Very clean ! Great location !
Large home that never felt crowded with our group. We loved the location and the backyard was awesome and private. Kitchen was well stocked (so much salt and pepper) and the two bathrooms were a blessing. Very peaceful and quiet in and outside. Would and hopefully will stay here again. The only issue was that there were very few blinds or curtains on the windows. (I was told they recently replaced the windows)
We had a great stay at this property. You truly feel like you are up north! The cottage itself is clean with a modern twist while still maintaining the originality of the home and property. We brought our 19 foot Whaler with us and had plenty of room to park it and our vehicle. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could need to cook meals in terms of appliances. The sun room is perfect for enjoying morning coffee while watching the runners and bikers go by! Having two bathrooms is a plus also with two showers. The yard has a nice deck with a Weber charcoal grill and a very nice fire pit. The owner Janna always responded promptly to my questions via message. This property is pretty centrally located to obviously Torch Lake but Traverse City and the Sleeping Bear National Park which we did go to! Lots of board games and tons and tons of towels for your stay! It was great not to have to travel with a bunch of beach towels because those were there too!! Also the washer and dryer was a bonus to have! Great up north property and I would highly recommend!
The pictures of the property were accurate. Location was good, across the street from the lake and a small public swimming area. However, upon arrival, the cleaning lady was not anywhere near finished even though we arrived an hour afterncheck-in time. She took 1 and 1/2 hours after our arrival to finish up, and leave. She was apologetic, but did not seem organized. Furthermore, she had her dog there in the house while cleaning, which would not have been an issue but our dog was frightened and we had to avoid going in. On our 4th day of the trip, we found roaches in the back bedroom and also in a bread basket in the kitchen. We promptly notified the property owners, although they didn’t seem to take the information seriously and nothing was done. The owner claimed that they were another bug native to the area, but one of the family members on the trip was a former Orkin pest exterminator, and was sure they were roaches. It was a major concern and hinderance to our safety and health, which really ruined the trip. When preparing to leave we were worried about bringing roaches home, and had to be very careful with unpacking. Overall, location was good, but property did not meet cleanliness and safety standards we expect with a VRBO rental.
We had a great stay over Memorial Day weekend. The cottage had quintessential up-north MI vibes. Super cozy, clean, well set up, and had everything we needed. The deck and fire pit are great. The private beach area across the street is a short walk, but a great little slice of Torch Lake.
Very cute and cozy cottage! The location was perfect! Across the street is a public access and its close to the sandbar. Home offered WIFI and a TV in the living room which was perfect for our younger children in the evening. The owner was quick to respond to my questions. Check-in and check-out were very easy! Will be back. Thank you for sharing your home with my family!
Great spot If you have young kids.
The cottage was nice, could use some maintenance. Very nice yard, all amenities needed were available. We were not able to check in until 8 pm because the cleaning was not done due to previous renters not checking out on time. Cottage is on busy road and close to the road so not convenient for walks and small children. Overall it was a nice rental for those without small children.
We had a great time!
The wooded setting in the backyard was so nice. A table for eight and the fire pit were used a lot. Walk across the road to swim. By yourself with no neighbors close.
