25 minutes from Tate House wedding venue. Thoroughly pleased with this house. Exactly as depicted. Minor issues only. Sofa is completely worn out. Could not get the gas fire place to work. Outside deck furniture is pretty old... but again the weekend was great partly because we were so comfortable here at the house. Would definitely rent this property again. Staff was a perfect 10 throughout the entire experience.
Our family was gathering for a wedding nearby. The size of the property was perfect for us. Everything was clean inside, beds were comfortable. We did notice several large bugs/roaches. Not unusual for the area but it was disturbing for some family members. The outside deck was in need of cleaning and appeared to have not been cleaned in a while. There was no mop available for a wet spill and ended up using our towels. We were extremely disappointed that we were not able to use the fireplace during our visit. After we arrived, we discovered the pilot was not lit and that meant we could not use the fireplace. The property manager was contacted but we never heard back. We were there October 13th-17th and mornings were in the 30s and in the evenings the temperature dropped as soon as the sun went down. Some of the rooms did not have adequate blankets for the chilly nights/mornings. Overall, we enjoyed the stay, and it inspired us to plan a family gathering annually.
The reservation process was very simple; checkin was a breeze. We had an issue with locating the key--when we arrived at the property, the lock box was open and lying on the porch. The key was not in it. I called the contact number to report this, but my niece found the key under the porch mat. After that hiccup, we couldn't have asked for a better time. The home was as advertised. I didn't know it was in a resort type setting, but that didn't change our experience. It rained the majority of our stay, but the home was spacious enough that we had enough space to be alone if desired or play games as a group. The area was beautiful. Great places to eat. Great memories were made!!
No worries about posting this review. I was trying to help the owner and rental company but, I will just put it on Facebook. First of all, we were not informed of the charges for the amenities: $20.00 to swim in the pool, $20.00 for water activities, etc. We were only told about kayak and boat rental being a charge and the other was free. Nothing was free but the air. The sofa in the living room sunk in which was uncomfortable and made it hard to get up (it needs to be replaced immediately), the TV downstairs did not work, the mattresses on the bunk beds were horrible and need to be replaced, toilet downstairs flooded as soon as we got there, we had to search all over the place to locate enough towels and face clothes for everyone, on the second day, the lock box didn't work properly to remove the key so, we called the property manager and she tried to help over the phone but, no one came out/ We finally got it working after trying over 30 minutes. We were not told in advance of limited parking and where to park the additional cars ( a neighbor was so kind to tell us), We had a great time with the group but not sure if I will rent from this company again. Not enough communication and don't keep the place up.
The property is good.
