House is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Furnishings are danish modern, made for ease of cleaning, not for comfort. Beds listed as Queen are actually full size. Very well equipped kitchen. Bring your own laundry and dish detergent, soap, shampoo, and spices. Beaches are a short drive away. Lots of room inside. Key was left outside at rental agency for us to pick up. Keypad entry would be a great improvement. As pictured, house has lots of stairs. Wi-Fi doesn’t reach all rooms, no cell service (with att). We had a great time on the island, would love for the house to have been better managed. I called ACP with a few questions a week ahead of our stay during normal business hours, reached the answering service, never got a call back. (There were storms and flooding that week.)
This was definitely a new experience for us - from the style of the house to the setting and furnishings. Loved the spacious rooms, FABULOUSLY supplied kitchen and appliances, and great porch area! Would have liked a king sized bed (my hubby is a big man!), more comfortable furniture in the den, and although we had to park our boat on the street, it worked being in a quiet area. Overall we had a great stay!
Great place to stay, close to the beach but have plenty of privacy. House was clean and well furnished/equipped.
This property has more than enough space for 8 people not to feel cramped up together. It’s very clean and stocked with every kitchen gadget you need for a great week at the beach.
Great time with out of town family. We had teenagers, toddlers, couples and single adults and everyone enjoyed themselves. I usually frequent Gulf Shores for vacation but Dauphin Island was a breath of fresh air and we will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our stay, it’s great for 2 families as you share leaving space but have private bed and bathrooms. The multiple windows and tall trees makes you feel like you are in the forest.
This was a perfect stay. I originally had family going but because of a storm warning everyone except I decided to cancel. The sounds are amazing and it is hidden behind the dunes which was perfect.
We stayed for a week and loved it. It is the perfect place for a big family.
we arrived and the property was confusing on the layout. family will be split so beware if you have young children. main bed is on 2nd floor along with the lr, dr, laundry. and main bedroom and an extra bedroom futon/study. other 2 bedrooms are on first floor where only beds and bath are. main floor is on second floor. this would not be suitable for younger children. main entrance would be the floor with only 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. scary for little kids. so layout was kind of strange. but worked okay with us. since my mom and 17 yr old daughter stayed on the first floor. no problems for us. might be for others with small children or if you have sneaky teenagers. rain came while we were there some of the island was flooded . this house was shin deep under the house and across the property. so get ready to wade the water to get to your vehicle. whole propery was under water. barely could figure out the driveway to get in and out. we had a truck so it was tolerable for us. but every exit for 3-4 days was wading through water to get to the truck. wouldn't stay here again but we made the best of it while we were on vacation. at least we were all together and plenty of rest.
If you're a bird lover, the Audoban sanctuary is nearby, and part of it with a swamp is right at the end of this drive. Beautiful, modern house with huge windows into the woods.
