Unwind Fireside: Wills Point Gem w/ Hot Tub & Pond

The property was excellent, we are planning our next trip & strongly thinking about this location as a repeat!!!!

The property is a beautiful home in an excellent location with a well-designed layout. Unfortunately, our stay was significantly impacted by issues related to the home’s maintenance and readiness for guests.Upon our arrival, the temperature inside the home was 80F downstairs and 86F upstairs. Despite the presence of three thermostats, setting them to 72F and waiting over an hour did not result in any temperature change. I made several attempts to reach the listed contact number before finally getting a response. The representative informed me that “it’s a big house and it takes a while to cool off” and stated that everything had been fine during a recent visit.Despite this, the temperature remained uncomfortably high throughout the evening. We ultimately had to secure hotel accommodations for the night, as the home was not in a livable condition. We received meaningful assistance only after contacting the management company directly. Following further discussion, it was agreed that we would not be charged for that night.The following day, an HVAC technician arrived between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and resolved the issue, but this caused significant inconvenience, particularly as we had additional guests arriving that day.In addition, the pool had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. There was visible green slime on the walls, indicating it had not been properly maintained or serviced.This was especially disappointing given that our reservation was made months

The house was large and spacious and beautiful. Sadly two of the beds had dirty sheets on them. I know this because there was hair between the sheets and in another bed, dirty Kleenexes between the sheets. There was hair in the bathtub upstairs the kitchen floor was sticky, sticky sticky. The hot tub was down about 8 inches of water green and smelled awful but the worst was the barbecue grill had about 2 inches of grease old meat and dead in sex in it. It took us two hours to get it clean enough to actually use it. The pool was beautiful, clean and wonderful and the porches were lovely.!

Home is beautiful but many details need attention.

Stay at Wills Point Retreat was positive and relaxing but we have a few suggestionsPositives:-A very large property-plenty of land. Feels private and secluded-Large bedrooms with multiple beds in most rooms -The kitchen was large enough to have multiple cooks working at once-The double oven really came in handy -The back porch was relaxing-The property had a lot of parking available-The location is very secluded but only a few minutes from a grocery store and a small downtown shopping area-There was room for 12 people to sit and eat between the dining room and the kitchen island seating-Although there were a couple of specific exceptions, the house was mostly very clean-The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and had huge closets Areas to address:-MAIN ISSUE:The downstairs needs a tv. We read an earlier review and so we knew there was no tv downstairs. We brought our own. We had 2 guests in their 80's and it was not feasible to have them go upstairs-It took about 45 mins. to get into the house at check in. The previous guests' code was probably not changed so our assigned code didn't work.-It is difficult to see the main gate and keypad at night-The kitchen needs some additional eating utensils (spoons) -The dish drying pad and the potholders were dirty- The bottom half of the stairs have no handrail. There is a broken stair spindle/slat- Some of the beds were quite creaky- Many lightbulbs were outWe would stay here again & recommend it w/few fixes.

We loved the property. The house was clean, and there was so much to do. We all had a wonderful time. A few things need attention. There was only one TV with 18 people, and it was upstairs, on a football week. The dish towels were torn or had bleach spots. There were no blankets for the bottom trundle beds, which left 4 children with only a sheet, in 40 degree weather. I tried to call Wednesday and Saturday, but only got a recording. There need to be instructions on the central heat and air dials. Also, instructions were to turn AC to 84 degrees, but it was cold outside, and I couldn’t reach management company to find out what to leave system on when it’s cold outside. The outside grounds also needed attention. Maybe all that’s included, but 1 roll of paper towels and a few trash bags were not enough. There are no cookie sheets either, luckily I had brought one.

A perfect family retreat offering complete privacy. The kids were entertained with activities like the swimming pool, hot tub, and table tennis, leaving us undisturbed. The bedrooms are spacious, and there’s plenty of outdoor space to enjoy.

We gathered for a family wedding held at a local venue (which was horrible BTW-the venue) and this rental was the best part of the whole trip! Clean, updated, plenty of space, no bunk beds, the hottub and the pool-made this place wonderful! The wrap around porch allowed us to watch a beautiful pink sunset every night! I emailed with concerns regarding a prior review and was responded to immediately-all issues were addressed and not an issue for us. We did not walk to or try to use the ponds located on the property so I can’t speak to their use-but I will say they might be hard to access with high grass surrounding it. We were too busy cooking out, and hanging out in the pool and hottub?We are so very happy we chose this location?

Overall the house was decent, lots of space. But, to help you improve, I would like to state the things that were NOT fine considering the price. 1) As soon as we walked in, we noticed the abundance of flies! There must have been 20-30 in the kitchen area and on the doors. 2) There was only ONE television in the entire house. We were excited to watch the Olympics and the ONE TV was upstairs, not where everyone likes to sit and gather like the living room. 3) We wanted to utilize the pool/hot tub, the main reason we booked this house. Hot Tub was filthy and water/filters were brown and smelled bad. Trash in the pool, majority of us did not feel comfortable getting in. Chlorine floater was empty, no tablets. 4) The kids couldn't fish because the area around the pond is not maintained. There was not a clear spot to stand by the water, nearby playhouse was covered in wasp nests and spiders. It was not in safe condition for play obviously, but needs to be maintained for wasps. 5) Numerous things are not maintained/need to be upgraded: Shower upstairs barely drained Lamps not attached properly Hand Soap was so watered down, it wouldn't even clean our hands Towels are old and mismatched No dish soap Ice Fridge doesn't work No cookware essentials No coffee/keurig mahcine Upstairs landing above the front door needs to be cleaned! Trash bag taped over a window in the shower Light bulbs are out all over Staircase spindle is broken I have pictures if needed.

An absolute gem! A great retreat for our community of moms to rest, recharge and have some fun. The pool was a blast, and the house was so clean and comfortable, but the VIEW! Truly a little piece of heaven on earth!
