Stayed Sep 15, 2025Would have liked to have instructions on where to store our luggage before checkin. AC was ok but not great. Should have at least a Bodum for coffee making. Sofa bed did not have sheets when we arrived.

Stayed Sep 10, 2024We LOVED this property in Vernazza! It is perfect for two people. There is a couch that becomes a bed, but it would be close quarters for 4. Those with mobility issues - be aware - there are many steps from the main steet to the property, but doable. We had never rented a VRBO before so we were wondering how it would all work. But we had great communication with our host. She always responded quickly when we had a question. We only had one issue, it was the air conditioner, and the local rep, Luca, handled it immediately. Of all the Cinque Terre villages Vernazza was definitly our favorite...very welcoming!

Stayed Sep 4, 2024Not luxury but nice place. Feels like you live in Italy. Very small bathroom. Lots of steps to property but that’s Vernazza. Nice place if your expectations aren’t really high.

Stayed Aug 21, 2023Lovely spot!! Very comfortable, lots of pillows and towels. Great water pressure (for the 2-3 showers a day you will need in the summer) Easy check in. I choose this place again!

Stayed May 10, 2023Love Vernazza! The Rock House is just a couple stair climbs from the centre. Away from the train- so is quiet. :-D Nice decor. We had to go out to purchase our own shampoo though- we left it for the next guest. :-) House is on the trail through town Monterosso to Corniglia- which is fun.

Stayed Mar 14, 2022Much has been done to make this cave a home. Bravo. The initial challenge is that it is located on top of steep uneven stairs. With heavy suitcases, it’s a long, difficult haul up 54 steep steps, 100 feet high. We practically choked on chemicals used to treat the room. Our eyes watered. I started wheezing. We had to open the windows and doors to clear out the awful smell. In the process, the cold room became freezing cold, in the high 30s F. No heat. We tried to reach the owners but the WI-FI didn’t work. I called them long distance on my phone, and after their children were in bed they called back and sent out two people to fix the problems. Unfortunately, the property does not have heat. They brought an old plug in heater that overnight raised the temperature about 10 degrees. By the third night it was comfortably chilly. The written code for the WI-FI was wrong. It worked briefly after the service call, but then it stopped again, even when we held our phones up by the kitchen window as suggested. Our own 2G cell service worked very slowly. Pluses for this property: a small fridge, a toilet, a microwave, an electric teapot, a hot shower, good water pressure and a comfortable bed. It’s much more comfortable than camping. Other issues: a secondary front door that should never be locked, few electrical outlets, a small leak in the ceiling over the bed, written instructions to place trash outside but no place to put it and micro-thin bag liners.

Stayed Sep 22, 2025We really enjoyed our stay at Stefania‘s property. All communication was excellent, the check-in process was seamless. Her place was clean and cozy, with an amazing location just steps from all there is to do in Vernazza.

Stayed Oct 4, 2024Three of us stayed here for two nights. Enjoyed the good water pressure in the shower. The unit is tiny but in this area you aren’t hanging out in your room. The stairs are no problem. Don’t bring large luggage to Italy period! Close to train and town. Bed comfy. Didn’t use kitchen. Nothing to take a shower so bring your own. Easy check in/out! Great little place for what we needed. To sleep while exploring beautiful Cinque Terre!

Stayed May 7, 2024Pros: Very good communication with Stefania who addressed a few issues the day after we arrived. Cozy apartment for two with good proximity to town. Cons: Sewer smell coming from the bathroom that Stephania tried to address but still lingered. Sewer issues? Broken shower head that she said will be replaced. 65 steps to the flat, not a problem for us but could be an issue for others.

Stayed Mar 25, 2024Perfect spot for me traveling solo and wanting to hike between towns and explore the Cinque Terre! Stefania was excellent at communication and very responsive when there was an unfortunate leak in the ceiling. There are a lot of steps to climb to get here, so if you have bad knees, this is not the place for you! It is comfortable for 1-2 people but would be pretty tight with 2 more on the pullout, unless maybe they are children. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a homebase for exploring the Cinque Terre.
