Rochester, New York
Come soak up one of Rochester’s centenarian dwellings. This gem has among other charms, a living area to die for. Warm welcoming and airy with huge bay windows for natural lighting. Tranquility is positioned walking disrance to many ethnic restaurants, walking trails and shopping. An easy drive to major highways, airport and hospitals. Rochester’s entertainments are all within a 5-10 minutes ride. Additionally, the house boasts full kitchen with most kitchen appliances and gadgets for ones comfort. Four confortable bedrooms and one and half baths complete the interior. Deep partially fenced backyard and covered porch add to outdoor living.
The house worked out well for a college visit with 3 teens. It is spacious and clean and the host was very responsive to the couple little questions I asked before and during our stay. As others have said, it is an older home in an urban neighborhood and the neighborhood noise can penetrate the walls...you may want to bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
Our hosts were wonderful and the home was well furnished and clean. We turned the heat on and it worked well. The home was welcoming with nice touches throughout. Nice new furnishings and updated linens. The only drawback was that the house is older and the walls a bit thin. We could hear the neighbors playing music or being loud two of the three nights that we stayed. Fortunately it was just a short occurrence!
We were very comfortable and happy with our stay. The hostesses were delightful! They responded to our one concern immediately and asked what could have improved our visit. We really couldn't think of a thing!
Thanks Lorraine. Your place was wonderful, cozy and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen and spacious.
Our family of 6 stayed at this property for three nights while I attended a conference in downtown Rochester. The house was really clean and comfortable. The floors are slanted in some rooms, due to it being an older house. The location is convenient to downtown -- a short drive or about a 40-minute walk along the river. We had never been to Rochester before, so didn't know the neighborhoods. The property is in an urban-adjacent area, but we felt safe and it was mostly quiet (there was some loud music down the street one night, but it didn't go on too long). We were especially grateful to the owner, who arranged to have someone let us back into the house to retrieve a beloved pillow that we had left behind. Overall this was a really good value, and we would stay there again.
Very nice interior; it's clear the hosts have put a lot of time and effort into updating it. Temperature control was great (it was quite chilly outside but pleasant inside). The neighborhood is transitioning but we walked our dog several times a day and didn't feel unsafe. Can be a bit louder outside with foot and car traffic on the road but didn't really keep us up at night. Close to some good take-out restaurants, and easy to get to the University of Rochester. Host communication about a few questions we had while there was OK.
