve it!
Bedroom 1: This large bedroom has a King size bed with a Zinus Ultima Comfort Memory Foam 12 Inch Mattress complete with 3" of high quality "BioFoam" (the highest quality of memory foam), 3" of of Pressure Relieving Comfort Foam, 6" of High-density Base Support Foam, all covered Soft Knitted Jacquard Fabric, all combined to provide you with an amazing nights sleep. WARNING: I slept on this mattress once and now I hate all other mattresses. Bedroom also has mood lighting (BYO Marvin Gaye album), closet, night stands, lamps, and a 36" flat screen TV complete with an Apple TV. The sofa can fold in to a full size bed, extra sheets in the closet, and is about as comfortable as you'd expect a sleeper futon to be. The extra queen-size blow up mattress is in the closet with sheets and blankets.
Bedroom 2: This slightly-smaller-but-still-pretty-big bedroom has a queen bed with a mattress topper, closet, hutch, laundry basket, night stands, and lamps. Oh and mood lighting, of course.
Laundry: We've provided a large capacity washer and dryer.
Bathroom 1: This bathroom offers a newly tiled shower with a clear glass door and shower panel. This shower panel is the Taj Mahal of showers. It includes waterfall, rainfall, misters, body jets, regular ol' shower head with 3 pressure settings, temperature display, LED color lighting, and a foot wash spout. Necessities and complimentary toiletries are provided including clean, soft towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and washcloth.
Bathroom 2: This bathroom offers a classic bathtub to soak in and if you like boring old shower heads over multi-function shower panels then you're in luck because this bathroom has one. It also has a mountain-themed shower curtain. Necessities and complimentary toiletries are provided including clean, soft towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, washcloth, and hair dryer.
Kitchen: Brand new stainless steel appliances; 5-burner stove, fridge with ice maker, microwave, oven, dishwasher, and sink with disposal. The kitchen is well-equipped including a coffee maker, and a blender. The kitchen has a dining table for 3 for sit down meals. Kitchen complete with nearly all the conveniences of home.
Living Room: Great open concept for family and friends, large 50" flat screen complete with Roku set up with Hulu and Showtime accounts logged in. The couch is brand new (as of 12/23). There is an available inflatable mattress for 2 additional guests. There is free high-speed internet throughout. The front room also has a vintage wood-burning stove for cozy winter nights (please abide by local fire restrictions, many winter nights are "no burn" days in SL county and enforced strictly).
Outside: This is a shared space between the guests and the home owners and their guests. Hottub is on the front deck which is gated. Help yourself through the gate anytime. Sometimes my brother’s dog hangs out on the balcony, if that’s the case, don’t hesitate to knock on the door or text us and will bring her right inside. There is a security camera in the car port by the entrance to the guest unit. I also have a Ring doorbell with video surveillance on the upstairs front door, which monitors the front porch including the hottub.
Guest access You will have the basement to yourself. You can park on the right side of the covered carport. The door is right in front of your parking spot and has a code so you can come and go as you please. It is ground-level so you won't have to worry about any stairs. My brother Josh lives upstairs with his wife and their dog Sadie. She’s a very friendly dog who likes to hangout on the deck so feel free to say hi to her if you’re a dog person (if you’re wanting to use the hot tub and Sadie is out just let them know and they’ll bring her inside). They are gone a lot but happy to chat or help out when they can. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. I grew up in the area and have spent a lot of time in the outdoors here so feel free to reach out with questions or recommendations. Other things to note Kitchen is a fully stocked kitchen with a coffee maker, blender, pots, pans, toaster, microwave and hopefully anything else you need. Some pets may be allowed on a case by case basis and a $20/day pet fee. Pets must be fully potty trained, house trained, and quiet. There is no fenced yard.
Stayed here for 6 nights to ski. It was perfect size for 4 adults. This place has everything you need . The location is excellent. It is close to the access roads for skiing and any restaurant/ store you would want. Highly recommend and would definitely go back!
Great Host. David was easy to reach and nice. Cute decor and neighborhood
This is a nice apartment on the bottom floor of a home. We came to Utah to ski. It was clean and quiet. Comfy beds and well equipped kitchen. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores and ski rental places within a 5-10 minute drive. 25 minute drive to Brighton/ Solitude, but you need to leave early. If you don’t have a 4WD, the bus stop to go to resorts is 7-9 minutes up the road with parking. But again get there early. (7am) Would love to come stay here again! The snow was amazing!! I never needed to contact host as instructions were great.
This was a perfect spot for a last minute ski trip with our dog host was real helpful with ski advice. Can't wait to return.
Location was convenient and comfortable. Just as described.
This worked out perfectly for us as my husband and I were visiting our daughter who just moved to the Pinnacle Heights apartments and this is conveniently located near there. It was clean and had everything just the 2 of us needed. It is in the basement which didn't bother us - still homey with windows adding natural light. The only thing that was unfortunate about our stay is that, upon arrival, we noticed immediately that the vanity in the extra bathroom was starting to pull from the wall. We tried to contact the owner with no luck. Our immediate worry was that it would fall off completely and flood the basement. Our secondary worry was that the owner would think we caused it. After a few days. we noticed someone was staying upstairs so we were finally able to speak to someone (though not the owner). He let us know that they were aware of the issue and gave my husband permission to take steps to minimize the chance of it coming entirely off the wall (my husband is in construction and was comfortable doing this). Other than having that hanging over our heads while there, it was a great place... just bad timing as I am sure the owners intended to take care of it but there simply wasn't time before our arrival. Our only wish is that the owner would have mentioned it to us beforehand. Still a high overall rating as we would definitely stay there again.
Great location and plenty of space for 4 to stay. Way better than a hotel! Had to reach out for a couple of things but the response time was fast and all was handled! Will stay again if we are in the area.
Our stay here was great. We loved the area and all the hidden gems around. We went for several hikes and saw different sights. The place was clean, easy to find things, and a nice place to stay.
Comfortable basement flat with good east bench location and easy access to shops and freeway. We’d stay here again!
Overall the stay was pleasant and exactly what was needed. The only drawback was the temperature. Even as hot as it was outside, the apartment was freezing because thermostat was upstairs and we had no control. Once we opened the windows to let in the outside warmth it became bearable. Just pack some warmer clothes for inside…there was LOTS of cozy blankets that took the chill off though :)
We enjoyed our 4 night stay at The cottonwood heights apartment. Convenient location for our visit with family. Place was clean, directions were easy , and communication with David was handled quickly. Basic Supplies were on hand. King bed and shower was awesome. Thanks
We have stayed in a number of timeshare exchanges and vacation rentals and this is probably in my top two. Beautifully decorated and outstandingly well-equipped. Good quality mattress and linens. There was an issue with the dishwasher, but David knew about it before we did and had a repairman out to fix it without delay. It's really nice to have covered parking. Thanks, David.
