Property was perfect for our large family vacation. Managers were extremely helpful in making our stay a forever memory
Great location, nice property. Home does needs an update and/or a handyman and some deep cleaning. Living room seating was broken down and uncomfortable,
Great location and had a great time!
Everything was pretty awesome. Love the wraparound porch and the view. It was hotter there than normal so we wish we brought fans. Two ceiling fans would’ve helped in the living room. There are ceiling fans in all the bedrooms. There is 3 French doors to let the breeze in. The road up there could be improved and the parking space too. Overall a great place for a large family to relax and spend time.
The location was super close to skiing area. The views were beautiful. Kids enjoyed the loft area and there was plenty of room for everyone in our party.
The house is very nice. The girl at the office where we checked in wasn’t friendly. The directions to the house were confusing. The map they gave us didn’t match the streets. We had to call in and ask for directions. Still confusing. The road to get to the house is a bit steep but we didn’t have any problems making it. We had 4 wheel drive. The wifi never worked. I texted the number for help with it. They responded they would try to get someone to look at it. No one ever showed. The 3 rd day they texted back and said they couldn’t get anyone to look at it, but did credit me back 116.00 for my troubles. We did enjoy staying at the house, it was beautiful and well maintained. The view was very nice.
The views were fantastic and the house layout was great. I would definitely return to this property.
The property was fantastic. The property management company was not helpful. We had issues getting into the property. They had issues with the heater (the house was fine with the few space heaters and fireplace going). They originally offered us an alternate place to stay which was no where near as nice as this house as well as multiple sets of stairs that would not accommodate the two grandfathers with bad knees. When we told them that wouldn’t work, they basically told us we were on our own. Nothing was mentioned about the state of the driveway up to the house. We worked it out with the heaters and an alternate place to shower (we figured that out- not the management company) - and still be able to get the house. We stayed there in September and loved it. The property management company did nothing to the driveway before hand and did not discuses with us any issues concerning the driveway. We were able to get up to the house once with both 4 wheel drive vehicles. After a trip to the store and to get skis - the truck made it up to the landing where you cut back to the house, and slid 1/2 way down before my husband was able to stop the slide. We had no issues before so we thought he just hit a bad spot, the 4 wheel drive Infiniti went around and didn’t make it, and slid down into the truck. While trying to get a few things out of the vehicles, my father slipped and fell. Suffering a very bad spinal contusion. We were taken by ambulance to Taos and the airlifted to Lubbock where he had spinal surgery Monday morning. We left the house two days early due to the injuries and getting back to Lubbock to be with him. The property management company was made aware of all of our issues and were no help. We haven’t heard back from them at all regarding the rental and possible reimbursement for the days we had to cut the trip short. Ironically. They had driveway cleared and stuff put down (salt or whatever they use) on it by 830 or so on Christmas morning and we had no issues going up and down the driveway after that. We loved the house and the location. Was extremely disappointed in Red River Realty. It’s been a week since the fall and we’ve had no follow up from them regarding any of these jssues.
The listing states the house is in town and it for sure is not. It’s a drive up in the mountains. We enjoyed it but the other issue we ran into was we were looking for a house with bedrooms on the first floor due to my elderly family members. While the bedrooms are on one floor, there is a huge flight of stairs you must go up and down to access the house in the entry. My grandparents hardly left the house for that reason. Also, they sent and email before saying check in was at 3 and then changed it later to 4. Other than that, beautiful home!
Roads are kinda of hard to drive on, but the house is awesome
First I’d like to point out the good things about the property. 1. It had a great view and looked really nice. 2. Always had hot water and appliances all worked. 3. The house was fairly priced. BUT I just want others to know exactly what they are getting. First getting there is quite the feat. No signage to the road you need to take to get to the treacherous driveway that as stated you definitely need 4x4. There is a very tight turn that our dually truck had to reverse on that was dangerous in the ice and snow. As you walk in, there is a very small entryway with nowhere for ski clothes or wet shoes and then the long flight of carpeted stairs down to main level of house making unloading and loading heavy ice chests and luggage difficult. Rooms were descent but mattresses were terrible. King in master had indentation from many years of use, spare bedroom full size bed was hard as a rock, and bedroom with queens was decent. Spare bathroom shower was clogged on night one. After plunging in attempt to unclog, black muck came back up and sat in shower. We did call the office the next morning and maintenance did come out and unclogged after second trip out. They did not however address the master bathroom pocket door that did not close all the way or the bath drain that didn’t close or would completely pull out as we had requested. The spare bathroom shower temp control pulled off at some point but we were able to screw and clip it back on. The washer leaked a little underneath and could tell it wasn’t something new because of stains on lenolium. WiFi never worked. The network on written instructions never came up and password didn’t work on any that did. Direct TV kept giving us Signal lost notification on most channels even when weather was clear. Washer/dryer in spare bedroom bifold door pulled off track on night one. There were 2 recliners that didn’t recline because they were missing handles. The light above the sink was out as were several other bulbs in the house. Stuff in the garage that was difficult to get around if you parked car in garage, an old toilet, screen doors, plumbing parts etc. Thermastats regulate very differently in different rooms with master bathroom being the hottest. The staircase up to the loft is extremely steep and narrow. One teen tumbled down during our stay. All in all we had a nice stay but the little things sure add up. We would stay somewhere more easily accessible next time.
