Tranquil Retreat Port Antonio

Overall, the location suited us. It is in a semi rural location but not too far from the main town. Most amenities are are easy to get to. Very spacious accommodation with a all kitchen appliances. AC installed but wasn't working. Accommodations had ceiling and portable fans. On the whole a very delightful stay.

We booked this property at really short notice as our original plans fell through. I can’t fault the property, how we were supported by Donna, her family and the local community during our stay! The house is situated very close to the centre to Port Antonio. It is a beautiful place to stay in a wonderfully safe and friendly community. We couldn’t have wished for any better! I sincerely hope I have the words that will do my stay at Tranquil Retreat justice. From the pre-booking to post-stay, Donna was there to ensure that my stay was as comfortable as possible. Having a communicative and responsive host is a major part in meeting your expectations. Then arriving at the home and it being exactly as pictured and described was the icing on the cake. The home was spacious and clean. Getting to and from town was a breeze, with route taxis passing throughout the day. This is a huge plus because it makes getting to all of the gems Port Antonio has to offer that much easier and less expensive. If you're looking for a clean, easily accessible, quiet home with a phenomenal host: THIS IS IT!

My partner and I stayed in Port Antonio for 6 weeks for an international placement. We found Tranquil Retreat online and were absolutely pleased with our stay. The home is sitting on top a hill overlooking a beautiful view. Donna-Marie was an amazing host along with the help of Keisha and Dale. All three were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay in Jamaica. The house is equipped with wifi, tv, and washer- this made our stay more accommodating. Donna- Marie's home easily became our home away from home and there's no doubt that we will be coming back to stay again!

One of the reasons we decided to stay at this property was Donna (the owner)'s responsiveness to emails. She was really great with getting us all the info we needed to know. She's in the States, so we didn't get to meet her in person, but she checked in on us several times by phone, and the housekeeper who let us in, Winsome, was really wonderful. The apartment is located on the outskirts of Port Antonio, with route taxis (100$J) passing by every few minutes to get into town. A convenience store is a couple minutes walk from the house. It's very spacious- one large bedroom with a queen bed, stand-up fan, full bathroom (cold water only), and then another bed in the living room (ceiling fan), plenty of room for 4 to sleep. There's also a 1/2 bath, laundry room with washing machine, spacious kitchen with full-size fridge, gas oven, microwave, and living room, and a entry porch. The house had cable and wi-fi. No a/c, but we found the temperature very comfortable with the fans. There were several great attractions nearby, including Reach Falls, rafting on the Rio Grande, and Blue Lagoon, as well as several beaches.
