Located at Miners Camping campground. We are within walking distance to the Crater Of Diamonds State Park. Advice from miners who have years of experience finding diamonds.
We couldn't bring in our bags because of the roaches.. couldn't use the back door because of a broken board on the back deck..it could be a nice place with a little work.
Where to start. From the leaves clogging the gutter, to the black mold in air conditioner, the creepy door that has bolt at on top with some kind of sensor to the carpet bulge with a lot of staples, the bath tub not attached to the drain. The two full length mirrors on either side of bed facing the bed. Overall this place should be taken off your list. To be fair it is close to the park enterance, its' another two miles to visitor center. If you wanted a place close to the diamond mine this not the place to stay. But if you want ghost experience this is it.
It is a rustic cabin, but with running hot water. The property was clean in some areas, but not others. There were no towels and it only sleeps 4 unless you bring sleeping bags yourself. It is a good location for going to Diamond Crater state park and check in was easy.
It served its purpose. I felt it could have been cleaner but it wasn’t really dirty. It was nice and quiet mostly, and it was so close to the crater.
Ceilings were failing down in several place, spider webs all over the walls, linen on beds were not changed( creases were previous person slept in bed). I had to go buy new sheets and comforters.Gum stuck on floor, bags of garbage on deck, hole thru boards on deck(at least 18x18) obvious someone's foot went through. Hot water in kitchen sink did not work. Overall this place should be condemned!!! No one in the office, EVER!!! For what I paid for a 3 night stay this place should have been a 5 * cabin, it was at least a -3 and that would be a generous rating. If orbits is going to have properties like this one, I'll go elsewhere.
The camp staff are extremely hospitable. The cabin in rural Arkansas met our expectations. Awesomely convenient to Crater of Diamonds. Pro Tip - Do not trust your GPS driving there - old mining dirt roads are selected and not safe. Use a map. We had a great time!!!
We enjoyed the proximity of the house to the Crater of the Diamonds. The best part was a full-sized dining-room table and chairs, where we could chat face-to-face. But the bed had no pillow slips - I ended up using a t-shirt over the ticking - and plenty of cockroaches crawled out at night. Also, aggressive dogs ran loose on the property. We were afraid to take our dog for a walk.
It was in a nice location and we meet some niice people but for $100 a night it should have been cleaner. I bought cleaning supplies myself and cleaned it some and it had roaches and fleas. It also smelled very musty.
I never received and email the day of to explain how I was to get a key. I got there and they physically left the front door open. It was scary to enter being near the woods and in the dark. The bathroom isn’t close to being finished and the toilet leaked water. The blinds are broken to the bedroom windows. The back porch light doesn’t work. No Tv or towels. It was creepy, unsafe and their needs to be communication about what is actually there. I do not recommend this to anyone for this price.
Closeness to park. Kinda like a home away from home. We liked the fact it didn’t have a tv and we had time as a family to interact.
Very quiet. Had a great time. Great place for family.
From the outside it looks okay. The inside on the other hand is less than to be desired. Parts of the ceiling are falling down. The place smelled like bleach when we walked in. It looked clean. Then the roaches appeared. The beds are like sleeping on springs. Had to wash anything we used before we could use it. We didn’t use the dishwasher for the fact of the cockroaches. The only convenience is it is close to the diamond mine. It says walking distance yeah it’s about a mile and half give or take.
The property was in need of some repairs. The ceiling is starting to fall down. There is missing boards on the deck. Which is a trip hazard. The texture on living room ceiling is hanging down. There where no towels or wash rags. It was clean but had a smell. We came across roaches in the middle of the night . My wife was not happy about that.
Thus was a great place to stay! Despite the sweltering heat, the air conditioning and ceiling fans kept us comfortable at all times. The cabin was neat and tidy and the beds were very comfortable. Bed linens and pillows were provided but we knew ahead of time to bring towels. The kitchen was stocked with basic supplies which was very helpful. We didn't use the stove or oven but the full size fridge and microwave were spotlessly clean. Very conveniently located near Crater of Diamonds park the camp ground was quiet and we felt completely safe at all times. Our family plans to visit the area again, in cooler weather, and would 100% stay here again.
Loved our stay at the Miners house. It was perfect for My wife and I along with our English Bulldog. House was clean and ample bedding was provided. Bathroom towels are not provided if you plan on using the shower. We plan on staying again in the future.
After reading some reviews I was nervous about this rental. I was very pleasantly suprised! The only bugs we saw were actually wood roaches. Not the other. If you have ever lived in the woods in the midwest they are in the cleanest of house's. The house was dated, but extremely CLEAN. Bring a large plastic container to keep your dry goods in and there is no problem. The fact that there is only 5 min to the Creater of Dimonds state park is AWESOME. ALSO, bring towels!! But i want to say the sheets they had were very silky and clean. They also provided Netflix and other programs on the TV. WIFI is also included and works great. Located on the front porch is some screens and buckets, you can rent the rest at the park, vut if you want a cart to pull get to the park by 7:45 am and be as close to first in line.
Was perfect for my stay especially with 2 dogs. Thank you
The cabin was nice, perfect for miners. It was clean and rustic, great access to the park and supplies for mining. We grilled and used the kitchen to cook. It had everything we needed and was perfectly adequate. TV worked and we couldn’t have asked for more in a miners cabin!
Cockroaches rodent droppings smelled like urine ceiling caving in many lights burned out cleanliness non existent water smelled very bad furniture was filthy tub and toilet was not cleaned from prior use previous tenents clothes (i.e.) underware etc. left in closets if you want to call them closets overall a terrible place only good thing was it was very close to state park
Contacted property management by email and was promptly refunded.
WE used this as a rest between digs in the park. Kids like the big screen TV and the screen porch was a great place to store our equipment. Quiet, peaceful place. This is a cabin with two bedrooms nice living room and kitchen. Basic necessities
Had a good time with the family. Big yard
The place was absolutely filthy. Cockroaches galore. Mice dropping on the stove, under the sinks and in the cupboards. Had no other choice but to stay. I will never step foot in that place ever again. Disgusting
