It was a nice property to accommodate 10 of us.
This space was perfect for our family trip to visit local relatives. It accommodated toddlers to grandparents along with an enthusiastic dog. Everyone had their own space with room to congregate. The location allowed for a quick trip to the Children's Museum, Zoo and Providence Place. The kitchen was equipped for us to prepare family breakfast and dinner. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Our group of 8 stayed here for one night. It was a great place to rest after enjoying the evening in downtown Providence. The property was very clean with an updated kitchen and modern bathrooms. As other reviewers have mentioned, there are two narrow, winding staircases that some may find difficult to climb; our group had no issues. The furnishings are eclectic, but serviceable. Overall, we were comfortable and enjoyed the stay!
While the house was able to accommodate 7+ people the accommodations left something to be desired. It was more like a college frat house than an apartment where family and friends could stay. The furniture was mismatched goodwill finds that were dusty. The kitchen stools were too high and too wide for the counter making it nearly impossible to sit or walk around the table. The staircases to get into the apartment as well as up to the attic floor were so narrow and tight you had to walk sideways. For anyone on the bigger side, or bum leg it would be a hard pass. The location was ok, definitely not ‘steps’ from federal hill unless taking a 30min walk is what is meant. All in all great for college kids that have low expectations not so great for adults or families.
We had a party of 7 who stayed at this property to celebrate an engagement. It was a short Uber ride into downtown Providence for restaurants and bars, and the property layout is perfect for couples. We all felt that we had our individual private spaces to sleep in, but we were still able to comfortably gather in the multiple communal spaces in the kitchen, living room, and upstairs room together. The apartment was spotless, and our host Joel went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable during our stay and maintained excellent responsiveness throughout our trip. Some reviews caution about the steep winding staircases, but as long as you are aware of them prior to booking, you’ll appreciate them for being part of the property’s historic Providence charm. We would definitely stay here again and would also recommend to other groups of couples traveling together.
The house was clean. The stairs to enter the home are steep, narrow and make a tight bend leaving thin treads. The house was equipped with window air conditioners that took almost 3 hours to cool the house down, especially the third floor bedroom. We was supposed to have off street parking at the house. Upon arrival, all three spaces were filled and no place for us to park.
The property itself wasn't bad. The updates were pretty good, but the stairs were an issue. We knew they were narrow, spiral stairs going up to the 3rd floor, but we were not aware of them just to get into the apartment. The amenities provided were great! However, the location description was very inaccurate. It was not just steps from great restaurants nor was it quiet. It was over a mile to the Federal Hill strip and there were at least 6-8 cars per day that came by thumping their music. Lastly, the listing said parking for 4 cars, but those spaces were shared with another property and would have been an issue if a person didn't cancel on us last minute. Overall, the stay was sufficient, but the listing needs to be significantly corrected.
We had a great time and enjoyed our stay in Joel's apartment. It's a little quirky but extremely clean, comfortable and well equipped. A note for any elderly: there is a steep winding staircase up to the apartment and a second steep, winding staircase up to the second floor bedrooms. The main door opens onto the living room with the sectional couch and off of that is the kitchen. Both are smaller to medium-sized but the kitchen is very nice with lots of plates, bowls, glassware, and good pots and pans. We were able to have a fun family dinner one night very easily. The bedrooms are nice sized and very comfortable (2 are immediately off the kitchen). The ones upstairs have sloped ceilings, a strange trapdoor to the downstairs, etc. but are equally comfortable. Joel was extremely responsive, even to my stupid questions. The neighborhood is quiet - not really walkable to much, but has quick access by car to all of the things you might want to see or do in Providence and there's ample parking - both in the side lot of the house and on the street. Overall, it's a great apartment (again, very clean!!!) and we recommend it.
Eleven family members from three states flew in for my daughter’s wedding. The house was delightful! Beautifully decorated. Cozy but room for everyone. Loved the spiral staircases. Teens and younger boys had space to hang out in upstairs rumpus room. Dedicated parking spaces were great. Centrally located to downtown area for sightseeing and our wedding events. Would highly recommend and would stay there again.
