Serene and quiet, you'll love this humble home right by the calming waters of Lake Tahoe. Pack up your favorite bathing suit and swing on by Ed Z'Berg Sugar Pine Point State Park and set up on the sandy shores with a beach towel and a good book. Gaze out at the mountains in the distance and enjoy this one-in-a-lifetime vista of Lake Tahoe and take in its turquoise waters as you dip your feet in the tides. Truckee River Rafting is less than six miles out where you can bring your family and friends and ride down the winding rivers in this incredible rafting experience!
Guests will also have access to the exclusive Tahoe Pines dock as well as a kayak. Relax on the family/dog-friendly Tahoe Pines beach with loved ones and enjoy a sunny day out. Take a trip to the top of Eagle Rock, just a mile out from your vacation rental. Also available in the summer/fall is the gorgeous Tahoe Pines Gnome Village, tucked right near Barker Creek. The trail that leads up to the village is a local hotspot and a fan favorite of families. Play some fun yard games out on the leveled-out and large lawn, or take a much-needed nap in the hammock that rests in between the aspen trees. There's a private balcony as well that gives you the best seating around for a fantastic view of the sunset. Let the morning sun shine onto your skin on the back deck or rest for a while under the shade.
Inside this sweet home away from home, you'll be glad to see its welcoming wooden interior decor, giving it an instant classic cabin-like feel. From the forest-inspired furnishings to the full island kitchen, there's a little bit of something for everyone! Whip up a hearty meal for all of your guests, or fire up the gas grill for some mouthwatering barbecue. Take a walk out into the woods nearby and stroll alongside nature as the snow gently falls. Return back to your vacation rental and warm up beside the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa in your hands as you huddle by its warmth huddled in a soft blanket. Relax your muscles and let yourself doze off into dreamland.

Cabin was beautifully remodeled. The heated floors and heated toilet seats were a nice touch. One smoke alarm was chirping upon arrival and we had to remove the battery to get it to stop. The property was missing a couple of amenities that would have been nice (salt and pepper, kitchen towels, napkins, tissues, and extra rolls of toilet paper as we almost ran out). Great location just minutes from the lake, comfortable beds and being dog friendly was a major plus!
Nice small house recently renovated. Everything inside appears to be new. Great location at the end of a one lane private road. Big lot with large front yard, but be aware that there are Bears in the neighborhood. Never leave food in your car or boat and don’t leave the house door open very long. They have a good bear electric fence on the home but you need to use it. Overall a great experience and very comfortable home. We loved it.
I LOVED staying at A Bear's Rest. This home is just beautiful, comfortable and so wonderfully located to everything that I love doing while at Tahoe. I'm grateful I found this fabulous gem. ENJOY!
So quiet. Great views and walks right from the cabin. The beach is lovely, again just a walk away. Nice kitchen, as we like to stay home and cook and read. The deck was our go-to spot. We loved this cabin and will return.
Cozy and comfortable spot. Easy walk to the lake and nice beach with a pier.
The day prior we were told we would receive the address, wifi and passcode to get into the house. We received all but the passcode to get into house. We arrived early and the text message we first received communicated we could request to check in early. Sadly we had confusing communication with poor English grammar and was only able to contact because we had received the wifi password. If we hadn’t we would have had no service and would have needed to travel elsewhere to communicate. We thought the booking was through VRBO but it is actually through Vacasa. Once we got through to someone it was hard to understand their grammar. They said things in a very maybe manner and it took several times of asking for clarification. We never received the passcode to get into the house. We had to call again after check in time. Again confusion with language barrier of asking for the passcode for the master box with the house key, that took several minutes. Once we finally got in the house, we noticed it had not been cleaned thoroughly. All the towels were damp. The floors had not been swept or mopped. Stove top was dirty. Bottom bedroom sheets were dirty/stained. Left only two rolls of toilet paper, that is not enough for a full house and a week. The kitchen only had 2 towells. Kitchen is not fully stocked. Has very basic spices. All of the windows do not have covers (bedrooms and bathrooms). But we loved the place minus the above.
The cabin was better than expected. The location was close to beaches and hiking trails. Bears were seen outside nearly everyday, which was cool.
