Totara Cottage - Free Wifi

Totara Cottage is a very peaceful and quiet cottage to relax in. It was very well presented and also very clean. We also met our hosts Sandy and Dean and also their little dog Kim. The cottage was a great base for us to drive to and explore Mt Cook. Twizel is also a lovely town with amenities to select from. Highly recommended.

The on-site hosts were very caring and helpful. The weather was frosty and the driveway was a little icy and we were given helpful advice.The room is quite close to the main house and well maintained, clean and tidy.

The place was clean, quiet and comfortable. Great hosts who provided guidance on things to do in Mount Cook National Park and future backpacking options. We would definitely stay there again.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Totara Cottage. Very clean and quiet cottage just a short walk into the center of town. It's small, as the photos show, but it's just what my wife and I were looking for. We'd stay again next time we're in Twizel.

We stayed at the Totara Cottage for two nights. It was a perfect accommodation for the two us. The cottage was well appointed, clean and very comfortable.Philippa was a welcoming host and provided very helpful suggestions for hiking activities during our short stay. We will definitely look for the Totara Cottage during our next visit to Twizel.

Totara Cottage is small but beautifully formed casita style accommodation. Located in a quiet residential area at the rear of the owner's home.Mount Cook Village is about an hour away. At the recommendation of Sandy, our host, we left at 6.30 a.m. and arrived before almost everyone else. Our drive was accompanied by the most amazing sunrise. We walked the Hooker Lake trail which is exceptional.We are happy to recommend Totara Cottage.

Lovely little cabin in twizel. Clean meat has all you need. It’s a little out of town about a 15 minute walk

The cottage was easy to find and parking was right beside it. Entry instructions were easy to follow. The area was very quiet. Inside, the cottage was beautifully set out and very well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice. We wanted for nothing. The owners were delightful when we talked to them and very helpful with a couple of questions. We highly recommend Totara Cottage as a great base for exploring Mt Cook and the wider area.

Comfortable, private, pleasant garden settingWell-appointed throughoutHowever, the cottage appeared to have been unoccupied for some time - smelly rubbish of a previous occupant had not been removed. - the water in kitchen taps was not nice suggesting the taps had not been run for some time, stagnating in high summer temperatures- the chocolate treats tasted old/stale - the black pepper from the difficult-to-use mill was - stale,- the toaster function was poor and the browning knob functioning unsatisfactoryOn arrival the owner said they would be there if I needed anything, then away on the third day.The owners did not communicate again and were away the next day. After 3 days I handed the owner the rubbish that had not been removed and received an apology
